You know - I've figured out Ekta's trick to keep us audience happy - in a week, we get five episodes of 30 mins each...thats a total of 2 and a half hours.
In those 2 hrs and 30 mins, we get to see a MAXIMUM of 30 mins of "GOOD" scenes, either in one go or spread out in two-three minutes snippets throughout the week - she shows us one PM, one AP and one PRB scene a week to keep each set of fans happy (except of course when there is a MAJOR crisis, in which case we get even less)...and she usually does this in the final two eps of the week, i.e. Thursday and Friday so that we all tune in on Monday in the hope of more: but of course, the cycle is repeated and we get crappy eps for the rest of the week...
This happens in almost all of her serials, but we feel it in KZK the most because there are THREE current/potential/past jodis that we all root for...in Kyunki, at the moment she is going full steam ahead with the KT-Lakshya romance, but mark my words, when it comes to actually getting them together, Ekta Mai is going to reduce the pace considerably...Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii doesn't really have a prominent love track unless you count Suyash-Parvati...and I don't. And don't even get me started on Kavyanjali....even Kya Hoga Nimmo Ka, which started off so offbeat and funny and "different", has begun to show signs of the Ekta treatment.
So, my question is, (and this is a genuine question, I really want to know why Ekta does this), what does Ekta get out of making a mockery of love? Aside from all sadistic assumptions about Ekta's own love-life (or lack thereof), what do we think are the REAL reasons for Ekta's adamant refusal to keep lovers together? I mean, if this happened once, or twice...or even thrice, we may understand it, but the formula is repeated, rinsed, washed and revamped in EVERY new pairing of EVERY "K" show....so why?
Any intelligent guesses? Any attempts to psychoanalyse the phenomenon that is Ekta Kapoor?
