Bani: Hmm… Aap to Sonia ko invite kiya tha nah, aapki loti beti ke shaadi liye…paar aap to uski paas to jhaare bhi nahi… You are hiding from her like a coward… Bhaiya, what is wrong with you… (trans: You invited Sonia for your only daughter's wedding… but you are not even going near her)
Bani shakes her head in disappointment whereas Aditya just ignores her, not enjoying the recent topic they are discussing…
Aditya: (mumbles, grumpy) I am not a coward…
Bani: Then why don't you go on and talk with her? You are always going out with her to places, yet here at our home, you are acting like you do not even know her….Bechari is so bored and has been waiting for you to go talk to her ever since she had arrived…
Aditya: (uncomfortable) She'll understand… She knows that I… I'm not ready yet…
For the past month and a half, Aditya had been sharing a secret relationship with Sonia, a co-worker of his from the office…
(Hopefully you all remember Sonia, but just as a reminder she had a very small entry in the beginning of the FF, where Adi was looking for Bani right when she found out about JW's plans for her childhood home… Any bells ringing?)
It was obvious for many months that the two liked each other more than just friends, but neither were ready to confront one another… Up until Aditya finally got a big boost from Bani to propose his feelings to her… Sonia was elated and the two involved themselves into a sweet, secret romance, taking their relationship one day at a time… Aditya was sure of what he felt towards Sonia the day he realized he held more feelings for her than he really should… and that is true love. Yet he is nervous in revealing this to his family, especially his children, that he has fallen in love with an amazing woman… Not wanting to shock them that he is involved with a woman at his age and despite being a father of two eighteen year olds. He knows that the last thing his kids need is for him bringing another mother-figure into their lives, threatening their own mother's valuable place … For Saahil and Anu, it has always been him and his ex-wife… and that is how it's going to stay.
Bani: Bhaiya… it isn't wrong to talk to her… You know in this era, it actually is alright to have friends of the opposite sex…. People will not automatically conclude to assumptions… Please… go talk to her… I know that she is waiting for you….
Aditya flashes her a hesitant look and in return he receives a glare from her. Exasperated, he casts Bani a "Okay-you-win" look before walking off towards his girlfriend's direction….Bani smiles lightly on seeing Sonia's face brighten on the sight of Aditya joining her…and her lips curving into a shy smile…

Rano looks over from her brother-in-law's shoulders, catching Ranveer's eye, and gives him a small apologetic smile for the long amount of time Jai Walia has been purposely keeping her away from him… Their second song is just on the verge of finishing… She scrambles through her head for an idea… It isn't that she doesn't enjoy dancing with her Jiju, but he is proving to be a little difficult by the way he is behaving… coming in between her and Ranveer. And right now Rano badly wants to be with Ranveer… Her eyes wander around the hall until they locate her sister standing off the side of the dance floor with Lakshmi Sablok, the both chatting animatedly with one another…. Immediately a light bulb turns on in her head by the sight of her lovely sister. Slyly Rano turns her attention back to Jai….
Rano: Mr. Walia….
Jai: Yes, Rano?
Rano: (smiling softly) We're now about to dance into our third song, I think I should let you go….
Jai: Has it really been two?
Rano: Yes it has.
Jai catches Ranveer waiting impatiently nearby… He scowls inwardly….
Jai: I don't mind really…
"Okay, that didn't really work out…", she thinks momentarily to herself.
Rano: Mr. Walia, perhaps….
Rano slows down the movement of her feet and then halts into a complete subtle stop, Jai follows and stares at her curiously.
Rano: Perhaps you should dance with Didi instead. From the looks of it, she seems a little bored….
I am sure she will enjoy your company. (smiling hopefully)
On the mention of Bani, Jai's eyes hastily roam around the hall in search for his wife… It's been exactly two hours since he had been in close proximity of her and they were at the same party for goodness sakes… Finally they find her standing beside Lakshmi… her face shining brightly every time she smiles that gorgeous smile of hers…showing her white pearl teeth….with the two dimples on the sides of her cheeks… His heart skips a beat… Instantly he loosens his hold on Rano's hand and releases her…
Jai: (in a hypnotic daze) That is a wonderful suggestion, Rano… I think I will go on and do just that…
Rano: So… I can go on and dance with Ranveer now? (pushing her luck, watching his transfixed face carefully)
Jai waves her off with his hand as he begins to walk off the dance floor…
Jai: Do whatever you wish….
Rano watches with a wide smile as he brushes past the dancing couples on the stage and proceeds his way over to her sister, who is oblivious to his approaching arrival…

