Part three

A warm hand snaked across her stomach, gripping her side protectively and a tingly feeling erupted within her. Bani Dixit, for the first time in her life felt lost, and felt even more so when she looked up into his dancing eyes. They hadn't spoken since last night and it was killing her to know why he had kissed her so meaningfully. Was this all really fake? She loved him, her heart told her so, her soul told her so…the way her body reacted to his touch told her so.

The fool that she was, she had fallen in love with him at 17. At a New Year's Eve party.

He gazed down at her amused. The media was swarming before them, but she only had eyes for him.

A wry smile fought its way onto his lips, the need for a love faade seemed unnecessary now. The look in her eyes was enough to prove to the propaganda machines that they were getting married for love. Yet the sudden quirky screech of a young woman, draped in a magenta coloured sari caught his attention and his eyes narrowed.

"Jai Walia…this is RC times, is it true that you and Bani Dixit have known each other since childhood and is it also true that the only reason you agreed to this proposal was because of the promise you made to her dying father?"

He didn't know how it came, but a sudden rage built inside him…till it was a soaring fire. His face remained expressionless, but inside he seethed uncomfortably, his voice as a result, booming in an arrogant mannerism.

"NO…nahei, yeh sabh jooth hai…no this is not true! Where are you people getting this trash from?...that is enough questions"

Hushed silence fell among the press as he turned to go, dragging his bride to be behind.

"Jai Walia…prove it to us. Prove to us that you love her." The annoying voice of the young woman challenged, her eyes alight with playful mischief.

His body froze, his head turning to meet the chirpy voice. A dangerous smile spread across his face and without thought he turned his attention back to Bani, his hands moving tenderly to cup her face, lifting her chin.

Stormy grey met gentle almond, and his world spun.
He kissed her.
It was slow and tender, his lips moving in gentle ease.

"I love you Bani"

The admission was a scorching blade to her heart. It wasn't hers. The words were not hers. Bani Dixit had no right to hear those words, they were a lie….they held no meaning. The realization stung her and the strong arm wrapped around her back no longer felt safe. It was a dagger.

The marriage, the engagement was not real.

Why did he always touch her, make her feel as if she were the only one he loved. When in fact they were just friends. Nothing else, just friends.

Her face clouded, suddenly devoid of emotion. Her body turned to stone, her mind screaming abuses at the term. Yet the flash of a camera brought her to reality. Jai had said those three little words with such ease, as if he were merely talking to a business associate.

She loved that assehole.

But now she wished to hell that he had never touched the way he had yesterday. His touch had awakened her feelings. She loved him, and had done so for the past 8 years. Bani had dreamed of a confession, but nothing of this sort. In her mind her prince charming was supposed to whisk her off her feet, not to hell.

"Baneeee?"

That desperate whisper, that gentle caress of his lips...his tongue so demanding.

He was a poison. A danger to her soul, a liquid of menace.

"I love you too…Jai"

No feeling, nothing.

"I really love you."

Jai says those three words but he don't really mean it??.....poor Bani....I think Jai is yet to discover his feelings for Bani.....hope that he'll go through the same thing when he realizes that he loves Bani too......

Read all the parts n I totally loved it... 👏 👏 The chemistry between them was wonderfully described...... 👏 Poor Bani loves him n couldn't resist him....He is playing with his feelings....Hope he realizes her feelings..liked the way the story is progressing... 😊
