So finally Bani is giving a go for the raelationship. All are guards are coming down. Hopefully now the family will also accpet the same way as Jai and not make a wrong move to hinder the progress.

Well, I am posting the next part. Here it goes....

Part 28

That evening, when Pushkar reached home, he decided that he would inform his family about Bani's pregnancy. He did not want to create any awkward situation. Now that Bani is happy, he did not want any complaints reaching her ears. He came to the dinner table. Everyone was seated. They were waiting for him, in fact. Veer was giving a separate chair too. He was nearly two and half years old. So, it was high time, he start to practice eating by himself. He would be going to play school from the following academic year. Pushkar and Pia had got his admission already. Except that his shopping was remaining.

After all have started eating, he slowly said, "Aap sab se ek baat kehna hai." He got everyone's attention. "Aaj Jai Sir ka phone aaya tha. Woh keh rahe the ki Bani pregnant hai." He said and started eating.

Pushkar's parents just smiled. They were not fully aware of the whole situation, but they knew the crisp of the matter. Just like any parents would feel, they were happy.

Pushkar's mother asked, "Maayka kab aa rahi hai?"

Pushkar looked at Pia. "Woh sab unhone nahin bataya. Waise bhi, mujhe kahaan aise sawaal soojtha hai, Mummy?"

Pushkar mother asked Pia, "Pia, kya tumhari Bani se baat huyi?"

Pia looked at Pushkar, then at her mother-in-law. She shook her head saying, "Nahin Mummy. Mujhe toh abhi pata chala hai. Kal baat karti hoon."

Pia's mother said, "Haan, kar lo. Use achcha lagega. Aur tabiyat ka khayal rakhne ko kehna. Bahut zaroori hai."

Pia said, "Ji, Mummy." Her eyes fell on Veer eating clumsily. "Veer, kya kar rahe ho? Deekho poora sabji tumhare shirt pe hai." She said and picked the sabji that had fallen on his shirt.

The rest of the dinner went with Pushkar's mother speaking to Pushkar regarding their relatives.

After Pia came to bed after finishing the work in kitchen, she found Pushkar patting Veer to sleep. Pia took her night dress and went to change. By the time she came back, Veer had fallen asleep. Pia came and lied down on the other side of Veer.

After few minutes of silence, Pia called Pushkar. "Pushkar!"

"Hmm?"

"Bani ne humse kaha kyun nahin?" Pia asked.

Pushkar opened his eyes.

"Use humein batana chahiye naa? Bataya kyun nahin?" Pia asked.

"Pia… Jai Sir bataye ya Bani bataye, baat toh ek hi hai na?" Pushkar said.

"Baat ek nahin hai. Pata nahin maa, papa ko pata hai ki nahin!" She said.

Pushkar knew very well Nishikant and Kiran would not be knowing. He said casually. "Agar unhein pata nahin hai toh tum bata do…"

"Pushkar, tumhein baat samaj mein nahin aa raha hai… Woh toh humein avoid kar rahi hai." Pia said seriously.

Pushkar sighed. "You know what, tum baat ko bada rahi ho. Waise bhi, agar woh avoid kar rahi hai toh uski marzi. Hum kya kar sakte hai?"

"Avoid karne ki kya zaroorat hai?" Pia got angry at Pushkar siding Bani.

Pushkar frowned. "Kamaal hai! Sab kuch kaise bhool sakti ho, Pia? Yaad nahin uski shaadi kaise huyi thi? Tum logon se use avoid kiya tha…"

"Agar woh manmaani kare toh, hum dekhte rahenge kya?" Pia said.

Pushkar shook his head. This was not the time for argument. He had so much work the next day. "Pia, jo jaise bhi ho, ab mujhe neend aa rahi hai. Subah baat kar lenge. Good night, Pia." And closed his eyes giving no room for Pia to open her mouth.

Pia was still disappointed with Bani.

Next day morning, as per Jai's wish, Bani went to kitchen to help making breakfast. Anu had already woken up after taking enough rest the previous day. She sat on the kitchen cabinet and watched what everyone was doing. After sometime, she went to the living room and picked up the supplementary pages on the newspaper. She came back to the kitchen and started reading the paper.

After sometime, she noticed Bani making dosa. The color of the dosa looked different. She frowned. "Mami, kya bana rahi ho?"

"Dosa… Dosa jaise nahin lag raha kya?" Bani asked.

"Lekin is color mein kyun hai?" Anu asked.

"Actually, aate ki dosa hai. Aisa hi hota hai." She said and looked at the time. It was 7:45 AM. She switched off the gas and turned to Tony. "Main upar ja rahi hoon. Aap sab sambhaal lijiye."