Bani: Didi, aap akele kyon aaye? Bhaiya kahan hai? (curious) (trans: Didi, why have you come alone? Where is Bhaiya?)
Lakshmi: (sighing) Don't get me started with that Bhaiya of yours, Bani… Mere baath to sunnte nahi hai… Kitne bhaar baatachuke hoon ke jacket yaan sweater pehno…. Kehte "Darling, …kaama kaam fikar kaarti ho tum…itana bhi taand nahi hai…." Aur dekhlo… Duffer bemaar hogaya…. (trans: He doesn't listen to me… I have told him countless of times to wear a jacket or a sweater… He says, "Darling, you are worrying for no reason…. It isn't even that cold…" Now look… The idiot has become sick….)
Bani giggles at this, knowing that this is typical of Tarun Sablok.
Lakshmi: Paar tum to jhaanti ho nah… Husbands never listen…. (trans: But you already know… Husbands never listen…)
As a reply, Bani smiles lightly… not wanting to comment on her statement… even though she knew it was very true… There were times when even she had warned her husband and whenever he did not listen, he was left regretting…. The incident in which he had skipped breakfast and sat anxiously with a hungry stomach through a board meeting which was held two months ago flashes through her thoughts, causing her smile to grow….
All of a sudden a teasing expression forms on Lakshmi's face… and a sly grin plays on her lips…
Lakshmi: Speaking of husbands… Here comes your handsome one right now….
Startled, Bani follows Lakshmi's gaze and her stomach twists in knots by his approaching presence… She blushes a pretty shade of pink from his gallant appearance… Nervously she tucks a strand of her hair behind her ear…and waits for him to come…
Lakshmi: My my Bhaiya… are you looking handsome… I swear I just saw half of the women here faint and four of them go straight to heaven when you were walking by…..
Bani instantly feels aware of herself by his intimidating tall form and smells the intoxicating scent of his cologne lingering around… Jai Walia grins devilishly…
Jai: Any reaction from yourself?
Lakshmi: Me? I had just experienced two heart attacks, thank you very much….
Jai chuckles as a response and kisses her affectionately on the cheek….
Jai: How are you, Lakshmi?
Lakshmi: Doing just fine… Now tell me, what brings you over here to the fun side?
Jai raises a brow at her in inquiry…
Jai: I was not informed that there are two sides to this party….
Lakshmi: Oh but there are…. Where ever Lakshmi Sablok decides to be, is the fun side….(winks)
Jai: Well I regret for not being over here before… (playing along)
Lakshmi: Did it finally occur to you? Is that why you have come here?
Jai: (smiling coyly) No, not really… I came here for my wife….
Bani stares up at Jai in surprise and blushes immediately as his eyes meet hers…. She looks away shyly…. Lakshmi makes a low whistle….
Lakshmi: And what could you possibly want from her?
Jai: Well once I saw that she was here with you, I knew I had to whisk her away for a dance to keep you away from her… The last thing I need is for your influence to rub off on her…
Lakshmi: (gasps) How mean… I am not some big bad wolf that your wife needs rescuing from….
Jai's insides melts on the sound of his wife's tinkling laughter…. He turns his attention back over to her… Extending his hand out towards her, his gray eyes bore into hers…. Bani's giggling subsides on seeing his focused gaze on her….
Jai: Will you care for a dance?
Bani gives Lakshmi a sly look and sees her smile in encouragement…Turning back to look at her husband, she shyly smiles and places her small feminine hand in his large strong ones…
Bani: I'd love to….. (softly)

Taking her by their joined hands, Jai leads her onto the dance floor and amongst the other dancing couples…. Lakshmi stands behind with a fond smile on her face, watching the couple with approval in her eyes…. He gathers her close by taking her by the waist and wrapping one of his hands with hers…. Bani as a response places her free hand on his shoulder….They smoothly proceed into the slow rhythmic dance….

"Ooops!", they hear a feminine voice speak in a witty tone. Jai looks up and catches the act of the woman's drink spilling over his wife's clothes…. Bani ignores the woman who had bumped into her for a moment as her eyes are preoccupied by the recent spill on her sari from the woman's drink….She grabs a fist full of her dress and examines the wet damage… upset for getting her new sari ruined for the evening. Jai angrily narrows his eyes at the woman…furious at what she had done.
"Oh Vani, I am so sorry… I didn't see you there… Oh my are you lucky that my drink is clear… it would had been a shame if any color got onto that pretty sari of yours….", she hears the same woman speak, but her voice proving to be more familiar to her ears…..Startled Bani stares up and meets Roshini Chopra's coy looking face, trying hard to keep a straight face and contain her growing smile… She eyes the half empty flute in her hand, strapped around her slender fingers….
"You may though want to rush to the washroom right away… you know, to get rid of the champagne's smell before your sari reeks with it…", Roshini continues wickedly, seeming mightily pleased with what she managed to have done.
Jai: How many champagnes did it take for you to become into such a slob? (biting tone)
Roshini: Jai, I didn't purposely spill my drink of your wife….
Jai: The hell you didn't…(infuriated)
Bani: Mr. Walia….
Her soft voice is enough to bring his attention back onto her….
Bani: I'm sure it was an accident…please don't get angry with Roshini ji….
Roshini: See Jai… even Vani agrees with me….
Jai: (correcting her) Bani. (curt, firm)
Bani backs away from Jai's hold and eyes the two ex-flames, clearly sensing the tension between them….
Bani: I'll be right back… I need to go to the restroom…
Jai: I'll wait for you here….
As Roshini sees Bani turn to leave, she stops her once again… saying in a non-believable tone, "I really am sorry, Bani…." Bani just nods her head and walks off….leaving her husband to fume silently behind with his ex….. '
A waiter walks by and Roshini neatly places her glass onto the tray…. She eyes Jai with a smirk….
Roshini: Chalo… aab tumhari paatni jhaachuke hai…..mujhe koi time to dawo…. How about a dance? For old time's sake? (trans: Now your wife has gone… give me some of your time…)
Jai switches his gaze back onto her and just glares…. He trots off, forgetting that he told Bani he'd be waiting off to the side of the stage, trying to get the curse called Roshini Chopra off his back….

