Why are we surprised?

Just based on the update I read, why are we surprised that the Kretinous Kretins have taken us for a ride yet again? Of course Jai was being blackmailed - what other reason would he have to turn his back on Bani? The Kreatives could have come up with something better than Pia's blackmailing him, but the stage for this was set the day Pia declared that she wanted Mr. Walia to marry her (just saw that episode here in Canada). And did nobody see Jigs expressions that day? It was obvious they were in cahoots! Karuna came as a surprise, but again, only to be expected - after KS is the home of the stupidest reasons to become bad!

Aren't we used to these "Love Jai, Love Bani" cycles the kretins keep feeding us? Just last week we were "hate Bani, love Jai", this week we are "Love Bani, hate Jai" and next week when Bani returns as Durga Ma's incarnate, we'll start the "love Jai, hate Bani" cycle... And what do you want to bet that the "revenge of Bani Dixit Walia" will be played out as the yet to be biggest joke of KS. She will come back and after two episodes go back to "Pia meri bahen hai, mei mummy papa ka vishwas nahi tod sakta". After all her favorite punching bag will always be Jai Walia. So what do you want to lay odds that Pia and Jigs will get away scot free again. After all, in Bani's mind, only Jai has commited a crime, right?

Sorry - the anti-Jai brigade will no doubt have a field day with me, but realistically, if a man is threatened with his wife's life, what should he do? Tell the blackmailer to go to hell and take the chance that someone psycho enough to go to this extent won't kill his wife? Really? And all the money in the world does not make a person safe - ask anyone who has lost their child or loved one to blackmail/kidnapping. So if Jai succumbed to keep Bani alive (knowing he has lost her by his acts), he is so obviously at fault right?! Other posts mention calling police, hiring private detectives, etc. Would that have kept Bani safe from the psycho named Pia? Pia has nothing to loose so does she care if Bani dies or not? And we all know that Jigs would like nothing more than a dead Bani? And those who suggested that Jai should have told Bani what he was doing and why - when has Bani ever listened to anything against her beloved Pia?

Once again, credit has to be given to the Balaji kretins for taking a perfectly good opportunity to bring a totally unexpected twist and instead feeding us with the same old dribble that we have seen in thousands of other serials. What is new about a husband desperately in love with his wife being blackmailed to keep her safe, and succumbing to the blackmail?
