Here we have two friends of Bani being intorduced who will later have a role in the plot.
Chapter 11

Meanwhile in the U.S. Bani is back and she is a day early as she wanted to surprise everyone at home. On the way back home she had got Jai's favorite flowers white lilies and desert and wine to go with the dinner she had to use all the tricks in hand to break the news to Jai about Pushkar.
When she entered her house the house keeper informed her that all of them were in the family dining area. She was wondering what the kids were up to as late in the night as they normally were in bed by seven. But when she entered the dining area she noticed it was empty then she heard voices from the kitchen.
We can see two very fashionably dressed women one in short miniskirt and halter neck top and the other in a very classy boat neck dress. They were both telling Jai that since Bani is not here they should make good use of the time and may be they could go to the spa and relax tomorrow may be even take a swim also in the afternoon as Bani will be back in town and then he can never get away as he is always tied up with her. They are kind of flirting with Jai and he is enjoying it and playing along with them when Bani walks in.
Bani: I thought you both were my best friends and all you both do is try to steal my husband's attention when my back is turned.
Jai on seeing Bani, all surprised goes and hugs and lifted her turning around with a sweet smile on his lips and kissed her long and thoroughly crushing the fine folds of her skirt against his hard body how are you my sweet heart and eased her slowly down the length of his body before setting her down the kitchen stool. But he hadn't let her go hands resting on her back he stood behind her the whole time.
Friend 1: Excuse me you do have an audience in case you failed to notice and it would be better if you carried this behind closed doors.
Friend 2: My romance life is in pits because I have to keep looking at all the financial sheets of her company and then what do I get to see She is romancing out with her husband as though she is still on honeymoon.
Bani: when she comes out of the kiss. Jealous girls. Instead of eyeing my husband why don't you both keep looking for someone else?
Friend 1: You took the handsome guy in town married him had kids at least lets enjoy his culinary skills. Don't be so selfish after all we are your childhood friends.
Bani: O.K. tell me which is the latest guy that you have ditched because I was planning one having a nice romantic dinner with my husband for that I came in one day early and I get to see my best friends trying to get my husband.
Friend 2: well nothing is new about her story the same old thing the guy doesn't have a functional brain cell I just don't get it why does she fall for such jerks.
Friend 1: Just don't be jealous of my situation you never get time to step out of that glass cubicle of yours and come down your high horse to enjoy the simple pleasure of having a guy to take you around
Bani: I don't think we are here for a word match girls so the swim you were talking about may be we can do that together with Jai and the kids too.
Jai: That's your cue to leave girls.
Friend 1: Jai I swear your wife has something sneaky up her sleeve.
Friend 2: She trying to get rid of us and mind you Jai she has some devious intentions because she never goes along with any plans of ours.
Jai: I am not sure rather I am trying to figure it out so if you girls would excuse us.
Friend: My my aren't we impatient Well both of you have got all the night to figure it out so we shall pack the dinner off and make a move as we don't want to disturb the love birds and Bani the swim and the spa is on tomorrow for messing the lively dinner with Our sweetheart Jai.
Bani: Girls behave, he is mine.
Friend 2: Bani don't be so possessive give the guy a break.
Jai: I kind of enjoy it so don't worry girls he winks at them and says so tomorrow is a date with three beautiful women of my life. Not to forget my little darlings too.
Friend 1: How can we. They both go to give Jai a big hug and kiss him on both the cheeks
Bani: good night both of you had your share of attention.
As they leave Jai closed the door behind them, I think I will take a shower and we can have the dinner. "Later" he breathed pulling her back those beautiful eyes glittering with something that terrified and excited her. Those proud features flushed with desire. "We will do it together". And his eyelids drooped, his mouth drawing down in desire and his gaze embraced the flawless perfection of her throat the gentle hint of cleavage behind her feminine top. Standing on tip toe she reached up and traced a path down the now roughening line of his jaw her arms went around him and he drew his mouth down to hers. It's been two long weeks. I think I better take you upstairs otherwise I might just take you here on the floor and we wouldn't want anyone walking on us.
He carried her to the bedroom and placed her in the middle of the massive mahogany framed bed.
