Get Grown up-article on Prachi

This rather nasty piece of writing appeared in today's (31 May) pull-out of the Indian Express, Bangalore edition. I quote:

'Does having a mother constantly by your side somehow affect your image? I'm getting really sick of these dysfunctional mother/daughter relationships in Bollywood. There is no reason for grown women like Prachi Desai (that strange little TV star who is suddenly becoming famous for no understandable reason) and Ayesha Takia to have mommy-dearest always within a 10 foot radius. Prachi Desai recently responded to allegations about some affair she was having by saying her mother goes everywhere with her, including dinner with her friends. Is she crazy? Her relationship with her mother sounds like Kareena's relationship with Saif."

This appeared in a section called Masala Chat written by someone who calls themselves Bollywood Birdie.

There are always 'Moral police' prowling around, to swoop on celebrities to write such articles.

If she doesn't have her mother circling around her like a hawk, then they perceive her as having an affair with co-stars, if she does, then she is a mamma's baby....

It's a catch22 situation, and unfortunately you need the 'Paparazzi' to make you famous.

I don't have a problem with her wanting to be famous and use marketing tactics to make herself appear in the articles everyday.

Prachi doesn't need her mother escorting her every where, but she might need a manager to take charge of her career and schedule. So if her mother is her manager, I have no issues with it.

Its all rubbish !!! I kno it must be like she loves her mother....the mother wud be quite possessive abt her ! but its fine !!! 😊

I think its good having mum around sometimes nothing wrong with that espcially i think in a industry like that even amrita rao use to take her mum not as much now because shes been around for a while also sheena said sometimes it for their image or to help them with their schedules etc, but i do think that sometimes these stars have other family members like prachis sister and dad live somewhere else that miss their mum but at the end of the day its between their family if they dont have a problem whats medias issue. Also media seems to be exagrating the extent of it as well i have never seen prachis mum on set only when they go to her house or out and about.

I know it sounds bad 😭 but tagging your mother along every way is a bit over the top 😆 you need to grow up your self 😳 sorry if Iam been harsh 😆
