Part 1:
In the midst of all the darkness, a figure could be seen holding onto herself as if in pain. By the looks of it, she had not been physically hurt, but who knew what lay beneath the exterior physique. Everyone in the mental asylum had long gone to sleep, but Bani knew that sleep was something that wouldn't come to her so easily. She just sat in the darkness and contemplated the events of the last few days. She couldn't believe that her own sister could betray her and that too alongside her own husband. The more she thought about it, the more the tears threatened to fall. Maybe this could be expected from Pia, but not from Mr. Walia. He may seem as heartless as a rock, but beneath all that, he had a heart of gold. He had shown her what love truly was. Maybe it was just her fate and she would learn to compromise with it. Amidst her thoughts, sleep finally pervaded Bani until all she could see was darkness surround her.
Jai woke to the sounds of his children crying. He got up and tried to pacify them, but to no avail. He just wasn't used to this. He tried to give them their bottles and changed their diapers, but it seemed as though his children just like to aggravate him. It seemed as though they knew that he had taken their mother away from them and that this was his punishment. If Bani were here, she would know exactly what to do, but since fate seemed as though it were against him, he would have to make do. He stayed awake and cradled his children until they finally fell asleep from exhaustion. He then tried to go back to sleep, but the thought of Bani and what she might be going through at the mental asylum kept him awake till it was finally time for him to go to work.
Rano was striding in her room as though she planned to burn a hole through the carpet. Varun was asleep and she was trying to think of ways to help her Bani di. She knew she couldn't tell her the truth, but she could try and help her in other ways, but how?? She had tried to talk to her the other day, but the sheer pain of having lost her children was still fresh and Bani was still trying to cope with the loss. Just as she was deep in thought, Varun started to cry and Rano had to stop her train of thought and attend to him.