Rano had heaved a sigh in relief on seeing Jai Walia fall into her distraction and instantly looked over in Ranveer's direction. She waited right there on the dance floor on seeing him come forth for her, but the two were surprised on seeing Saahil come in between and take Rano in the proper dance formation to dance… She fumed in his arms after seeing irritation form on Ranveer's face… and then walk back… She accusingly looked right up at him….
Rano: Saahil, what is this… Let me go… I am not dancing with you… You did not even ask me in the first place….
Saahil: Rano, don't worry… I'm not here to harass you like I always do … I'm just here to make amends….
Startled and confused, Rano calmed down and stared at Saahil with a blank expression…..
Rano: What do you mean amends?
Saahil: (sighs) Look, Rano… Four months back when you and your sisters landed up at our place…completely drenched from head to toe… needing a place to stay…. The way you stared at me like I was lower than filth…. And the rude comments you always directed towards me whenever I tried to be friendly…. It… It didn't have the kind of affect on me that it really should had…. Any normal guy's reaction would had been to leave you alone for good and never come near you… but it only pulled me closer to you… I was in awe by your behavior with me… Never in my life had anyone, any girl for the matter, acted so indifferent with me… I was and am used to having countless of attention from girls… I don't even have to put any effort… They all just fawn over me….
Rano: (disgusted) This is your way of amends? By explaining to me how irresistible of a guy you are? Well you know what Saahil Bali-----
Frustrated, Saahil covered Rano's mouth with his hand and waited till her muffled attempts of talking died down…..
Saahil: But you….. You Rano Dixit… an ordinary girl from a small town who has no fashion sense like the rest of the girls….rarely puts on any make up… wears glasses even though this is the age of contacts….reads books for fun! (chuckles at that bit)
Rano widened her eyes at him, showing him that she was clearly offended by his words…. He first praised himself before him and now insulted her? Really.. The guy's definition of amends was fascinating….
Saahil: You… you intrigued me…. You were different from the rest of the girls I knew… and I liked that change… I wanted that change… You were proving to be appealing to me by each passing day… and your un-interested attitude towards me only increased it…. I liked the challenge of trying to get you to like me… It gave me something to do… But once I saw you with that Robby dude---
Rano spoke at that second, but it came out as incomprehensible….
Saahil: Pardon?
He watched as she took his hand off of her mouth…..
Rano: It's Ranveer, not Robby….
Saahil: Yeah, whatever…. When I saw you with him… It got me thinking… that no matter how hard I try, you will never give me a chance… because the truth is… we just aren't cut out to be together… You're into studying…and are so focused on becoming something in life… that it intimidates me sometimes…I mean, I'm just a guy who's trying to at least pass the University… I'm into partying and fooling around… I spend my time hanging out with friends… I don't need to worry about my future because like you had countless of times told me before… I'm a rich boy and am guaranteed a secure life…. And even if we do magically get together, I will never be compatible enough for you….
Rano's expression softened a little as she heard the words coming out from Saahil's mouth, knowing that he was having a hard time admitting that to her…. And respected him for doing so….
Saahil: So… what I really want to say is… that I have finally accepted the truth…. We're just not meant to be…. What I felt for you… it was just a crazy want for something new…. Which I am slowly recovering from…. But I do want to give you and Ranveer good wishes… You two make a good couple….(giving her a sad smile)
Saahil released a dumbfounded Rano and made an attempt to leave, but was immediately prevented by Rano's hand seizing his arm in a hold…. She turned him back over to her and saw him wearing a puzzled expression…..
Rano: Saahil….. I-… I don't even know where to begin….. I was so wrong about you…. About everything I ever thought about you…. You've just proven to me that you aren't such a jerk as you make yourself seem… and Saahil, I'm sorry about always giving you a rough time… I hope you know that I never meant a word of it… I don't think you're a moron nor a dunce…. You're a bright kid… you're just too lazy to try…. (weak smile)
Saahil smiled faintly as a response….
Rano: You know that this doesn't have to mean goodbye for ever? I mean, given our situation… it's kind of not possible considering that I live with you…..
Rano laughed on seeing Saahil rub the back of his neck and swear under his breath…..
Saahil: I didn't really think about that…..
Rano: Look, Saahil…. Romantically we obviously can't work out…. But as friends…. I'm pretty sure we can try….. What do you say?
Saahil stared into her warm smiling face and couldn't help but smile himself….
Saahil: I say, you're going to regret this Rano Dixit…..
Rano: I'm sure I will… (laughing)

