They have already begun shooting.. only prachi starts in feb. Farhan starts his sisters film in April where he plays the main lead. Plus he has his own directorial venture called Voice from the sky with Irffan Khan which will also be filmed this year.
Rock On's music has been recorded and the actors have begun shooting. They are to wrap up by March. Prachi was supposed to be shooting for 6-8 weeks. Which means Mid-march they complete the shoot. After which post Production which doesnt take over two months. They are shooting in one schedule. Plus Excel entertainment uses sync sound which means no dubbing either. Therefore I was thinking it shouldnt take more than june to release. I bet they are editing the movie while shooting as well.
Its stuoid of them to prolong it for soo long till the end of the year. People like Yashraj and all take that long for a movie with huge casts who have various other shooting commitments.
I think it should be a summer release.

so its slated release is third quarter of the year which is anytime between june and sept. I hope it releases soon. I dont know what Prachi is gonna do sitting at home so many months.

One more thing dont u think the production house excel is asking for a bit too much that prachi shouldnt be seen anywhere till the release... means that for 6 months she will be sitting at home waiting. where as all the other actors will be continuing doing movies and whatever else they do... I think thats a lil unfair.
I think till the shoot is over she should take a break and return to Kasamh se after that.
Then when the promotions start take another month off...and if its just about keeping her new look under wraps she can wear a wig or tie up her hair so we dont see the hairdo

hey prachi will attend her college in these 6 months and propably prachi will do promotion for the movie

Farhan Akhtar turns actor


Director Farhan Akhtar, who created magic with his very first film Dil Chahta Hai and followed it up with Lakshya and Don, is all set to move to the front of the camera. Yes, Farhan is all set to become an actor in his home production Rock On. It will be directed by Abhishek 'Gattu' Kapoor, who earlier directed Sohail Khan's Aryan. The cast includes 'Jhalak Dikhla Ja' winner Prachi Desai, Luke Kenny and Purab Kohli. Shooting has already begun for the film which will be wrapped up in the next three months. Farhan and Prachi have begun with a song composed by Shanker-Ehsaan-Loy, a regular in Farhan's films.

prachi was supposed to start in Feb. She did a song already.Looks like Prachis role will be small. its like Dil Chahata hai mainly focused on boys. Some what like Juhi in Jhankar beats, Sonali/Preity in DCH.

Why do they need her to sit at home for 6 mths. Or is she coming back after shooting to take nother break leter for promo as some atricles suggested?

Yup i thought the same ( its like Jhankar B) when i read that the movie was about 4 boys and their band .

she wont be sitting home for 6 months ,,guys she will be busy with shooting and minute things connected with the film . i think mthey want her to be a fresh face when the public see's her in the movie, almost like a newcomer .
