Another actor has quit Balaji, taking the toll to five popular television actors who have decided to move on. After Amar Upadhayay, Kiran Karmarkar, Rajeev Khandelwal and Iqbal Khan, it's Cezanne Khan of Kasauti Zindagi Kay who has decided to end his association with Balaji.

The 28-year-old actor who has been playing father to actors almost his age, says he can't relate to his character anymore. "The first time that Kasauti took a leap I wasn't sure I was ready to play an older Anurag Basu. But later I decided to go with the flow," says Cezanne. But what made him decide to quit the show at this stage? "I've been playing Anurag for years now. It's been really long and I reached a point where I couldn't give much to the character. I wanted to grow and venture into newer avenues."

The buzz is that Cezanne had already resigned from the show. "I've quit," he says. Apparently, the reason is the third generation leap that Kasauti is all set to take. "Playing a father to 20-plus people was bad. After the leap I would be expected to play a grandfather."

Cezanne says he is too young to play a grandfather. So, has he told Ekta Kapoor about his decision? "I did meet them a couple of days ago. Initially they were adamant that I stay back but when I explained my problem, both Ekta and Shobha ma'am understood my plight. We're parting on an amicable note," says Cezanne.

There were rumours that Ekta was miffed with Cezanne who insisted on working just 15 days a month. "There is no animosity between Ekta and me," he says.

The cool dude of television wants to make a new beginning. "My last working day with Balaji is January 27. I'm serving my one-month notice period," he informs.

While Cezanne Khan is all set to tread a different path, his producer Ekta claims to be clueless about this. "First, I haven't decided whether Kasauti will take the leap or no. Whenever a show takes a leap, a lot of actors threaten to

quit the show. And at the moment I'm not in a mood to put up with their tantrums. I'm going for a holiday and hence haven't taken a call on this. Cezanne hasn't had a formal meeting with me regarding his resignation. I'll deal with this issue after I get back to Mumbai from Bali."