Ranveer takes Rano back into his arms after much waiting and resumes with dancing with her… now with no interruptions with Saahil gone and his boss leaving the dance floor in a grouchy mood and with some woman following closely behind….
Rano: (smiling) He apologized….
Ranveer: (raises a brow) He did? For what?
Rano: For everything….
Rano fills him in on what Saahil had said to her and Ranveer listens on curiously.
Rano: Ranveer… I was so wrong about him…. He really is a nice guy….and actually pretty funny too… he's got a great personality when you really get to know him…..
Ranveer: (irritated with her new likeness towards Saahil) Sure he does…
Rano bites down on her lip, preventing a smile from forming…. Does she sense jealousy?
Rano: Are you jealous?
Ranveer: (startled) What?
Rano: Are you jealous?
Ranveer: Jealous of what?
Rano: Of Saahil….
Ranveer: Why would I be jealous of him? (disbelief)
Rano: (innocently, shrugging her shoulders) I don't know… maybe because I'm talking so fondly about him now…and you're probably thinking that I like him more….
Ranveer: More?
Rano: Yes more… more than you?
Ranveer: Don't be ridiculous…. I-I don't care…. Really…
Rano: (downcast, whispers) But I do….
Ranveer: Sorry? What'd you say?
Rano: I said that I do…. I care….
Ranveer narrows his gaze on her…. Not understanding what she's trying to say….
Ranveer: And why would you care?
Rano gives him a meek smile before continuing….
Rano: Isn't it obvious Ranveer?
Ranveer: What's obvious Rano?
Rano:….. How much I love you?
She watches as she silences him and puts him into a daze of thinking…..he looks away from her….
Rano: (nervous) Ranveer?
Ranveer: I really wish you hadn't said that, Rano….
Rano: Why not? (hurt)
Ranveer: (looking back at her) …. Rano… I'm not that big of a fool as you think I am…. I am aware that you are in love with me… have been for awhile now…
Rano: (stung by his tone) I never thought of you as a fool…. And how can you possibly know when I'm telling you just now?
Ranveer: (sad smile) The way you always look at me with that dreamy look in your eyes… how you blush and become so shy whenever I'm around… the way your face brightens whenever you see me… you're always enquiring about me from Nisha….
Rano: (cuts in, mumbles) Not always….
Ranveer: and for some odd reason we've been bumping into each other at the coffee house for the past few days… even a dunce can put two and two together and figure out that you're in love with me…. And all I have to say Rano is that it's wrong….
Rano flashes him a questioning look.
Ranveer: Wrong because…. Well Rano… you're just eighteen… and I'm seven years older than you…. You shouldn't get involved with an older guy at your age….
Rano: Ranveer, I am no child…..
Ranveer: You aren't… but you're still too young….
Rano: Ranveer, I love you… age shouldn't matter in love….
Ranveer: You're right… it shouldn't…. but I just won't feel morally right…. *sighs* I really hate myself for leading you on…. I shouldn't had gotten closer to you… I knew it wasn't the right thing to do….
Rano: (tears in her eyes) Is there someone else? Is that why you're coming up with lame excuses? Or you just don't like me in that way?
Ranveer: Believe me Rano… if I was involved with some one else I wouldn't be wasting my time spending it with you for the past few days….
Rano: So it's just that you don't like me….
Ranveer takes Rano's chin by his index finger and lifts her face up… making her meet his gaze….she blinks her tears away….
Ranveer: If only you knew how I really feel about you….
Rano: Then why don't you tell me? (softly asks)
Ranveer: (exasperated) … Rano… I like you a lot more than I really should… and I'm afraid that I might even be in love with you (feeling weak and helpless) …. But it's not appropriate…. We can't be together… at least not right now…
Rano: Then when? When will I be old enough for you?
Ranveer:… When you come to a suitable marriageable age….say 24 or 25.…
Rano: (retorts) I'm not waiting for you for THAT long Ranveer Sharma…. I'm not that patient as you take me….
Ranveer: Twenty-three?
Rano: Why not when I'm twenty?
Ranveer: (shakes his head) No….
Rano: Why not? You can't possible say that I'll still be too young….
Ranveer ponders for a few silent moments before speaking once again…..
Ranveer: Twenty-one….
Rano opens her mouth to protest, but Ranveer silences her by cutting her off….
Ranveer: I'm not moving it any lower…. Twenty-one or it's back up to twenty-four…. You'll legally be an adult by then…. and I'll feel much better….
Rano: (grumbles) You are so old-fashioned….I can't believe I'm in love with a guy like you…. You know girls who are eighteen are getting married nowadays…. As in for an example, your Adi sir's daughter!
Ranveer: … You can't blame me for falling in love with me… that's your fault alone….
Rano: (grumbles)…… So what… when I turn 21 you'll mystically appear before me and marry me?
Ranveer: (coy grin) Who said that I'm going anywhere? … I"ll be right here with you…. We can still be friends, Rano….
Rano opens her mouth once again to say something, but Ranveer silences her immediately….
Ranveer: (annoyed) Dixit, why are you being so difficult?
Rano smiles a little at this and wraps her arms around his neck and then gives him a cheeky smile….
Rano: You're the one who wants to be with this difficult girl…..
Ranveer smiles at this as Rano giggles…

