Bani and Jai came to terms with what had happened to them. Jai blamed himself that he had allowed Jigs to mistreat Bani to such an extent whereas he should have dealt with it in the initial stages and Bani thought that she had also been at fault and her secretive actions had added fuel to fire. Bani could still not understand why she had kept the fact that she had a twin sister from him. She had not been ashamed by it but maybe she had found it hard to accept that her parents whom she had idolized could have kept such a secret - surely they could have continued to see Anamika and explained to their daughters why she could not live with them instead of just letting Anamika go completely. Jai still felt responsible for what Jigs had done and it was going to take a long time for him to come to terms with it.
When Adi came to know about Jigs and Sahil, he had also felt guilty. Although Jai had been his friend long before his marriage to Jigs he should have moved out of WM after his marriage. This way maybe Jigs might not have coveted what was her brother's and their children would have known that they only had rights over what was their father's and not their uncle's. He together with Dadi, Rashi and Vidya moved to a house nearby. It was time to let Bani & Jai to create their own home.
Although Jai had always planned on giving everyone a share in the Walia Group of Industries, he wondered whether if he had told Jigs this whether it would have have stopped her from the plotting she had done. Keeping this in mind, he took the steps to internally break WGI. He kept the hotel and construction business for his children, Rano was given a set of select boutiques. Rashi was handed over the catering and event management side of things. Nachicett chose to have the textile factories and Adi was given the rest including the malls.
Nachicett & Purva also moved to Pune where one of the bigger factories was situated as Nachicett found himself travelling there quite frequently. Rano also decided to move to a swanky apartment in the heart of the city with Varun. Secretly she had been quite ashamed that she had never stood by her sister or even attempted to look for her and although Bani had forgiven her she had not forgiven herself.
Ganga was ecstatic that her parents were together and talked constantly wanting to know every tiny detail of their lives together especially Jai's after they parted. Most of the time Jai was amazed at how much she could talk! He spoilt her rotten but never contradicted any of Bani's commands. She and Vidya got on like a house on fire and one or the other was always visiting. Dadi would also come over to WM once the adults in her house had gone to work and Vidya was in school.

Jai had been true to his word and let Bani set the pace for their relationship. Still being shy around him, Bani never knew how to get him to go onto the next stage. She had dropped subtle hints which were never picked up by her duffer of a husband! One day at the office, it's 6pm
'Mrs Demilo (secretary), everything seems to have wrapped up early today so go home. I'm also on my way home now...'
'Yes, it has, Sir but you seem to have forgotten you promised to take this contract personally to Mr Jung at the Hyatt today at 6.30pm'
'I did? ... who is Mr Jung? I seem to have forgotten!'
'He wants to build a hotel in Seoul... he came to us about 6 months ago... remember??'
'Hmmmm...No... but never mind. The hotel's on my way home so I can drop it off....'
Leaves and reaches hotel and goes to the reception.
'Yes?'
'I am Jai Walia, I believe I am expected by M...'
'Oh, yes! Mr Walia. Please go to suite 501, right along there to the lift, 5th floor, turn left'
'Thanks'
Reaches the door and knocks. Door is ajar and he enters. Room is unlit except for a table set for dinner with candlelights and flowers everywhere. A woman dressed in a heavily embroided pink sari was standing by the window with her back to him.
'...I'm sorry, looks like the receptionist gave me the wrong room number... the door was open so... I'll just leave...Sorry'
Turns to go but is halted in his tracks when the woman turns
'Bani ??'
'Ji...'
He just gapes at her... mouth open.... she comes to him and places a finger on his chin shutting his mouth...
'Bani... what are you doing here?'
'... what does it look like....my darling husband! why don't you freshen up and I will serve the dinner....' pushes him towards the bathroom and returns to lock the door.
A smile spread on his face. Who would have thought his wife would try and seduce him! Comes out and watches her lifting the various pot covers. She is nervous because the lid tinkles against the pot slightly from the tremor in her hand as she puts it back. She doesn't notice him.
'...hurry up... I'm hungry....'
'Really?....So am I...' Lifts her off her feet and carries her towards the bedroom '...but dessert first....'. He had intended to let her lead but the temptation was too great for him to resist.
Passion erupted between them as each tried to get as close to the other as they possibly could. Later they took their time in a slow leisurely voyage of re-discovery. At midnight he brought a plate of food and they fed each other titbits laughing over Mrs Demilo's inventiveness to send Jai here. The contract had ended up being a menu of their canteen! The laughter soon faded to be replaced by softly expelled sighs and gasps from both.
They just managed to have a couple of hours sleep before going home and creeping up to their room although there was noone home. Masi had gone on one of her religious sessions overnight at one of the temples. Rashi had come and taken Ganga to sleep over at their house and would drop her this morning. This had given Bani the idea for last night and she had enlisted Mrs Demilo's help to send Jai over to the hotel because she had planned a secret suprise for him.
Now falling on their bed after changing into their nightwear, Jai teased her that doing business with 'Mr Jung' had been a pleasure and he hoped to do a lot more business with him in the future! Bani blushed furiously and could not quite meet his eyes but managed to whisper a '...and it was a pleasure to do business with you too, Mr Walia...' to him before hiding her face against his chest.
Needless to say Mrs Demilo got an enormous pay rise!