"Ji, Ma'am." Tony said.

"Chal, hum chalte hai." She dragged Anu. "Tum jaake nahake aao. Breakfast ka time ho raha hai."

"C'mon Mami. Ghar pe hoon. Ab toh koi rules and regulations nahin hai." Anu whined.

Bani smiled. "Woh toh teek hai. Lekin, tumhari maa ko achcha nahin lagta. Kal dekha nahin, tumhein kaise ghoor rahi thi."

Anu shrugged carelessly. Then, as if she had come to a decision, she said, "Mami, soch rahi hoon ki aaj main papa aur mama ke saath office jaaon…"

"Hmmm… Kya karne ka irada hai?" Bani asked.

"Bas aise hi…" Anu said undecisively.

"Teek hai, pooch lo donon se. Teek hai, main upar jaa rahi hoon." Bani said. After Anu turned to go towards her room, Bani climbed the stairs.

Jai, when he came out after having bath, expecting his suit to be ready like the past two days. But it wasn't there. He sighed. He had just seen Bani once since morning, when she had brought tea for him. He went to the cupboard to pick up a suit when mobile rang. It was not his mobile. He went and picked up. Pushkar's name was displayed.

'Subah, subah!' Jai wondered and attended the call. "Hello! Jai Walia."

"Hello, jiju! Good morning… kaise hai aap? Ghar mein sab kaise hai?" A female voice said.

"Everyone is fine, Pia. How about there?"

"Yahaan sab teek hai… Congratulations to you both…"

"Thank you. Itni subah subah?"

"Ji, kya main Bani se baat kar sakti hoon?"

"Bani… Bani yahaan nahin hai. Neeche hai. Kya baat hai?"

"Bas usse bat karni thi."

"Any message or shall I ask her to call you back?"

"Mmm… use call karne ko kahiye…"

"Ya, I will do that."

"Bhool mat jaayiye…"

"Nahin bhoolonga, teek hai. Aur koi baat?"

"Aur kuch nahin… Bus, ek shikayat…"

Jai was surprised. "Mujhse?" He asked walking to his closet.

"Haan, aapne ne maa, papa ko yeh khush kabri nahin dii…"

Jai, who was opening the closet, stopped what he was doing. He did not know how to react. He never had any casual conversation with Bani's father, and her mother, need not be mentioned.

"Aur toh aur Bani ne bhi unhein nahin bataya…" Pia continued.

Jai could guess she did not call anyone as she was busy coping with herself. Also, he did not know whether she would be calling or not. Jai sighed.

"Jiju, yeh teek nahin hai…" Pia said.

By then, Bani has entered the room. Jai looked at her. Bani smiled at him. Jai did not want to steal the smile away from her face. He kept his forefinger on his mouth indicating her to stay quiet and pointed the closet indicating her to take out his clothes. Bani nodded and went to the closet.

"Dekho, Pia." Bani frowned and looked at him. He indicated her to stay quiet. She silently took out his clothes. Then he continued, "Main samaj sakta hoon ki tum kya keh rahi ho. Lekin, ek baat tum bhool rahi ho. Unhone abhi tak humare rishte ko accept nahin kiya. Tum bhi abhi ek-do haft eke pehle hi toh accept ki ho. Agar tumhein itna waqt laga toh unhein bhi waqt lagega. Isliye, jab tak unhein ehsaas nahin ho jaata hai ki humne galat nahin ki, tab tak hum intezaar karenge."

Bani was hearing to the one side of the conversation with a question.

Pia kept silent for some seconds, then she said, "Phir bhi, ab halaad badal gaya hai."

"Nahin, Pia. Kuch nahin badla. Agar woh log ab humein accept kar rahe hai toh woh humare liye bilkul nahin hoga. Aur mujhe woh mansoor nahin hai." Jai said firmly.

"Lekin—" Pia said.

"Lekin wekin kuch nahin. Lo Bani se baat karo." Jai gave the phone to Bani.

Bani got it from Jai's hand. "Hello, didi. Kaisi hai aap?" Jai took the clothes that Bani had laid for him and went to change.

Pia sighed. "Main teek hoon. Tum kaisi ho?"

"Ji, teek hoon… Aur batayiye, kya baat hai?"

"Kuch nahin. Bas tum donon ko congratulate karna tha." Pia said.

"Thanks." Bani smiled. She noticed Jai coming out after change buttoning his shirt. "Di, shaam ko phone karoon? Ab toh aapko kaam pe bhi jaana hai na?"

