Urvashi Dholakia burns herself--Article

Urvashi Dholakia aka Komolika sustained minor burns while doing a fire sequence for Kasautii Zindagi Kay recently. The story goes that unlike most actresses, Urvashi refused to use a body double for the scene that required her to make her way through a house on fire.

After the first take, the director was not very happy with the intensity of the flames and asked his assistants to add more sparks. Urvashi, who was draped in her trademark attire of a sari and a backless blouse, burnt her right arm while saying her lines during the second take.

A reliable source from Balaji Telefilms informs, "Usually, we sprinkle water on the clothes so that it doesn't catch fire. However, Urvashi was wearing a strappy, backless blouse leaving her back and arms exposed. Thankfully, she ran out of the frame when she the heat became unbearable. Later we realised that the flames had intensified, and we took quite some time to douse the fire."

The actress who is television's favourite vamp in her Komolika avatar said, "At that point the pain was too much to bear. But these things do happen now and then and I'm better now."

Ekta Kapoor said, "Yes she had hurt herself during the sequence."
