Jai was greeted with the smiling face of a woman,
'yes?' she asked.
'Oh sorry, I thought you were someone else…' Jai couldn't hide the disappointment in his voice.
'Mamji.. meet Bristy..' Anu introduced the girl she was talking to. She was dressed in a pink saree, fine silver embroidery and crystal work on the pallu.
'Hi.. Jai Walia..' Jai introduced himself.
'Aapko toh sab jaante hain..' (Everyone knows you..) she said with a dazzling smile
Jai laughed, a bit embarrassed.😳
Bristy wished him a Happy Birthday and he talked to them for a while and then left, to meet some other people.

Krishna and Arthva were playing with some of their friends, when they spotted Pushkar. They called him over and introduced him to their friends.
The kids took an instant liking to Pushkar and he entertained them for a while, with his funny faces and jokes.
When they were clearly busy, Krishna pulled Pushkar down to her level so that he was now kneeling.
'Is Mummy here??' she asked looking around.
Pushkar's face fell. 'Um.. no.' He had talked to her just yesterday and invited her to come along with him. But she had refused. He was quickly losing hope. And he fell horrible, to raise the children's hope and then crush them.
'Kyon??... when is she coming?' Asked Arthva.
'I don't know..'
'Why??.. is she mad at us??' Krishna asked a little upset.. wondering what she had done wrong.
'No.. Why would I be mad at you?' All three turned to where Bani stood. Smiling.
Krishna and Arthva's face lit up. Bani kneeled and opened her arms, and they ran towards her. Giving her a big hug.
'You came.. you came…' they jumped up and down in excitement. Bani laughed at them.
'You have to meet our friends.' They each held a hand and then dragged her to their friends.
They proudly introduced her as their mother. The kids were very excited, meeting Krishna and Arthva's mum for the first time. Bani' eyes teared up. This had to be one the best decisions she had ever made!
She turned around to see Pushkar still astonished at her, and by his expression she knew he was dying to talk to her, but he had to wait! She had to see someone else before him.
She excused herself form the children, telling them she would be back in a while and then walked towards Pushkar.
'Main jaanta tha..' (I knew it)
Bani smiled. 'Go on.. go find Jai.. he has been hoping you were here with me..' Bani blushed and then hurried away to find Jai.
She looked around, extracting curious looks from the guests, all who were wondering who she was!
She spotted him sitting on a window sill, staring into space, deep in thought. She went and sat next to him.

Jai felt her presence, but didn't open his eyes. Great.. now I can feel her near me aswell… I have got to make sure that next time, the drinks are served by someone who is trust worthy! He thought annoyed.
'why is the birthday boy sitting by himself?'
Ok, hmm.. maybe I need psychiatric help… I'm sure hearing voices in your head, qualifies as mentally unstable. Great, I will get Rosie, to make an appointment with Dr. Gupta tomorrow.
Bani was confused. Was he mad at her for rejecting him, in Chandigargh? Was he giving her the silent treatment?
'Jai..' she said softly, touching his arm.
Jai turned around and saw Bani sitting there, he reached out and touched her cheek. She was really here!!
