Sorry for the delay guys - Had a friend over yesterday and went to celebrate another friends birthday today!!😳

Here's Chap 6 - hopefully it won't be to dissapointing!!😕.........my brain's to tired to redraft!

How apt for her situation thought Bani wryly as she closed the door to her bedroom, blocking out the music from the stereo system in the hall before settling herself in a comfortable chair facing the moonlight night outside. She flicked through the current novel she had been reading, before finally stopping at chapter 8, where she had left of last night. Brushing away loose tendrils of hair, Bani tried to concentrate on the words in front of her, though her tired brain had other plans.

After several futile attempts, she pushed the book away and leant back slightly, closing her eyes as her head hit the top of the chair. Almost immediately he invaded her thoughts.

Pushkar, Sahil and Ranveer had returned a few hours before from the office, and had been surprised to see Bani with a guest in tow. After they had met her and told her how pleased they were to see her again (even Ranveer had amazed her by smiling and taking her blessings), they had revealed to an annoyed Mausi that mamaji was still in the office and would not be returning soon. To say her mood had worsened would be an understatement.

Muttering about "guests", "work" and "carelessness", she had immediately rang his mobile only to be put through to his voicemail, he refused to pick up his office phone, and his secretary had told her he was away at a meeting.

Though Bani had pretended to be busy with Anu and Rano, she had been listening to every word, and had been very disappointed. She wondered if she would see him again the next day, though chances seemed bleak as the godh bharai was for women only. Maybe she would go without being able to meet him even once.

With such a dreary thought in her mind, she had feigned sleep and had escaped to her room to be alone for some time, though once she closed her eyes, it was difficult to open them again, and Bani found her tired mind floating in dreams.

"Di! Di, come quick!"

Alarmed by her sisters terror stricken voice, Bani pulled herself away from the last minute wedding preparations and hurried to where she was waiting at the foot of the stairs, a curious Jigyasa following them to Pia's bedroom where she had left the bride to be almost half an hour ago.

"Di, Pia's ran away! She just left a letter saying that she loves Pushkar and can't go through with this. What do we do Di, Mr. Walia will be furious."

The first four words hit her like a tonne of bricks. Pia, her sister, her daughter, had eloped. Had toyed with so many emotions, and left her amidst a whirlwind of problems, with a wedding which would never happen, and a groom waiting patiently at the mandap.

What seemed a lifetime later, though a few hours to be exact, she had found herself dressed in the traditional colour of red, sindoor adorning her parting and a mangulsutra hanging from her neck, facing the man who despised the very sight of her.

"I am going to put you, and your deceiving sisters through hell! That, I promise you Bani."

His first words to her as her husband.

The next few weeks were passed with his anger, her patience. His need for revenge, her silent support. His hurt, her warmth. She had born the brunt of the marriage, taken his accusations and curses in her stride until his abhorrence melted and she found the vulnerable child within.

She came to know of his past that night. His mother had passed away when he was barely 10, leaving him under the care of Mausi who loved him more than a mother. He was never very close to his father, who had indulged in women and drink after his wife's death, though he did feel aching emptiness when the accident that had left him unscathed, had taken his fathers life.

Entering his early twenties with a business to run and a family to provide for, he had married his younger sister to her childhood sweetheart, and his best friend. Once he was sure that Jigyasa was in safe hands, Jai had turned towards the small chain of hotels scattered across Mumbai, Puna and Delhi, and transformed then in to an empire, which was well known as the Walia group of companies today.

The last 15 years or so were surrounded by work. Denying Mausi's request to settle down, he had kept all relationships with women to short affairs, ending them as soon as they started, afraid that someone would scratch away the surface and find the real Jai hidden underneath, and claim his heart. He couldn't face the prospect of losing another loved one and had therefore turned his back on love, until he found Pia.

Though he later realised that the love was only a mirage. Something to fill up the emptiness inside him.

He had revealed more, poured his heart out in front of her until she had stood up and comforted him. Cradling his face in her arms until they both realised what was happening. He silently got up and walked out, spending the remainder of the night in his study.

The relationship had considerably thawed since then, straining only when Bani had tried to hide Anu's pregnancy from everyone, though the wedding - when it had finally been fixed – had brought back the lost happiness, especially as two more weddings had been announced – Sahila dn Ranos, followed closely by Ranveer and Raashi. It was a rare sight not to see the family members smiling.

But it was his smile that bewitched her. The relaxing of his jaw and the curving of his lips, which made him look younger, more carefree, and undeniably more handsome. She was falling for him.

All her doubts had been pushed to the back of her mind when he had claimed her lips on the night of the engagement. The soft caresses, the way his skilful hands had torn away her clothes, the smouldering look in his eyes as he lifted her gently, carrying her to bed before exploring every inch of her passionately, and making love to her.

That night she had truly felt like a woman.

The following morning brought her crashing down to earth. He apologised, terming the best marital night of her life as a mistake. She was drugged, he was not in his senses, it shouldn't have happened.

Not being able to meet her moist eyes he had requested her to stay until Mausi was here before placing the divorce papers in her hands and leaving.

The wedding was just over a week later, and Bani fully immersed herself in the hectic preparations, aided by a glowing Pia who was more than content with her marriage.

With the day's task completed, Bani would retire to her room, completely exhausted, to face a relationship which had become both awkward and comfortable over the past few days.

He didn't incite any physical contact after that, though his flirtatious manner unsettled her usually collected demeanour, making her blush more than was healthy. But once again she had been brought back to reality as Jigyasa had told her very smugly on the morning of the wedding that Mausi would be leaving the next day and she better had started her packing.

True to her word, Mausi bid farewell early the next day, and without anyone's knowledge, Bani followed in the evening.

For almost two months she stayed in a hostel working as a secretary, and then a personal assistant to the owner of a small firm. She hadn't contacted her sisters since the wedding, afraid of – of what? She herself didn't know.

While attending a meeting regarding some legal issues of the company, Bani bumped into Tarun, a childhood friend who had been relieved to finally find her after returning from America to discover the house destroyed, Nishikant and dead and the sisters missing.

When she had filled him in on her marriage, her sisters' lives and the most recent news – her pregnancy, he had been all set to march down to Walia Mansion and take matters in his own hands, though she had finally managed to dissuade him after a bucketful of tears.

However, he refused to let her continue living the life she had chosen for herself. After much persuasion on his part, he taken her away to Goa and had helped her in more ways than she could repay and was now a support in her life, which she couldn't do without. Though there was a man she was still waiting for.

Praying that it would not make a sound, he slowly pushed the door open, grateful of the thick carpet which silenced his steps as he stepped in to dimly lit room. Rano had warned him that she may still be awake, though his prayers were answered as he found her sleeping on a chair, looking almost like an angel – his angel.

His handsome features breaking in to a grin, he gently lifted her from the chair, easing her uncomfortable position as he placed her on the soft warm bed, his eyes flickering over the bump, visible from beneath her clothes.

Hardly being able to resist, he gently pushed away her kameez, the swollen stomach fascinating him and he proceeded to place a small kiss on her smooth skin. He froze as she stirred slightly. Putting her kameez back in place draping her with a blanket, he caressed her forehead before brushing his lips over her forehead.

After gazing at her for almost 10 minutes, he left her room, closing the door gently behind himself as on the other side, she dreamt that someone had kissed her softly.

So not all that great.........hopefully Part 7 will make up for it!!😳

Eid's on Sunday and I have guests over for Monday, so hopefully I'll have it updated for Tuesday - though I'll try to get it all done before that!😛
