Bani sat in her room…not at her house but at WM.. Thinking about what had just happened…she was back where it all happened…first time she came back for her sons…now she came back for his son with Pia…. whatever enmity she has with JW …..she couldn't punish the little kid for believing that she is her mother….Bani stayed there once again she was manipulated for love….she hated him…but she couldn't hate Ram…he was so young innocent and nave….nothing like his father…Bani thought….Abi and Aji were so happy to see their father…..well she couldn't lied to them when they asked about their father…..she simply told them that their father is in out of the country and she did show them JW's picture….as their father…which is indeed the truth…..Abi and Aji was happy to see him….
There was a knock on the door….Jai came in…shivers ran down Bani's spine…he is already here to reclaim his….word echoed in her mind
Jai went straight to the sofa and waited for Bani to join him….Bani reluctantly got up biting her lower lips…went and sat front of him on the sofa…..Bani looked it his eyes…in the moonlight his eyes looked even more magnetic…she swallowed hard….why is it that she hates him and is so attracted to him at the same time…why is it that when he asked her to come to the WM today she just nodded her head….why did she tell her children that she is their father when he clearly didn't come after her? Why did her heart ache so much when she heard the news that he is married to another man? Why?
Jai: Bani…I need to say something that should have been said 3 years ago…..My marriage to Pia is
Bani interrupted him: I don't want to hear it (tried to be angry but it came out as very sad tone)
Jai: no Bani you are going to hear it..I should have told you the first day I brought you here but I didn't…I think this time I owe my self to tell you what happen in my first marriage…why did I come to a bar and saw the most beautiful women in the bar and fell in love at first sight and took her to bed when my wife was lying on the deathbed
(In Bani's ear it echoed "fell in love at first sight")…you see Bani I married got married to Pia because she was pregnant….for three years she led me believe that her son is mine…but in reality he is not mine (Bani's eye widened) he is Pushkar…he died in car accident….the same car accident Pia was killed… I found out only after the accident he is not mine…..so I came to the bar….then I saw you…I felt something in my heart but I was to devastated to comprehend any of my feelings (his hand tightened on the arms of the sofa….Bani stood up and went toward him…stood there ….she put her hand on his shoulder….he took her both hands and wept on her palms….)
Bani: Jai…shh please don't cry
After a while he faced Bani as tears flooding through his eyes: I was angry Bani…but when I saw you my anger melt…I felt alive..I was disgusted by myself….maybe I am a male version of Pia…..I felt horrible but I couldn't help my self…I continued to see you every night….I couldn't even function properly at day time ..my mind was filled with your thoughts….so when I finally decided to tell you the whole truth you weren't there…at your place.. I looked for you every where then I learned from my dad ..you are going to be married to Tarun…and I felt so angry that you did the same thing as Pia…you used me….
Bani: but I didn't
Jai: I know that too..but only after you came to me for a job 3 years ago…. after I forced my father to make you come here and stay with me under the same roof…I made sure that we will work it out…but we didn't…well we almost did….then Roshini came…and I couldn't tell front of that little boy I am not his father….his father and mother are real crooks who were after my money….I couldn't destroy that little boy's believe Bani…that is why I let you run into your room…gave you space…but when I came back to speak to you…you were not here…(Jai couldn't continue after that he looked away from Bani. Bani wiped his tears and kissed him on his forehead)
Bani: I am sorry Jai for not believing in you…I loved you with all my heart…I couldn't forced my self to think that our marriage was only based on lust…as it seemed to me at the time..I was so angry that I fell in love with younger man ….and all the things made me not to tell my real feelings to you…..
Jai pulled Bani to sat on his lap: I miss you Bani..I was dead…for 3 years…(nuzzling her neck)
Bani: I was dead too Jai Walia
Jai: promise me Bani that you won't leave me as long as I live
Bani: I promise I will not leave my love as long as I live (she kissed him on his check and he returned her kiss by taking her lips in his)They both slept in each other's arm
After 3 months
Bani was busy with business and kids and Jai…it has been hectic….since she took care of everything….around the house…..
Jai: Bani where is my tie?
Bani : it will be in your cupboard….(muttered) when the kids go to school…there is another kid who bother...I can't get piece of mind in this hosue…it is always bani did you see this and that and this….or mommy that mommy this
Jai: Bani I can't find it….
Bani went upstairs….: can't you just go to work with out your precious tie?
Jai: Bani are you ok?
Bani: well do I look like I am ok to you ?
Jai: no
Bani: then why the questioning? Every one wants me to get something for them…so that is what I do?
Jai: Bani
Bani: look Jai I am old and tired
Jai went toward her and encircled his arm around her waist: I am the oldest one here if any ..did you see my grey hair
Bani smiled at him…Jai: now tell me what is wrong here?
Bani: nothing Jai…I want a break from everything…for a while…
Jai : so we can go for our honey moon….
Bani: well ..
Jai: c'mon Bani we didn't go for one to begin with
Bani: well there is something else
Jai: meaning…
Bani: you are going to be a father….
First Jai was surprised…… he was out of the world happy
Jai lifted her off the floor and swirled her around: I am the happiest man on the earth you know that Bani….(carrying her in his hand) I couldn't have asked for more in my life
Bani: are you going to carry me every where I go
Jai: yes Mrs walia….I am going to be your very personal Assistant for the next 9 months
Any objection madam
Bani: if my husband says ok then I am fine with it
Jai: ok then it settled…..
Bani: it is settled
Jai carried her to their room…before he entered he said: Bani there is one more thing I need to tell you
Bani : tell me
Jai: I love you Mrs Bani Jai Walia
Bani: I love you too Mr Jai Walia…
With that their bedroom door closed………………………….
