Manoj says, "It's a 3 character play. There is one girl and two guys. The plot is really, really hilarious. I haven't confirmed all the actors yet so I can't say more!"
Manoj is not sure whether he will be acting in his play but his says that wife Teejay will be behind the scenes: "I could be one of the guys, who knows? Teejay won't be acting in this one, as she is keen on doing a Hindi play and this one is yet again hinglish!"
According to Manoj working with Teejay is "delight" because "she gets along with everyone. She is so organized and has great people skills. She is like my oxygen, without her I will combust!"
The couple recently got married for the second time in Canada. The celebration was to include Teejay's family who live there and weren't able to make it to their Mumbai wedding:
"The wedding was awesome! A few of my closest friends from Bombay had flown down for the wedding, which made it even more special. It was done the traditional Punjabi way, I wore a gold Sherwani, and Teejay wore a red and gold Lengha. Teejay has been raised in Canada so all her friends, family and relatives were there, about 600 people in all." says Manoj.
The ceremony was in the Gurdwara, where they took four pheras around the Guru Granth Sahib (holy book).
"After the ceremony, we had lunch (langar) at the Gurdwara, and then went for pictures in the park. Our reception was in the evening and it was one big party! There were champagne toasts, speeches by friends, cake-cutting and a first dance. Then it was bhangra all night long! Usually the newlyweds are supposed to leave around midnight but we stayed until the very end, about 3 in the morning. It was a great night!"
Right now Manoj and Teejay are taking a break in California visiting his sister. They then plan on traveling San Francisco and Napa Valley.
"The trip has been great; we've hardly slept since we got here. As soon as we landed, we've been on the go but it's been so much fun. We've never taken this much time away so we wanted to make the most of it. Forget second, it feels like our first honeymoon! In Vancouver, Teejay's brothers took us out, showed us the sights and the nightlife. Her friends threw parties for us. There were so many people to meet!
We also traveled to Victoria and Whister (mountain resort). In California, we're going to check out Francis Ford Coppolla's vineyard. We've also been invited for a special screening of Spiderman 3 in San Fran which I'm really excited about! We'll be in San Jose for a few days, too."
Manoj and Teejay return to Mumbai mid May. They have previously worked on the play "Plane Crazy about Love" which starred both of them. Manoj is also due to start shooting for Fame with Suniel Shetty in June and the actor says that "as of now I will be only focusing on my play. The rest I leave to God."
