That evening when Jai returned he found his home unusually quiet, he knew Jigyasa & Aditya had gone for a holiday, the children were out most probably as it was Friday night, Masi and dadi were attending an akhand path session in the mandir nearby….Jai thanked god, he could now confront Meera without worrying people are listening outside…
When he entered the room Meera was putting on her makeup to go out for the evening, even if she was surprised to see him early than his usual time, she did not say so but asked whether he would like to have a fresh change laid out in case he wishes to accompany her to the party she is going for…
Jai remained silent and stared at her reflection, until Meera caught his gaze…
Keya baath hai Jai, now what is wrong…I hope you will not start one of those fights once again, I cannot take it anymore, this party is very important and I am not going to ruin my mood…
Why is it important, you have a new fish to catch…

Meera refused to be bogged down, she picked up her phone to call masi and dadi to rescue her from Jai's clutches, she cannot take anymore of these accusations, Jai supplied one evidence after another, after a while in a heat of a moment she accepted…
Yes, toh keya kar loge aap, remember about the baadnami you will face Mr Jai Walia, so you better accept as I can never be happy with one man….he froze to see the change in Meera's face…her eyes make big, her mouth curled…mere ma kuch nehi kar saka toh aap keya karoge….how can you stop me….
Jai shook himself, is this girl normal and Lalita Bua knows about it…is it so…
Lekin Jai, I love you, don't worry I will ensure you have children, make a perfect wife, give you a good home but don't stop me….Jai was not listening, he was feeling sick, wanted to vomit…he got hold of her and dragged her downstairs, on the way picked up her car keys, went upto the main door and pushed her out, nikal jao mere ghar se and don't ever show your face to me…he had banged the door shut, walked off to the study refusing to hear to Meera's pleas…opened the bottle and drank directly….

Bani watched Rano, trying to sit still after the family left, she was looking at their engagement pictures for sometime, shed a few tears etc.,Bani felt bad for Rano…both Rano and Ranveer were hoping for a quick wedding, lekin yeh Jai Walia, isski toh, Bani once again cursed him….Though she was apprehensive of Rano's choice of husband at the beginning but after she met Ranveer, she liked him, his father, his two other siblings and of course the two old grandmothers were very cute, Jai Walia tried to be friendly but his sister was someone who reminded Bani of her own mother-in-law, other than that Bani had no problems to accept that Rano has indeed made a good choice….lekin at the end of the day naseeb apna apna, unless and until you live together under one roof you never know….
Bani Dixit was the apple of the eye of her family, she was a first girl child in her generation, her father and his 3 brothers were thrilled that goddess Laxmi has arrived and will do wonders to their business, infact that year they bought two new shops and their business reached a new height, Bani was treasured and spoilt by the family, even after Rano's birth two years later, Bani got all her wishes fulfilled, her brother and other cousins avoided to get into fights with her, incase they did and if Bani happened to report the same to her tau i.e Raghubir, they would be beaten black and blue without listening to any explanation…
One fine day, they had a visitor a lady by the name of Mrs Gauri Randheria, she was wife of one of the largest traders in Mt Abu, while the Dixits traded in grains mainly, the Randherias in textile and they had factories and looms, she came in with a proposal to ask for Bani's hand of her son Daksh, Bani it seemed passed his office cum shop every day while going to college and he noticed Bani, it took him sometime to find out who she actually was after that Daksh has been pestering his mother to come and visit Bani's family with his proposal….
The Dixits knew about Randheria's, though their circle was different they sometimes crossed each other's path and had exchanged basic courtesy…though Bani could not recollect having seen Daksh but seeing his photograph, the face looked familiar, yes this boy does watch when I pass his shop, thought Bani…
On an agreed date, Daksh came to formally see Bani and to talk about marriage with his parents…quite a likeable guy everybody found, smiled and laughed and won over everybody's heart, yes will be perfect for Bani, and with the permission of Bani's guardian took her mobile no., so that he could call her up…
Bani hamari dulari hai, beta theek se rakhna usse aur kuch nehi chahiye was Raghubir Tao's only request…
Yeh bhi koi bolne ki baath hai, Gauri intervened, hamari beti jaisi rahegi…
Agar len den ki baath ho jaye, ageh barne se pehle..matlab…

After a brief courtship under the vigilance of the family members, Bani and Daksh got married…Bani was happy, Daksh was a well mannered, pleasant looking man who was somewhat besotted to her, Bani's family was happy too, the family was quite well off and the best part it was they had no objection in Bani continuing her college after marriage and what more could Bani want, she was settling down in her home town…
As the ceremony got over and after a tearful bidai, Bani was a bit nervous and excited about the forthcoming suhag raat. When Bani entered holding a glass of milk, she heard the girls of Daksh's house laughing and joking behind her back, she ignored them and got in, the room was looking straight out of a film set…she stood admiring the flower decorations, the intricate jali hanging over the bed, the commotion outside the room increased, Daksh must be on his way up as his sisters were preventing him from entering without proper gate pass, Bani smiled as she heard Daksh bargaining hard, she went and sat on the bed…
When Daksh entered the room, he quickly locked the door, stood waiting to hear the voices fade away, slowly approached Bani, Bani gave a shy smile, without any preamble Daksh took her face and kissed her hard on her lips….Bani raised her arms to hold his shoulders, soon he was biting her shoulders, his nails digging into her skin, Bani asked him to be careful, Daksh did not reply instead became more impatient trying to get rid of her choli, Bani closed her eyes to get herself ready as she heard the choli tearing apart…

As Daksh slept on his side, Bani kept on sitting on her wedding bed, she was totally bruised, not only he pinched and scratched her, but it was over as soon as he entered her, he came and slumped over her, after his release he shoved her aside, turned on his side and went to sleep…
Yeh hi keya Suhaag Raat hai, thought Bani, she remembered hearing the stories from her married classmates, no way their version matched with hers….slowly she got up, walked to upto the dressing table and switched on the lamp next to it….Bani watched the marks left by Daksh, the red blots, the dried blood, tears pricked her eyes, Bani Dixit, the ladli (pet) of the Dixit household treated preciously by the family members, nobody dared to raise a voice against her except for her mother who once in a while scolded her behind her tauji's back, was now standing counting her bruises…like me Daksh also is not experienced, with time things will improve, Bani tried to cheer herself up, switched off the light and went back to bed…