She saw the desperate hunger that has always been there she accepted him. The passion built, shuddering through her. She had not expected gentleness or patience from him and his hands moved roughly over her exploring her and possessing her, From her lips his mouth trailed down along her throat as it journeyed to her b***t. his hands were bruising her arousing her as they wandered down her rib cage lingering at her waist and hips as his mouth continued to ravish her b****. She began to move under him making her motions sensual and inviting. Lean and firm his hands massaged the sensitive skin of her inner thighs and her muscles went lax her joints fluid. She learned that he made love with intensity and absorption. There was a ruthless, steady dominance in him a power that demanded much more than submission Surrender would have been too tame a response. She could feel the urgency of his hands, taste his hunger of his mouth. She heard it as he spoke her name. They were tangles together flesh against flesh mouth against mouth while it seemed the reality was dark moist kisses and heated skin.
As her body tinged under his hands she began to make her own explorations. As she moved her hands to his hips Jai groaned against her mouth and took the kiss deeper. As his hands grew wild desperate and she tumbled with him in to a world rules by sensation, the pleasure was acute sharp. There seemed no part of her that he didn't know and that he hadn't conquered Her breath was clogging in her lungs passing through her lips as moans and sigh. Desire reached a turbulent peak when she whispered his name Jai. His mouth took hers with fresh desperation cutting off her words. He shifted on top of her. Passion became hot irresistible waves overpowered her with its tumultuous journey until all need all sensation focused into one.
She was still wrapped tightly in his arms when the hiss of rain lulled her to sleep.

Later with a small sigh she allowed sleep to drift away. Lazily her lids fluttered open and she looked directly into Jai's eyes.
Jai: Hi sweet heart welcome to the world of Living. I think we better have the dinner as it's almost close to midnight and I want to hear about your trip also.
Slowly she got up and took from Jai her night slip.
This is the moment Bani dreaded and she didn't want to hold on to things anymore and so she just blurted everything out. As she was getting dressed
Bani: Jai there is something you should know I broke a promise that I had made to you some time back.
Jai: Sweetheart why are you so worried over some promise.
Bani: Listen to me Jai Pushkar knows he is the father of Sia and I guess by now the family also would have come to know about it.
It was like the floor had collapsed and Bani just wanted to bury herself form the look on Jai's face. Jai was so shocked that he just couldn't respond for a while Seeing him in that state Bani moved forward to hug him and offer comfort but he just moved back and said
Jai: What how could that happen. Bani is this some kind of joke then it isn't funny.
Bani: I wish it was. But they have given you the custody of Sia just like you wanted.
Jai: custody or no it should never have come out. Bani you knew how I felt about the truth coming out and you betrayed my trust. God how could you after you knew everything about my past and he just left the room with Bani standing there in the middle of the room like a lost child. She felt like crying her heart out for seeing Jai go out of the room like that. Never had he given that empty look.
One really had to wonder was it the same cold calculative business women present there. How had she royally messed up things would Jai reason out with her. This was not happening to her she couldn't loose Jai just because of a misunderstanding between them. She loved him more than anything else in the world and she would do anything for him and she would make things right if it was the last thing that she would do.

Chapter 12


Bani just walked behind Jai down the corridor into the open balcony at the end of the hall to reason out with Jai. But Jai was angry or rather frustrated with himself for not foreseeing things might turn out this way.

Bani: Jai you have to listen out please
Jai: No Bani, I have always trusted you from the time I have known you. I had specially said that I never wanted the parentage of Sia to be revealed. You should have trusted me enough to know that there would be a specific reason for me telling you that. But no you went ahead with your way of actions.
Bani: That is not how it happened. It just so came out in the course of action during the conversation with Pia in the office. Actually it didn't come out then. But yes it did lay doubts in the mind of everyone on you being the father of Sia. Then Pushkar kind of guessed it and then Pia just blurted out the truth to him to get back at me as I had cornered her into agreeing with the scheme of things. She wanted more than what I was ready to offer on top of it she wanted to speak to you and sort matters with you rather than do it with me.
Jai: But that still doesn't convince me of the fact that you let everyone know something which I had told you in full faith. I know a lot about Pia and I had warned you about that. She is one manipulative person in the end she things only of her gains. But that doesn't mean you could let something like that come out which would affect so many peoples life.
Bani: Why don't you understand that things got out of control over there and then before I could think of some kind of back up plan it just seemed to work out its own course and then there is the fact that Pushkar and his family is happy that they came to know all about it all this lies and deceit the reason of your actions everything became more clear to them. In fact they now really are feeling sorry for judging you at that point of time. They seemed eager to meet you and Bani couldn't complete her sentence.