Bani grabs a handful of napkins and begins to dab them on her saree and silently curses Roshini Chopra under her breath…. Hearing the flushing of a toilet and the opening of a stall startles her and she whirls around to see who it is…. She had thought she was alone…. She is greeted with a delightful surprise on seeing Sonali Sharma (no relation to Ranveer Sharma) standing before her, looking elegantly beautiful as always in a pretty green saree….
Bani: Sonali, aap? (instantly cheerful)
Sonali: Bani, it's been too long…. (smiling in return)
Sonali pulls Bani into a warm, affectionate hug…. As they pull apart, Bani stares at her with confusion….
Bani: I heard you went to London…. How are you here?
Sonali: I did go for a movie of mine, but it didn't turn out so well… Hence I came back to India…. And I got the invitation so decided to come meet my favorite people…..
Bani: I am so glad you are here… (taking her hands in hers) But tell me, have you been celebrating Anu's engagement here in the bathroom for the past hour? (joking)
Sonali: (laughs) No no, I just came and had to use the bathroom quickly before I went inside for the party…. Now tell me, why were you bad-mouthing Roshini Chopra a few seconds ago?
Bani looks down embarrassed.
Bani: I thought no one was here….
Sonali: (laughs) Even if no one was here, anyone can hear you from miles away… You sound very angry… What happened? And how is Roshini Chopra responsible? From what I remember, she hasn't been in India for the last seven years…. How do you know of her?
Bani narrates the latest of Roshini Chopra, what she did, and even informs that she knows she is her husband's ex…
Sonali: Here let me help you clean that spill….
She wets one of the napkins and rewets the spill….as she does this… she makes conversation….
Sonali: So… how are things from since I've left you?
Bani: Matlab? (trans: Meaning?)
Sonali: Matlab… tumhara aur Jai ka rishta kaise chaalrah hai… How are things between the two of you?
Bani: (uncomfortable, shy) … Saab kuch teek hai… Aab woh baadulchuke hai… (trans: Everything's fine…. Now he has changed…)
Sonali: Kaise? (trans: How?)
Bani informs the change in her husband's behavior for the last month and a half…. Sonali's smiles in approval…. She helps Bani in blow-drying her saree with the hand dryer in the restroom….
Sonali: I knew he would get out of the phase…. And start taking his marriage seriously….
Bani:… (hesitantly) Sonali…..
Sonali: Hain Bani?
Bani: Kya aap… kya aap mujhe… Roshini ke bhaare mein baatasakte…. yaani ke…. Uska parana rishta… Mr. Walia se…. (trans: Will you… Will you tell me about Roshini….what I mean is… her old relationship with Mr. Walia?)
Sonali wears a thoughtful expression on her face and is silent for a good few moments, disheartening Bani in the process until she speaks…..
Sonali: Roshini and Jai fell in love in their senior year of college….. everyone expected them to get married since they continued dating years after college… I had been friends with them both since college also…. And when Jai was twenty-eight… his mausi pestered him into getting married soon… and Jai had thought that the right woman for him was Roshini….. I went with him to find Roshini the perfect engagement ring…. I even helped Jai in planning for the dinner in which he will ask her to become his wife…. I rehearsed his lines with him…. All that was left was to wait for Roshini…. Roshini had gone to Europe to pursue her dreams in becoming a model a few weeks before…. She was supposed to be coming to dinner straight from the airport… I went to welcome her… the next I saw Jai was at my house late at night… He was heart broken and furious… He told me that Roshini rejected his proposal in order to be a successful model, she can't be tied down now…. And during her time in Europe, she had gone to France and indulged herself into a romantic affair with a French man… This man could also help her into achieving her long time dreams of becoming a famous model…. Roshini told Jai that she started to fall in love with him…. She told him that he understood her dreams and was willing to wait for a lifetime for her…. The next couple of days Jai and I found out that Roshini moved to London permanently taking her things with her… And I haven't heard of her since then…..
Sonali looks up to see Bani's troubled face and places a hand on her shoulder….
Sonali: Bani… Roshini Chopra was Jai's past… and will remain so…. Jai loathes the even thought about her…. You don't need to feel threatened by her….
Bani smiles weakly at her, showing her that she understands…. Sonali looks back down at Bani's saree….
Sonali: Well now… my job here is done… Your saree looks just as new….
Bani: Thank you….
Sonali: Anything for you… We should go out now… We've been in here for awhile and bechara Jai must be still waiting for you….
Bani laughs along with Sonali and joins her in walking out of the restroom….They walk back into the hall, immersing themselves into the crowd of people… Halfway through someone stops Sonali on recognizing her and Bani reassures Sonali that she'll be fine on her own….
Going back over to the dance floor, where she had left Jai and Roshini together, Bani finds no one there and searches around… wondering where he can be….

Jai seeks refuge outside, finding a doorway to a balcony… He lets himself through and stands nearby the railing of the balcony….taking in the fresh air into his lungs… and trying to put peace into his mind… Having the dire need to smoke, Jai pulls out a cigarette and pushes it into his mouth… Hurriedly he searches his pockets for his lighter… however, he's startled to someone's hand come forth, holding a burning lighter for him…. He turns and swears on seeing Roshini following him here… She lights his cigarette for him….
Roshini: It's nice to know that something about you hasn't changed, Jai….
Staring at her with furious eyes, Jai pulls out his burning cigarette and throws it down onto the balcony, then crushing it underneath his shoe…. Roshini watches this, only seeming amused….
Jai: You don't know when to leave a man alone, do you?
Roshini: I will chase you around the world, if I have to Jai Walia….
Jai: (glaring at her) I'd rather you not… besides, why waste time chasing a man who obviously isn't interested?
Roshini: That man can also be making a farce of not being interested?
Jai stares at her in amazement, astonished that no matter what she just won't give up…. nor will understand when it's been enough… Roshini nears closer to him, presenting her body in a seductive manner….
Roshini: This Vani….
Jai: Bani…(curt)
Roshini: (rolls her eyes) Whatever… This Bani… I know she can never keep you happy…. At least not as much as I was able to….
She takes her fingers and strokes his face with them… Jai brushes them aside…
Roshini: The real reason why you even married the poor girl …. Was because you wanted to seek revenge from me…you did it to spite me.
She takes a fistful of his coat and brings herself against him…. Slowly Jai feels her leg rising in an up and down motion against his in an inviting manner….
Roshini: Let's face it….You're still in love with me, Jai Walia…you never stopped… No one ever gets over their first love…. and that includes you….

Bani moves away from the balcony doors in astonishment… She watches the image of her husband wrapped around in another woman's arms turn blurry with her rushing tears….She feels something tightening around her heart….and her breathing failing her…. Covering her mouth with a hand to keep herself from making a sound so she won't give herself away, Bani flees from there soundlessly….
The words "They make a nice couple and once had loved each other a lot…" "everyone expected them to get married" "You're still in love with me, Jai Walia…" "No one ever gets over their first love" replay in her head over and over like a never ending reel….

