Meet Jai Ejardar, Anil Nagpal and Fatima Rangeela, the scriptwriters behind Balaji Telefilms' popular soaps

Engineering to script writing If you think talent without a degree takes you nowhere, think again. Jai Ejardar, an engineering pass out started out by writing Hindi street plays went on to dialogue writing on Doordarshan. Now he is a full-fledged scriptwriter for Kasauti Zindagi Kii and Kkusum. "My favourite character is Prerna," Jai says. "In Kkusum, Kumud is my favourite character. Mostly our characters are picked up from real life. These characters are an amalgamation of fictitious imagination and real life experiences." At Balaji house where there are no fixed timings, scripts are written almost daily. "There is a lot of involvement from Ektaji in the scripts. It is all decided through discussions at the meetings where she gives us the broad outline as to what she wants," says Jai.

Man behind women's success stories
Who says men don't know what girl talk is all about. Probably the most women oriented tele-series till date, Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi's scriptwriter Anil Nagpal says it all began as a craze for journalism. A craving for creative writing got him started on writing for comedies on Zee TV. He has written for Kahin To Hoga and parts of Kkusum. "It's crazy work timings at Balaji. At times it's 10 to 14 hours of script writing every day which includes raking your brains, creating characters and stylizing them. Karan and Tanya are my pet characters. I think Tanya is brilliant, a very complex character and full of shades of grey." He says that Ekta Kapoor provides the basic guidelines for the progression of the episodes yet a lot of leeways are given to develop the plot and characters.

Fatima Rangeela started out with a course in journalism at KC College, Churchgate when she got her break with Balaji telefilms.
She is behind the hot favourite romance of Prerna and Anurag in Kasauti Zindagi Kii. "My work gets approved 99.9 per cent of the times. There is a lot of space to explore the characters as long as we don't go out for character. Ekta isn't rigid about it." She is full of praise for Mr. Bajaj. Being her favourite character she thinks the kind of patience and love he exhibits for Prerna is remarkable.

Nooo....You can't leave Neha, whatever happens 😭😆! I'm quite sure that Kasak is Bajaj's daughter! Yeah, hoping that man come into her life while she was with Anurag! Or even better...He could be Prem's father 😆!

So this Fatima lady was script-writer of kzk during the 2005 period- that's our fav. period- that's when the cute kasak-shravan-rish-prerna track was on :) and rish ws the writer's favorite character :)

I have some good news- Nivedita Bhattacharya ( who was creative head during the PRB union track) is back as the creative head and also Rekkha Modi (who raves about PRB and thinks their chem is the main reason behind KZK's success) are back!!!!

Rekkha is the dialogue-writer..
