Chapter 7
He hated it when the computer gets so slow. What are people doing at this hour of the night on this website anyway! Waiting he looked outside, it was going to be a cold night, heading to the room to make sure that Bani was warm and comfortable. Getting up he heard her scream. "Jai?"
Jai rushing inside to see Bani up and finding she was crying "Bani?" "Bani?" hugging her close to him, "what happened?"
Bani moved back looked at him and touching his face and shoulders and chest and his hands "you are alright, you are alright, oh my God Jai are you alright?" Touching him crazy and making sure he was with her.
"Bani?" "Bani?" holding her face and looking at her, as she stared back,
dheko mujhe?" "I am fine baby, what's wrong?' "I hate to see you like this?" Bani leaned on him and holding him tight "oh Jai, I had the worst dream ever, you were in a really bad accident and and, Jai pulled her closed gently rubbing her shoulders, "I am fine baby, look I am right here, with you." "Bani cried like a little girl holding him close, "oh Jai it was so bad, there was blood all over and I couldn't do anything to stop it" "you were in so much pain and couldn't do nothing," "if something happens to you what am I going to do?" Holding him and crying, Jai didn't know what emotions hit him hearing her say all this, as if all the barriers had been lifted and a new light had been shed. He was craving to hear that from her and to know if she really cared, and now "shhhssshhh" rocking her in his arms "its okay, im here Bani,' "everything is going to be alright?"
Bani didn't know how long she had been in his arms, but it felt so good, so secured, as if he could protect her from everything.
Jai held her really close to his heart, too scared to move. His left arm was numb from holding her but it had been so long and he didn't want to wake up from this dream. No matter what happened he was going to protect her, no matter what. She has to know that she can rely on her husband. He didn't know what had happened in the past and for now it didn't matter. All that mattered at his moment was her in his arms like this right now.
Bani moving after sometime realizing what she had just done, moving back slowly, "im sorry!" she managed weakly, "I didn't meant to…" Jai looked at her, same old cold look was back, what is she pretending for, didn't she just feel what he had awhile ago. "Bani stop it, "why are you pretending what you don't feel and just let the true feelings come out!" Bani looked at him confused, was she so visible, this wasn't the Jai he was supposed to be, he was supposed to be mean and mad and rude and everything but this. "Pretend what?" she managed trying to be confident but no succeeding, pulling her hair back and moved away on the other side getting up from the bed. Jai had had enough.
Anger these days didn't come to him easily, but everyone know when it did it was like a storm hit, always causing disruption before it died down. "Why are you pretending this Bani, for God sake you know what I mean?" getting up from his sitting position he looked at her straight across the bed as she stood there looking everywhere but him. "I don't know what you mean?" Bani pretended she didn't hear him right and planned to move towards the bathroom. "Oh no you don't?" moving close to her as she tried to get towards the bathroom. Bani had barely taken 4 steps, Jai was already in front of her. "Not today Bani?" Bani looked up at his face worried and scared to some extent, was she so transparent. "I am not going to take any excuses today, he was raging furious, just minutes ago she was scared like a little child in his arms, and now she was this woman he didn't even know. "I have to know why you keep treating me this way." "I am sick and tired of you and your excuses, I am sick and tired of being left unanswered, "taking her shoulders and shaking her, "you tell me now, why are you pretending to not feel anything when its clearly visible in your eyes that you do care for me, that you do feel all the things I feel for you?" Bani stared up at him no believing his words. No Bani you cant trust this man; remember what he did to you. Remember after promising so much he threw you out of his life and this house, he broke all those promises.
"Bani are you even listening to me?" shaking her. Bani didn't have any more energy left in her to fight. She couldn't tell him something she didn't even herself know. How could she tell him what he did to her when she doesn't even know the reason for it?