Jai withdraws Roshini away from him in disgust, making her compose herself and her behavior….
Jai: You're right Roshini… No one ever does forget their first love… But they certainly move on… Perhaps you are getting a little too cocky and prideful over the fact that you shared a relationship with me once…. Let me remind you Roshini that it was indeed once…. And a very long time ago…. The past can never be brought back into one's present and future… that is why it's called the past…. And how could you possible think that I married Bani only in order to get back at you? That too after seven long years? ….. I assure you that I'm not the same broken man you had left behind with satisfaction…. My wounds have healed over time… and I am living a much better life than I could possibly have thought of….
He watches his words having an affect on a dumbfound Roshini, who stares at him with offended eyes….
Jai: (getting frustrated) What are you doing back here anyways Roshini? After so many years? Did Pierre not wait for you like he promised he would?
Jai sees that he has hit a nerve as Roshini's eyes hastily look away from his…trying to conceal the hurtful blow she has received from his remark…
Jai: Hmmm… I'm assuming he didn't… Which is why you thought of me and came back to re-patch things between us… Roshini, I'm not some toy that you can throw away and come back to… I'm a man… a human being… I've moved on… and I suggest you should do the same…
And with that, Jai Walia storms out from the terrace leaving Roshini brooding alone in painful thoughts…. rethinking everything about her life…

Jai makes his entrance back into the party but only to find no sign of his wife around… Puzzled, he searches around for her, even questioning about her presence, but to no avail….
He becomes startled on feeling a hand on his shoulder from behind… Turning around he finds his Mausi staring at him with concern….
Mausi: Kya hua, Munna? (soothingly asks) Why do you look so hassled?
Jai: Mausi, have you seen Bani? I've been looking for her for awhile but no one knows where she is….
Mausi: Arre Beta, woh to ghaar jhaachuke hai… (trans: She has gone home…)
Jai: (stunned) Kya? Kya hua usko? Ghaar kyon chalaagaye?(trans: What? What happened to her? Why did she go home?)
Mausi: Kaehri thi ki uski tabiyaat kuch teek nahi hai… aur aaram kaarne chaati hai… (trans: She was saying that she wasn't feeling well… and that she wishes to rest…)
Jai: Kiske saath gaaye hai woh? (trans: Who has she gone with?)
Mausi: She went by herself, Munna… I told her to take you along… I don't feel right having her all alone at home… But she said you were busy…. I didn't bother to stop her because she did seem a little unwell…
Upset with his wife for going alone, Jai turns to leave, but is immediately stopped by a confused Mausi…
Mausi: Arre Munna, tum kahan jhaare ho? (trans: Arre Munna, where are you going?)
Jai: Ghar Mausi… (trans: Home Mausi…) To see if Bani's alright….

Bani tries her best to keep herself in check and to conceal the sorrow on her wearied out face…. She allows herself in as she sees Tony move inside, giving her a passageway into the Mansion….
Bani: (her voice cracking) Hain woh…. Mera taabiyat kuch teek nahi hai… isliye… (trans: I'm not feeling so well… that's why…)
Tony: (automatically concerned) Kya aapko kuch chaaye, Ma'am? --Aap baatiye main aapke liye koi daawai laake aata hoon… (trans: Do you need anything Ma'am?--- Please sit… I will get some medicine for you…)
Bani raises her hand gently to prevent him from doing so… She then raises it to her forehead, touching it lightly with her fingers… feeling a little dizzy from the continuous crying she had done on her way back here….
Bani: Nahi… tum jao… main teek hoon… I will just go lay in my room… Thank you… (trans: No… You go… I'm fine…)
Tony: Ji…
Tony respectfully bows a little before leaving Bani alone in peace… She wanders by herself through the dark, hallow Mansion… reaching the stairs and climbing them with weak effort… As she approaches her room, she closes it shut and explodes into a fresh new set of tears…. The sight of Jai with Roshini haunts her mind…and pierces her heart even further….
She has lost her true love… the only man she ever and will ever love…
He wasn't even yours to begin with Bani… a voice whispers from within her mind…
Why does fate have to be so cruel to her? Why did it bring her into Jai Walia's life if she wasn't even destined to have him? Why did it make her fall in love with him even though knowing very well he wasn't capable of loving her back? Why? …. That was all she wanted to ask…. Why?

Tony opens the door once again after ten minutes to be greeted by his master who looks slightly troubled… Confused and startled, the butler lets him into his home….
Tony: Sir… aap?
Jai: (demanding) Tony, Bani kahan hai? (trans: Tony, where is Bani?)
Tony: Sir, Bani Ma'am aapne kaamre mein hai… (still puzzled) (trans: Sir, Bani ma'am is in her room…)
Before Tony even has the chance to ask if everything's alright, Jai rushes from the front entrance and towards his room…. He shakes his head after him… not understanding what is going on between husband and wife….

As Jai entered his room, he found Bani standing alone in the middle of the room…her back turned faced to him….looking out of the window in front of her… lost in a world of her own…. He sees her shoulders become tensed as he closes and locks the door behind them….

