Interview : Rock on, Prachi! (Article)

Excerpts from the Interview:

How does it feel to see yourself splashed everywhere now that the first look of your debut film Rock On is out?

(Grins) The feeling is just so wonderful. I haven't experimented much over the last two years. So I'm excited to see how people are going to react to this.

Going by the posters of the film, it wouldn't be wrong if everyone called Rock On an all-guys flick?

Well, it's a guys film to some extent since the film is all about a rock band involving four musical aspirants. I do play an important role in the film. But I simply don't have anything to do with the band. I guess that's why it comes across as an all-guys flick.

What role do you play in this film?

I play a cool, modern daygirl here. She is sweet, stylish and smart. I play Farhan's love interest in the film.

It was truly incredible. In fact I was taken aback to see Farhan act so well. Everyone has seen him shine behind the camera. Now they are going to see him glitter in front of it. Working with Abhishek was a whole new experience for me. It was great.

Since Rock On is all about music, how good do you think Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy's music have come up?

The music is just brilliant. It sounds all so real, as if you are amidst a real rock concert.

Since your fellow co-stars were senior to you, did they pull any prank on you considering you were the only baby on the sets?

Well, no. We had a ball shooting for this film. Apart from the guys, we had our own girl gang comprising of Shahana Goswami, Koel Purie, Nicolette and myself. We had a fabulous time hanging out on the sets.

So when do we see Rock On music hit the stores?

I believe that should happen anytime now since the posters of the film are already out.

I've just signed Abbas-Mustan's production venture Life Partner that will be directed by Rumi Jaffrey. That's all I can reveal at this point.

Any plans to go back to the small screen again?

It won't be easy juggling both television and films at a time. So I've decided to quit the television industry and concentrate more on films now.