Jai: That's it Bani you never had high regard for my family as they had misjudged me all those years for my reasons for marrying Pia, divorcing her then giving up custody of the child lot of other things I did for Pia. So now you thought to set the matters right by revealing everything and making them feel guilty. Bani were you trying to get back at them or are did you just do a gamble with life, because that is what I feel.
Bani: What do you mean by that? If you think I was trying to make your family pay for what they did to you. No I kind of achieved that when I took over the company and they don't like me very much. In fact I can guarantee you that they think of me no better then Pia.
Jai: Well looks like I have got a great damage control to do courtesy of my wife.
Bani: If I have messed up something I will sort it out. But according to me it was for the better. Any how they have agreed not to tell Sia now and when the time is right and she would come …..Jai just gave her a look that said he could murder her if Sia came to know about it.
Jai: Bani you just stay from all this. Because let me warn you something the reason why I never wanted the truth to come out was because of Pia. Mark my words she would use the fact the whole family knew about the parentage of Sia but remained quite just to obtain her custody and keep her away from her mother as she never measured up to the Walia status. She could use this fact to turn Sia against us if it would suit to her purpose
Bani: That absolute nonsense she gave up on her daughter and from the investigation as far as I have known she was never fit to be a mother. Moreover we are keeping a watch on her actions so we can always be there for Sia
Jai: That's what we know and plan to do for Sia but does she know all the facts and like I told you before Pia when required she could be quite sweet and Sia was always looking for her approval.
Bani: So now what do you plan to do.
Jai: What I have to do I will do and stay out of this.
Bani: Jai I always have kept in mind your wishes you know that one lapse of judgment and you accuse me of things that I haven't even thought about.
Jai: Bani: Just leave me alone for a while and let me sought it out you know my mind functions better if I have less interruptions from anyone. Also now I feel that I should have handles things on my own its not that don't appreciate your efforts and your input its just that I know those people and how each one functions better than you do.
Bani: Are you blaming yourself or me for all this I just can't figure out.
Jai: Bani do me a favour and go to bed.
Bani: So now I am a thorn, fine then when you feel like talking to me or having your wife by your side you can call for me.
Jai: Bani: Lets not fight I'm in no mood for it and I am kind of loosing my patience here. So why don't you go to bed as you have had a long flight and you look tired.
Bani: So now you are trying to shut me out fine do it your way.
Walks out banging the door but actually she had tears in her eyes never had Jai shut her out of any of his problems. She started getting the feeling that would his family and Sia be his priority in life and that she and the kids were secondary for him. Is that one of the reasons he never introduced her to his family. Why was it that in her whole life she has to try hard to please people and she was never forgiven for even the slightest mistakes even if she wasn't directly responsible for it. In the end everyone ended up blaming and hating her for it. She was trying first to please her father now has she got to do that with her husband also so that he would show some interest in her life, is she again going to live life on threads. God she didn't want to think about all that. With all her worries she never knew when she dozed of somewhere in the early hours of morning. When she woke up she realized that Jai had not slept in their bed and she was now really getting worried and when her friends informed her that Jai had cancelled their outing Program she was sure something is really not working right and they have had a major issue to solve if this marriage had to work.
She enquired to the house keeper where Jai was and she was informed that he is in his study and he had dropped the kids to the play group in the morning. Well seems like he never lets his kids down only looks like the wife is something he can replace. Bani goes to meet up Jai in the study and sees that he has had drinks and she wasn't pleased with that as Jai never took refuge in a bottle even when he was upset with the injuries of his accident.
Bani: Looks like someone had a long night and has taken refuge in the bottle.
Jai: Bani have you come to ask something or is it to add something more to last night's conversation.
Bani: Well I can't say for sure first I would like to know why you cancelled today's outing. Then may be we could have a decent breakfast though its close to 11 in the morning as I can see you haven't had anything other than Scotch. I don't want you to end up with a headache if not already you have developed one.
Jai: So much of concern for your husband.
Bani: Are you complaining that I have been neglecting you.
Jai: Did I say that you are sounding a bit ridiculous this morning.
Bani: Ridiculous Jai You keep saying that I never have time for a family life and when I show some concern you accuse me of things that has never even crossed my mind.
Jai: Are you trying to get into the role of a good home maker then let me tell you it doesn't suit you.
Bani: Jai I'm going out of the way to understand what the issue is all about and all you do is sit and pass judgment. Even I too would like to be a part of a family it is not that I never care for anyone you know that I would go to any lengths for you and I love you.