Jai took Masi, Ganaga and Bani to Meerut. He had bought Shaadi street and the land from the landlady but this time at rock bottom price and without letting her know who was buying it and why. She had been only too glad to sell.
Jai had setup a communal body that would overlook the businesses and households in the street. The first decision he wanted them to make was what to do with the land where he had wanted to build his hotel. As he talked to them after brushing aside their apologises for their treatment of him at his last visit, Bani, Masi and Ganga went ahead to pay their respects to the landlord. Just as he finished giving Ganga and Bani his blessings they heard the landlady
'...so mother and daugher are back... don't know why people like you keep on turning up without shame... we didn't have any place for you before and we don't have any now either...'
'Aunty, we haven't come back to stay here! You must meet my father... he brought us here... look, there he is behind you ...'
While turning around she can be heard saying 'Father?... Chalo ... let's see what blind lame your mother has chosen as her husband...'
Is shocked when she sees Jai. Eyes nearly pop out and all movement seizes only her mouth opens and shuts like a fish but no sound comes out.
'You were saying ??' Jai gives her one of his famous glowering look and Ganga bursts out laughing while Bani tries hard to smother her laughter.
Masi laughs '... I told you a long time ago that the ground beneath your feet would slip if you knew who Mitali's husband was...'
But the loudest laughter was from the landlord, who cared that she would make his life miserable later on but for now he was happy to see the shocked misery written all over his wife's face.
------------- 2 years later
Bani was serving breakfast to Masi and Dadi who nowadays stayed more at WM and less in her own home.
'BAAAAANNNNIIIII......BAANIII.... where are you?'
pause
'MAAMMMAAAAA.....you got to come here.......'
Bani looks up but continues serving Masi.
'BAAANNNIIII.........'
'MAAAMMMAAAAAAA......'
'Dekho na Dadi, both father and daughter have started early today! ... Go beta before they bring the roof down.... we will serve ourselves...'
Bani hurries up the stairs to see what her daughter wants first
'What is it Ganga?'
'Look mamma, Sagar bhaiya is not smelling nice.....' wrinkles her nose
'BBBANNII...'
Bani lifts the 4 month old baby and moves to the connecting room with Ganga trailing behind her.
'...Now what is the matter with you??' mutters annoyingly at Jai '... whom shall I look after - you, Ganga or the baby....'
Puts baby on bed while Ganga plops herself a little distance away. Bani turns towards the cupboard to get the nappy. Jai is also standing by the open cupboard doors.
He smiles at her. God, his wife looked cute when she was annoyed! When Ganga had first yelled, he had looked into the kids room but had seen them both happily interacting with Ganga making funny noices and the baby gurgling back.
As she reached him, he moved the door so that they were cut off from Ganga's view.
'Well, what was it you wan...' her mouth was quickly smothered in a deep hard kiss leaving her bemused when he let go.
Huskily 'Just this!' planting another kiss on the side of her still open mouth
Says in a loud voice '...I still can't find that tie...'
Comes out from behind the cupboard door
'Come on Ganga, I think mamma is going to take a bit of time finding Sagar's nappy....'
Bends and kisses the baby 'Ufff....you do smell...' Pulls Ganga off the bed and moves towards the door before turning back and winking at Bani.
Bani stands bemused until a wail is heard from the bed. Shakes her head and picks the nappy moving towards the now screaming baby.
'...I'm coming... I'm coming...(mutters)... father shouts ... daughter shouts ... now why should you be left behind.....'
As soon as the baby sees her, the crying stops instantly and he starts blowing bubbles at her. Bani tickles him '... shameless... that is what you are... yes you ...just like your father...'
Quickly changes him and gives him a kiss and cuddle before making her way downstairs with him. Jai holds out his arm for him but Masi quickly takes him
'Here Bani, give him to me.... you and Munna have your breakfast.' pauses '... so Jai, what was all that yelling about?'
'Nothing important...'
Ganga pips up '... papa still can't find his tie....do you think someone stole it, Dadi?...'
Masi looks at Jai's polo '.... No, it hasn't been stolen...(pretends to whisper loudly to Ganga)...you know beta, I think it is a magic tie! When it sees your parents coming it goes ..wooooosh.. and disappears so that they can continue to have the pleasure of looking for it !!!'
Jai who had just taken a sip of tea spluttered and coughed turning red. Bani lowered her head and her cheeks turned an equally bright red!
18 months later Bani found herself pregnant again and this time expecting twins. Noone except the prospective parents were suprised - they couldn't quite believe it was due to a single lapse on their side when one day Jai had arrived home early from work to get ready for a family party and had found Bani in the shower ..... 😳

I tried to keep it nice and short showing just the main turning points in the JB relationship and tying situations together instead of dropping them without a trace as the KS team does 😕
And look there was not the slightest need of having a Meera in the story!!!!!
