Zindagi ka safar - part 8

Anurag and Rajeev also leave for Shweta's party.
They have a light hearted converation in the car. Rajeev is constantly teasing Anurag about Shweta.
Anurag goes on denying been restless to see Shweta but Rajeev refuses to believe Anurag's wanting
to meet Anjali more than Shweta.

They reach the hotel. Inside everyone is anxiously awaiting for Anurag to come.
However, are keeping it from Shweta and Anjali.
Anurag has Anjali and Shweta's birthday gifts ready with him.
He feels very nervous to see both of them and backs out of entering with Rajeev.
Rajeev after a few steps notices Anurag is not with him and so turns to see
Anurag standing by the car.
Rajeev: What happened? Why are you standing there? Everyones waiting for you.
Anurag: You go, i'll come in a minute.
Rajeev: Feeling nervous to face Anjali and Shweta.
Anurag: A little.
Rajeev: There's nothing to be nervous about. Anyway, go for a stroll, but don't go too far.
Anurag: Ok.

Rajeev goes inside and Anurag takes a walk around the car park. Everyone except for Anjali and Shweta,
surround Rajeev and keep asking him what took so long and where Anurag is.
Rajeev: Don't worry, hes just getting some fresh air, he'll come in himself.
Everyone is relieved that he'll enter soon.

Shweta and Anjali are just talking to all their friends. They both excuse themselves.
Shweta: Anjali, do you think everyone will notice i'm gone if i go outside for a little while.
Anjali looks around: No no-one will realise. Even i'll come with you.
Shweta: Yeah, lets go we'll only go for a bit.

Shweta and Anjali go outside, they are standing by the hotels entrance.
They both look up at the stars in the sky.
Shweta: What are you thinking?
Anjali: Nothing much. Why?
Shweta: Just like that. You know if feels like just yesturday, we started
college and now we're finished.
Anjali: Yeah, time goes by so fast.

Anurag decides to enter as he has akready wasted enough time.
He heads towards the hotel entrance when he sees two girls standing there.
As he gets closer, he begins to wonder, who the girls are. He thinks to
himself, that they both look so familiar.
He just enters, thinking it must be his imagination.
As soon as his parents see him, they question why it took him so long to
enter.
Anurag explains to them that he just needed some freash air.
Rajeev: Don't listen to him, he was feeling nervous.
Abhinav and Suman: Ok, leave all that. Kashish, where is Anjali?
She should meet Anurag.
Kashish: She was just here, don't know where she went.
Shalini: Shweta, is missing too, its time she cut the cake.
Just then Shweta and Anjali re-enter.
Suman: Anjali, where'd you go? Is this anyway to go off, atleast you could
have told someone.
Anjali: Sorry, mama, me and Shweta only went to get fresh air.
Shalini: Shweta, time you cut the cake.
Shweta: Yeah, lets go.
They all go with Shweta, so she can cut the cake.
Anurag is standing alone, completely shocked that he couldn't recognise Shweta
or Anjali.
He watches Shweta cut the cake and feed everyone.
Kashish notices Anurag is standing on his own, so she goes to him.
Kashish: What happened? Don't you want to meet Shweta and Anjali?
Anurag: Yeah, just can't believe i didn't recognise either of them.
Kashish: Come, atleast meet them now, as it is they haven't recognised you.
Anurag: Ok.

They walk up to the where everyone else is standing.
Anurag feeling a bit shy.
He then goes to Shweta and gives her a box.
Shweta: Who are you? And why are you giving me a box?
Anurag: Open it and see what it is.
Shweta opens the box, sees the wind chime and takes it out to have a closer
look.

[Flashback]
Shweta is holding a broken wind chime in her hand and complaining to Akshat
that Anurag broke it.
Akshat: Such a small thing, i'll buy you a new one.
Shweta: No, i don't want another one, i wanted only this one.
Akshat gets annoyed at her and goes off.
Just then Anurag comes to her: Sorry, i'll get you a new one.
Shweta, in anger: I don't want anything from you, you'll probably break that
one too. Now go away, i don't want to talk to you.
[End of flashback]

Shweta, shell shocked: Anurag, you?