Bani's heart beats rapidly out of anticipation on hearing his ominous footsteps nearing… She quickly brushes away her tears with the back of her hand and lets in a stuttering breath into her… trying to calm down her nerves… and bring herself back together…. Suddenly his footsteps halt….
Jai: Bani….
His voice lingers in the air…. She remains quiet… not answering him…. He calls out to her again… She hears him sigh tiredly…
Jai: Why have you come home? Why did you leave the party?--- That too… alone? (questioning)
Hearing no reply from her, Jai approaches her, standing right beside her… and turns to the side to look at her… He is surprised in seeing her trying to hold back tears… Startled, Jai fully turns his body in her direction… focusing his complete attention on her…
Jai: Bani… kya hua? … Tum rohrahi kyon? … (trans: Bani… what happened? … Why are you crying?) (concerned)
Bani bites down on her trembling lip as she feels water rebuild in her eyes… and her throat aching from forcing back the tears…
Jai: Bani… what happened? (softly)
Bani breaks into gentle sobs and moves away from him, turning her back on him again….
Bani: K-k-kuch nahi Mr. Walia… K-kuch nahi hua mere saath… m-mera tabiyaat bus kuch teek nahi hai… mera sirh gumhara hai… isliye main-main party ko chorke yahan aaye…. (trans: N-nothing Mr. Walia… N-nothing has happened to me…. It's just that I'm not feeling to well… My head is spinning… that is why I have left the party and have come here…)
Jai: (not believing her)…. So many tears… and that too for a headache?
Bani: Hain main… main… (crying in between, trying to take in some breaths into her)
Jai: (worried) Bani, why don't you lay down then? Take some medicine and rest…
Bani: Main-main… main teek hojaani… bus sirh…… Paar… Paar aap kyun aaye hai? Aap party ko chorke yahan kyon aaye? (Trans: I-I… I will be fine… it's just my head… But… But why have you come here? Why did you leave the party and come here?)
Not liking talking to her back, Jai walks around to face her… he's even more stunned on seeing tears streaming down her face endlessly… he feels his heart wrench on the sight….
Jai: (stumbling over his words)… Bani… I-I came here for you… I was worried….
Bani: Main… Main teek hoon Mr. Walia… aapko chinta kaarnliye koi zaroort nahi hai… aap aapne bhaanji ke engagement ko chorke nahi kaarna chaaye tha… Aap wapas jaaye…. Aapko jhaane chaaye… Woh aap keliye intezaar khar rahi hogi…. (trans: I… I am find, Mr. Walia… You don't need to worry… You shouldn't have left your niece's engagement… Go back… You have to go… She will be waiting for you….)
Jai: Bani…
Jai takes her arms in his hands and brings her towards him… trying to get her to look at him… He stares intently into her face…
Jai: Bani main party ko chorke tumhare liye aaye hai… (trans: Bani I left the party for you…)
Bani: (sobbing) … Aapko jhaane chaaye…. Woh aapke liye intezaar---- (trans: You have to go… She is waiting---)
Jai: Bani, woh kaun hai? (getting frustrated with her lack of understanding) (trans: Bani, who is she?)
All Bani wants to do is to be able to cry in peace… cry over her broken heart… She doesn't want him to see….see how much he has hurt her… see how weak she has become in his love… Agitated, she struggles against his hold on her and successfully lets herself free. She thrusts his hands away from her…
Bani: Please Mr. Walia! … Don't act nave!… Just go to her!!!
Appalled by her behavior, Jai backs away and takes in her broken state…. She continues to weep… and buries her face into her hands… He wants to take her into his arms… soothe her down… give her some peace…. take care of her…. But he's confused….confused with what is wrong with her… confused on how to handle the situation…. After a few silent moments, Jai hears her mumble in between sobs through her fingers…
Bani: I… I saw you with her…. You and Roshini…. in.. in each other's arms…
Shock quickly registers onto Jai's face… She had been there? She saw them together? But did she not stay to hear what he had said back? … No… Obviously she hadn't… She must had just witnessed Roshini's inexcusable behavior…and left from there… He needs to make her understand… understand that there's nothing between him and Roshini…
Bani wipes away her tears with her hands and breathes out a sharp gasp… She doesn't meet Jai's thoughtful eyes…
Bani: … Please go Mr. Walia… Please… don't worry about me… You-you can go to her… (her voice barely audible)
Jai once again comes close to her and gently places his hands on her shoulders…steering her body towards him…
Jai: Bani… joh kuch tum sochraehi ho… woh saab galat hai….mere aur Roshini ke beech kuch nahi hai--- (trans: Bani… whatever you are thinking… it's all wrong… there's nothing between me and Roshini---)
Bani: Mr. Walia, please! (crying) Mu-mujhe kuch nahi sunna….aap bus please jaaye…. (pleading) (trans: I don't want to hear anything… just please go…)
She wriggles her shoulders out of his hold and moves away from him… Jai follows… hell bent on making her see sense….
Jai: Bani… Bani…
He takes a grip on her wrist, stopping her from walking away from him…. He tightens his hold on seeing her struggling to let herself free….Jai pulls her back over to him…and takes possession of her upper arms again….
Jai: Bani… look at me…. (tone full of authority)
Bani stubbornly keeps her head lowered down….not heeding to his words… she shrugs his hands off of her….and turns her face in the other direction, continuing to let salty tears flow from her eyes….
Jai, not giving up or in the mood to be refused to, takes a hold of Bani's face in his hands, cupping her cheeks, and switches her gaze back over to him….
Jai: Look at me…. (husky)
Slowly her swollen eyes rise and stare up at him… His heart lurches on seeing teardrops rolling down her rosy cheeks… Tears that were caused by him…. He silently curses himself for allowing her to get hurt like this… especially when it's due to him. Jai gently wipes another tear with his thumb and gazes at his gorgeous young wife….awestruck at the moment. She looks so achingly beautiful despite her welling eyes and slight pink nose from her crying… her fair skin glowing radiantly from the moonlight centered on her from the shining full moon through the uncovered windows… her silky black hair resting on her shoulders… fluttering long, curly eyelashes overlapping mystical hazel eyes…. Pink colored cheeks…adding more of an effect…. Luscious full lips slightly opened as she takes soft shaky breaths….For a second he felt like he was staring at a Goddess…. attractive and completely desirable …so breathtakingly beautiful….
*Warning*: For those of you who are not comfortable with intimate scenes, i strongly suggest you skip over this part. I haven't gotten into graphic details, i've made it clean as possible, but still i recommend to skip over if you're not comfortable. i don't want to hear any complaints later on.

