Kasauti Zindagi Kay, India's No. 1 Romance serial aired on Star Plus at 8:30 PM, has caught the imagination of the people of Mizoram, the serial gets more ogles than the GOD channel, which is the most watched channel in this predominantly Christian state, according to a five-day survey conducted by Hyderabad-based Christian Broadcasting Network, CBN India.

CBN says that GOD channel, though based on Christianity to an extent has failed to capture the hearts of TV viewers here. CBN found only a very small per cent of Aizwal's population watched GOD channel.

Irene Lalruatkimi, a CBN resource person said, "Very few people watch GOD channel. That too irregularly. Very few watch GOD channel's Sunday show 700 Club. Even though we are very weak in Hindi, people make a great fuss about Kasauti Zindagi Kay."

"In the Northeast, GOD channel has gained popularity in Shillong and Kohima. It has more viewers in Guwahati than in Aizawl. CBN has also conducted surveys in South India, Shillong, Kohima and Guwahati where the results weren't disappointing like Aizawl."

The survey was a random street survey conducted in August. Kasauti Zindagi Kay was most watched among women while Sports channels drew most eyeballs among men. Local programmes provided by the city's three local providers, LPS, Skylinks and Zonet, get most viewers, the survey said.

CBN India is a multimedia company dedicated to reach out to every Indian home with a message of hope through quality television programs. CBN in India began its operation in year 1995 and was incorporated as CBN Multimedia Private Limited in year 2000. Its entry to Indian Television began with a program called 'Flying House' in October, 1995, on DD2. Since then CBN has produced and telecast several indigenous programs.
