ND was disturbed seeing Jai Walia even though he knew he was very possessive about his wife & family, very careful about their security especially after Bani's attack but the thought he was no way involved in Pushkar's accident was something ND could not digest. The bus driver said it was his fault, who knows he was not set up i.e returning a favour to Jai Walia. Maybe this was Jai Walia's way of warning ND not to go into confrontation with him.

Early morning the next day, Pushkar's parents arrived looking worried and haggard…while Kiran offered them basic refreshment, they started getting ready to leave the hospital the phone rang, ND gave a look to Kiran while pushkar parents looked in verge of tears…
It was the CMO, he called in to inform that Dr Luthra has agreed to break his leave and come for day to operate on Pushkar Shukla…
We will be there right away…
Oh but he will be here only at 1200, so it is not before 1 o'clock in the afternoon the operation will start…
Abhi kiyu nehi,
You see Mr Dixit, he was in Switzlerland with his family, he will be landing at 10'clock, he will take some rest and start the operation around 1230 /1, it will be a long operation but believe me he is the best….

The Dixit & the Shukla's gathered around the OT waiting eagerly for the doctor to come out, it was after 3 hours finally Dr Luthra came out looking very tired….
OK, we have done our best, now he needs to rest and take proper care…he is a young man so I guess he will pull through...
They thank him, he takes their leave and makes his move, he has a flight to catch in the late evening….
ND eyes followed him, suddenly he saw Bani whisper something to the doctor, the doctor nods and both of them go towards the stairs, instead of taking the lift…ND is intrigued, he follows…
Bani & the Doctor enter the CMO's office, and through the venetian blinds notices Jai Walia getting up from the sofa and shake hands with the doctor, ND could read the doctor's lips, anything for you, Mr Walia after all what you did for me, your family is my family….
Jai Walia thanked him, the CMO came forward to open the door and see off the doctor, they both got out, walked towards the lift, ND hid behind the planter to watch Bani raising herself to kiss Jai Walia on his cheek, Jai Walia giving a shy smile before giving a quick kiss on her lips…They leave the CMO's office hand in hand…ND moves away so that they don't see him and virtually collides with Kiran, ND places a finger on his lips and both of them watch, Jai Walia leaving the hospital holding his wife's hand, while the common people came forward, bowing to him, touching his knees, doing namaste as they made their way out…
ND pulled out his mobile…

You mean to say that Jai ne doctor to darake laye hai…

Do I have an option, the scene which I saw a little earlier reinstated the fact that however hard I try, my daughter will not leave her husband, now she is an adult I just cannot stop her….
Kiran looked up and beamed at him, the heart which was getting divided between the father and the daughter felt much lighter….

Epilogue
It is after two months since Pushkar met with an accident, his parents have taken him to recover fully, ND & his family were preparing to leave for Nagpur to take up the new posting, Pia will continue her college from there and once she finishes, she and Pushkar will get married…
Bani was helping her mom with last moment packing, the flat was already looking empty, ND was shouting that they are getting late...They leave for airport…
Bani wheels the trolley till the entry point, she hugs her father, her sister and then her mother, Bani whispers something in her ear, Kiran beams and hugs her back…Pia pushes the trolley forward,while Kiran kisses Bani goodbye…just then ND looks behind to give final wave to Bani, behind her, at a distance, he saw Jai Walia standing, god this man never leaves his wife for a second thought ND, he lifted his hand to wave at Bani and then lifted it higher to wave at the person standing behind her….he noticed it immediately and gestured a salute to ND.....the end…………

Dear Friends,
Much as I wanted to write a long ff but my limited knowledge in this area did not allow me. I ran out of ideas..i.e how many times could I send Bani to her parent's house and Jai Walia come after her to rescue her from her parents clutches, so had to bring it to an amicable solution, ND & JW not accepting each other fully but tolerating each other for the sake of the woman they both happen to love. This is the case of many of our families in India at least…adjustments and tolerance for the sake of the person you love…in many cases it is the mother-in-law, I remember having an European boss who at any given opportunity used to make fun of his mother-in-law but when he went home during his holidays, always carried a present for her and I also happened to learn that inspite of having a son, the mother-in-law stayed with the daughter and son-in-law (i.e my boss), a peculiar love/hate relationship!
My friends I thank you all for following my ff and encouraging me to carry on, your comments and suggestions and for your contribution. Now, I have to catch up with Krishna & Sangita's FF which I was reading but was unable to do so for the last 1 or 2 parts because of lack of time and the DON, how to take the story forward!