A strong uncontrollable need to ravish his innocent wife to satisfy his hunger…. D*mn her…. D*mn her and her seductive beauty….why does she have to look so unbelievably appealing? That saree of hers is hugging her in all of the right places… presenting her tempting feminine curves to his greedy eyes… her perfect slender body…. No, he cannot turn back… and will not…. He has had enough with waiting…enough with fighting against his emotions… the truth is that he wants this woman in front of him… and that too badly.

Before kissing her once more…. claiming her lips with his. Bani lightly places a hand on his chest as she responds back …kissing him with same mixed emotions…
He is at first gentle and sweet…exploring the wonders of her mouth….tasting her…savoring the touch of her soft petal like lips against his… but soon it becomes into a raw hunger…demanding….passionate… and eager. Unknowingly Jai steps closer, letting his hands leave her warm face and placing them on either sides of her hips, pulling her frame close to his… she retreats back and lets out a tiny gasp as she feels her back meet the wall behind her… He runs his fingers through her tresses and pulls her head back, giving him clear access to her bare neck….where he showers butterfly like kisses on the column of her throat….A shiver runs down Bani's back and she begins to feel suffocated from the building heat between them…. Her knees go weak as his kisses lower down her collarbone….nearing her cleavage…. She takes a fistful of his shirt into her hands as she slowly begins to melt from his tormenting torture…
Jai crushes his lips against hers yet again, sucking on her bottom lip…then teasingly kissing her on the corners of her mouth until she lightly moans in protest… He takes his hand that rested on her shoulder and purposely takes a grip of her dress, sliding it off from it's place, and letting it fall carelessly onto the marble floor. His hands now take possession of her n*ked waist as he continues to ravish her with burning need….
Bani startles Jai as she withdraws herself from him, pulling her lips away, pushing him gently back with her shaky hands and rushing over to the windows, leaning front towards the windowpane….trying to regain her breath and calm her racing heart….
Jai drinks in the sight of her not properly covered….her almost bare back revealed to him…the small deep cut blouse still around her….for not too long though. Bani tightens her hold on the edge of the window frame as she senses his presence nearing…
He shifts her hair off to one side and places kisses one by one down her back… she tilts her head over to the other side as he then kisses her teasingly from her earlobe, down her neck, …..and her n*ked shoulders after he pulls down the sleeves to her blouse. His hand travels to the front of her stomach and he feels her relax herself against his chest….Jai turns her around and presses her back against the windowpane…Bani closes her eyes… not having the courage and too shy to look back at him… She feels his fingers stroking her stomach, creating havoc in her system…
Lowering down onto his knees…meeting with her creamy midriff… Jai gives into his want and kisses her there… outlining his tongue around her navel… playfully biting her skin gently… Bani keeps her hands against the wall behind her, not trusting them to wander…tilting her head up out of pleasure…keeping her eyelids firmly closed… He begins to take out the pleats to her saree….and aimlessly removes the dress away…. leaving Bani standing in only a blouse and long skirt…. making her feel very self conscious and aware of her revealed body….
Jai rises and stares at her shut eyes….how angelic she looks… biting her bottom lip nervously…. This is her first time… and it gives him secret delight that he will be the very first to claim her….to touch her….to take her to the wonders of pleasure… to make love to her. He nuzzles her neck while Bani slides her fingers into his thick hair… not able to withhold herself any longer. What this man is doing to her is driving her insane…bringing out unknown lust and passion from within her….
"You're so beautiful…", he murmurs to her right before biting her fervently below her neck… Bani softly gasps as she leans her head backwards….arching her back also… "Please….", is all that escapes from her mouth…. She did not know if she were asking him to stop with his cruel punishment…or to continue on with it…her mind was terribly fuzzy at the moment….
Increasingly becoming impatient in claiming her, Jai sweeps Bani off of her feet….carrying her in his muscular built arms… and walks her over to their empty bed….laying her subtly onto the large mattress… and towers over her…. his dark passion filled eyes silently watching her breathe….her chest falling and rising repeatedly in a seductive manner….Caressingly, he runs his fingers through the silky strands of her hairs… and he leans in forward to kiss her as he sees her eyes flutter open….
In the act of ravishing her lips, Jai places a hand behind the base of her neck as the other rests against the side of her stomach, holding her in place…. He kicks off his shoes and brings his legs onto the bed….now having his whole body hovering over hers…. He rolls over, pulling her on top of him….letting his hands roam around her smooth back… his fingers meet with the doris of her blouse and he does not hesitate in pulling on them, loosening the hold of the material over her upper body….
Soon his hard, aroused body meets with his wife's delicate one and he takes her to a world full of bliss… and pleasure… handling her with great care… cherishing her…loving her…. . Bani allows him to do whatever he wishes with her, responding equally back with enthusiasm of her own… her insides sizzling….