Shoving his hands aside, "I don't feel anything for you?" looking up her voice cold, her heart was bleeding but she had to keep up with this if not Jai was not going to leave her without getting something out. Walking away from him as Jai grabbed her hands swinging her to him. Without giving her time to think or act he grabbed her lips and kissed her. Punishing her and than slowly kissing her with a deep want that was held within him for so long. It was emotions so raw that they both were caught by surprise when it happened. Holding her very close to him as he felt her so soft ,her delicate body leaning towards him from the effect of the kiss and what it was doing to her. Jai had to gain control of the situation and he knew if he didn't stop here he wouldn't stop at all.
Moving Bani back was the hardest thing to do but taking her shoulders he pushed her and still holding her looked at her upturned face eyes closed and bruised lips that had been victim of his kiss just seconds ago. Bani slowly opened her eyes realizing what happened, angry and teary "how dare you?" Jai looked at her, why is she denying all this? It was totally out of his understating "Bani, holding her, stop it, just seconds ago you were so alive in my arms, it was like metal touching fire." "why are you not letting this just be what it should be?"
Bani moving him hard, he was so tall and strong and it took so much power to shove him back. "I don't feel anything for you, now she was crying and trying hard to not say anything. "I don't, do you hear?" "I don't feel anything?" "Why wont you leave me alone?" "You always do this!" "Always!" "meh bhi insaan hu Jai, mujhe bhi dard hotah hai," "I also get hurt, do you ever realize that?" Bani halfway getting mad stopped and ran from the room, what was she saying, he doesn't even remember a thing!
Jai: BAni? Bani? Tehro? Bani god dammit wait for me
Bani ran as fast as she could, through the corridor, to the main room, to the front door, Jai running after her, "Bani stop?" "SAM?" "KAHA MARGAYE SAB KE SAB?" "Bani?"
It was too later Bani was out of the door. Running as fast as she could and as fast as her little feet would take her. It was really chilly outside, the cold months were approaching fast and she was merely wearing simple sleeveless kameez. "Bani stop right now?" God how stubborn could she get, Jai kept running, he hadn't been working out ever since the accident had happened and right now he could feel how unfit he had become.
BAni kept running onto the street, being a little further away from the city bussle the road was pretty much deserted.
"Bani stop!" Jai was after her shouting at her, Bani turned still crying, "leave me alone, just let me be Jai,"
Bani was tired and out of breath, her heart was pounding as if something was hitting her with a hammer. Hands on his knees Jai was also catching his breath; he could see she had stopped. An on approaching vehicle was coming really fast what looked like 100 miles/h. The headlights were visible to Jai but because it was a bit hilly area, BAni couldn't see it. Panicking to himself, Bani was on the road!
"All of a sudden the memory of his car accident flashed right in front of his eyes! A huge SUV had come out of nowhere right in front of his car, turning his car to avoid the collision he had missed the blind spot running straight into another on his right. The truck had dragged him straight for few seconds before Jai's car had tilted sideways going on the other side of the highway, it was a miracle how Jai had survived but he had made it."
Jai: Bani? His hands reaching far, hoping to hold and stop her
Bani turned to see him, he was so close by, she was tired and weary and couldn't run anymore, turning to move, all of a sudden all she heard were tires screeching when something suddenly hit her, pushing her with such force and than it was all blank!
Jai: Bani? Running like crazy, the car that had hit her had finally stopped with screeching tires with a man approaching them, "Jai?" "What the hell?" "Is she alright?" Kneeling where Jai was and helping Jai!
Jai looked up to find his brother standing in front of him "what the bloody hell Saahil, how do you drive?" wanting to beat the crap out of him, but common sense prevailed somehow, Bani had bee on the road she shouldn't have been, "Bani?" BAni was lying the unconscious with right leg chins cut open and the right side of her should bleeding profusely. She had blood all over her head and her hair was drenched in them!
Jai: looked at the woman he had punished so severely a year ago, the woman who had ….
Saahil: she is still breathing, taking his phone and rapidly dialing 911.
Jai did not realize when the chopper had arrived to air lift Bani to the hospital or when the sound of sirens from the ambulance flickered, all he did was stare at his wife lying there almost dead! Was this what he wanted from her? Not leaving her hands, didn't know whether to cry or scream. Emotions too strong to handle, what she was doing in his life after he had kicked her out!
