When ND & his family arrive in Nanavati, Bani was already there, so was one or two people from office who had come on hearing the news, ND did not see Jai Walia and thanked the all mighty, it seems he got the message at last and refrained from making an appearance….Pushkar was in the OT, they were cleaning and bandaging him up…Pia hugged Bani and cried silently, his colleages briefed him…Pushkar was returning home, when while trying to save a cyclist, a bus hit his vehicle from behind, it overturned….the driver is dead and Pushkar gravely injured…

Was there any foul play, asked the ACP

No Sir, I do not think so, its one of those Best buses, rushing to complete the last trip, even we have checked up the driver's credentials, he has no criminal record….

Just then the doctor came out of the OT, ND being the senior most went forward and introduced himself….

It is like this ACP we have cleaned his basic wounds, stitched him up in required places but his main injury is in the spinal chord, few dislocation have taken place it is needed to be operated as soon as possible by a Neurosurgeon, that too a very good one as soon as possible as the more delay you do his nerves will be hurting and the damage will be out of our control…

If his nerves get hurt too much, he can go into a paralysis etc etc…

ND gave a glance towards his wife, she had a horror look on her face so did Bani & Pia…

What is stopping you all from getting a Neurosurgeon and doing the operation….

Well Sir, the doctor replied, it should be done by a very competent one, and our best one, Dr Luthra is on leave….

For how long, I mean he is on leave…

ND immediately started calling up the doctor's in his organization / friends / seniors/ colleagues, if they could suggest a name of a good neurosurgeon, he got a few names and numbers, started calling them up while Kiran broke the news to Pushkar's parents gently, requesting them to come to Mumbai immediately…

ND finished his calls and looked up, Kiran came forward, Keya huwa

All of them are busy for the next 2 days, they have operations lined up, those cases are critical too, they are saying….Keya kare…

At last Bani spoke…

Papa ekh kaam karte hai, let us go and speak to the Chief Medical Officer of this hospital, Pushkar is in ICU, Pia can go have a peep in the meanwhile….Maybe the CMO will know someone…

The CMO heard their case and nodded his head…you have got the best names already, and what they said is also true, I think you have to wait for 2 days atleast to get Mr Shukla operated….

If money is a criteria Sir, I can assure you, the government will take care about it…

No No…it is not about money ACP Dixit, Mumbai is a big city, patients jaida, doctors kam…I think Sir, you should go home, nothing much can be done, we have your numbers, incase I need you, you will get a call, in the meantime take rest and let me see, how fast Mr Shukla can be operated…

ND looked at his wife, while Pia walked in looking very disturbed, Kiran nodded, it was already late and Pushkar's parents will be coming early tomorrow morning…

Doctor sahab, theek keh rahe hai, I think we should go now, said Bani

As they waited for their car, ND noted a man was following them, as they got into their car, Bani got into hers alongwith the man, as his car passed by, ND saw Jai Walia sitting at the back seat, before Bani closed the door…