Jai: I know you would do anything for me but can you tell me truly you would do the same for my family too.
Bani: What are you trying to say?
Jai: I was responsible for my family from a very young age and I have always taken care of them will you be able to view them the same way as I do. I don't think so you have always been the centre of attraction and you love playing that role of a God mother and you expect people to follow you. That is not the way a family works its all about what you are willing to do for them and not what they can do for you.
Bani: Are you trying to make a saint out of me.
Jai: You don't have to be a saint for all that. All you have to do is love them as your one and own. Some one in your position knows only about the power you wield over people not the humane side and to love everyone that way you should have a heart for it. Which I doubt you have for you everything is a game but Jai didn't continue with his statement as he heard a shocked gasp from Bani and she had turned pale and lost all her colour from her face.
Bani felt as though Jai even doubted her love for him just because she didn't view his family like her own.
Hearing her shocked expression Jai knew he had chosen the wrong words and he had hurt her by saying that she wasn't capable of loving anyone because he knew that she loved him and would do anything for him.
Swearing richly he kept the glass down and went near her
Jai: that was below the belt I am sorry he tried to take her in a hug to just wash away the hurt from her eyes.
Bani: Don't you dare touch me. I don't think so I have to put up with all this nonsense that you have been telling me. How could you say that I have never loved Well let me remind you something always the people whom I have loved and cared for thought that I was never good enough for them and I never lived up to their standards. At least I thought you were an exception to that But my husband tells me now that he thinks all that was a big act on my part and that I am heartless. I never expected this from you it would have been better that you held a gun at me instead of that. She tries to go for the door but Jai stops her and tells her to listen out to him.
Jai: Please don't walk away in anger from me.
Bani: It fine for you to walk away this is double standards.
Jai: O.K. I deserved what I said but I need to settle this issue. There are some things that have to be explained.
Bani: I don't need to hear any explanations after what you said now. And take your hands of me I can't bear it.
Jai: You have been pushing me since last night and I am running low on self control.
Bani: Great then sit with the bottle and Leave me alone.
Jai: No you came to me to talk and that is what we will do
Bani: Well I have nothing to say to you
Jai: Stop struggling against me and listen.
Bani: I feel we have said that is all there to be said and we understand each other well enough.
Jai: Then we will not talk I think we communicate better this way. And his mouth came down on hers. With an iron grip he handcuffed her wrists so that her frantic movements were useless. There was something calculating and brutal and desperation in his kiss. She recognized the ruthlessness she knew he possessed when things didn't work out the way he wanted it. He was more like her in many ways and she understood him perfectly that is one of the reasons they fell in love. But now she didn't want him to win so she tried to remain passive to his advances. Jai just lifted her off her feet and said Ice will not work I know how to melt the ice.
Bani: No way, not like this Jai.
But he placed her in the middle of the big couch in the study and she tried to make an escape and pushed hard against his chest but was pinned down to the couch and his body molded itself to hers. As she turned her head his hand locked on her jaw, holding her face still as his mouth took hers again as though her struggles were non existent he began to undress her. There was determination no passion in his movements. He was n't looking for the partnership rather capitulation. Her dress was tossed aside carelessly on to the floor and he sought the sensitive hollow of her throat with his lips and tongue. She continued to struggle even as his hands moved down the silk flatness of her stomach. His fingers moved roughly over the top of her legs. Desire surged through her weighing on her limbs as she pushed and twisted. Bani knew she needed escape not only form him but also herself. He exploited her weaknesses explored her secrets only he knew until the fire now not in protest but in answer. Hungrily as his mouth sought each and every inch of her skin her fingers fumbled with the buttons of his shirt. His skin was hot against her palms and muscles tight.
Abruptly his mood altered. His cool control vanished as a thunderous urgency took place. Hooking his hand in the bodice he ripped off the chemise and his breathing grew as labored as hers. His hands were wild now bruising over her naked skin while his mouth was hard and demanding. Control was lost for both of them. There was only the sensation, only need only the dark pleasure of damp flesh and deep kisses they feeling of being one and whole. But even as he took her even as she gave herself without any reservations neither of them had won.

Later Bani woke up in her bedroom. She thought to herself Jai must have put her there after she dozed off in Jai's arms in the study. Now she knew that she was alone in her huge mansion and though what had passed between them in the morning had cost them both dearly. In the end he hadn't taken her in anger and she had given herself willingly. Desire had won over both of them but the misunderstanding remained in its wake and she knew it had to be solved quickly.