"Mmm… mujhe yaad dila rahi hai, tu… teek hai. Shaam ko baat karte hai. Apna khayal rakhna… teek hai?"

"Okay, didi…"

"Bye…"

"Bye!" Bani ended the call. She kept the mobile back on the night stand and went to Jai. "Breakfast tayyar hai."

"Hmmm…" Jai said as he wore the coat.

Bani went to the table and found the jug to be empty. She picked it up and turned to leave the room.

"Bani…!" Jai called when he found her leaving the room through the mirror. Bani turned back. "Tumne poocha nahin ki maine tumhari didi se kya baat kiya?"

Bani said, "Poochna tha kya?" Jai frowned and looked at her. Bani continued, "Maine socha agar mera jaanna zaroori hai toh aap hi mujhe bata denge."

Jai came to her and held her arms. "Tumhari didi se keh do ki subah phone mat kare…" Bani was taken aback. Jai continued, "Sach mein. Time waste hota hai. Shaam ko karne ko kaho."

Bani nodded her head. "Ji!"

Jai said, "Woh keh rahi thi ki humein tumhare parents se baat karni chahiye. Unhein ye khush kabri deni chahiye." Bani's face blanked. "Maine keh diya ki jab tak woh log humare rishtey ko nahin apnayenge, tab tak main baat nahin karoonga. Maine teek kaha na?"

Bani looked at him intently and said, "Mujhe nahin pata. Lekin… lekin woh kabhi humein apnayenge nahin…"

Jai frowned. "Kyun?"

Bani bent her head. "Bas…"

Jai raised her head by lifting her chin. "Tumhein aisa kyun lag raha hai?"

Bani did not say anything.

"Bani, kya baat hai? Tumne unse baat ki kya?"

Bani shook her head.

"Toh phir?"

"Bas aise hi…" Bani repeated.

Jai looked at her for few seconds. Then, he nodded his head. He went back to the dressing table and looked his image. Then he wore his watch and took his wallet. He walked to her and said, "Chalo…" and he walked out of the room with Bani. Wheh they reached out, he said, "Tum jao, main zara study mein hoke aata hoon." Bani nodded and walked down.

Jai walked towards the study. He collected the two sketches and safely kept it in his briefcase. He then went down for breakfast.

When he reached the dining table, everyone was already present. He took his seat and looked at the items present. There was a new item present, He frowned. He served himself 'poha' as usual and then took one piece of what looked like dosa. Seeing the different item, he guessed that it must have been experimented by none other than Bani.

He ate one piece. It was soft and little heavy. He looked at Bani, who was busy eating, and wondered whether to ask her what it was or not.

At that time, Anu spoke, "Mamu, aapne dosa try kiya? Bahut delicious hai. Aate se bana hai."

Jai got his answer. "Ya, right. Its very delicious." He polished off three dosa. Then, called it off. He decided to surprise her in the evening by framing the two sketches and hanging it in the study.

Everyone enjoyed the breakfast.

Aditya said, "Toh Bani, Humein roz naya naya items khane ko milega?"

Bani smiled.

Masi and Dadi were happy that at last someone was taking responsibility of the kitchen.

Jigyasa enjoyed the food. She complimented her frankly. She was surprised at Bani's behavior. She wondered whether it was the same girl who ran away from home one week ago… She decided to wait and watch.

After breakfasr, Bani walked with Aditya and Jai to the car closely followed by Jigyasa behind.

Jai was giving orders to her. "waqt pe khana kha lena. Zyada kaam nahin karna… aur haan, koi zaroorat ho toh mujhe phone karna. Teek hai?"

Bani giggled. "Office hi toh jaa rahe hai? Shaam ko aa jaayenge na…"

"Kyun?" Jai was puzzled.

Adiitya who came behind Bani put his arms around her said, "Aise orders de rahe ho jaise tum ek mahine ke liye outstation ja rahe ho…"

Bani stifled her laugh looking at embarrassed Jai.

"Ab chale?" he asked Jai.

"Haan… chalo…" Jai said narrowing his eyes at Bani. "Chaltha hoon."

Bani nodded her head smiling with closed mouth. Jai shook his head and left.

"Chalo Jigyasa… Bye, Bani." Aditya said and left. Bani nodded her head.

Jigyasa just touched her shoulders and left with both men.

I feel bad that they havent been accepted by the family as of yet. I feel deeply for them and I hope that her parents do accept them soon. I love how Jai openly talked to her about the situation rather than keeping it quiet. He handled Pia nicely. Love the cute instructions for her in the end.. :) nice part! continue soon!
