hey guys...sorry for the delay in this update...but believe me when I say I was very busy with work....some of you know about it already...
Anyways...I am glad that you were waiting for this update..I heard from a lot of you with ideas and suggestions...and some of you PMed asking for the update...it was cute...loved it...so this one is for all you wonderful peeps out there...

Chapter 24:
Dadi, Ranveer, Rashi and Rajveer arrived the next morning from Delhi. Jigyasa, Aditya and Nachiket flew in from Mumbai.
Each of the new arrivals had a very different, yet emotional reunion with Binita. She was, however, very confused since none of them had half as emotional meeting with Tarun. Binita made a mental note to discuss this with Tarun later tonight.
Dadi could not control her tears when she saw Binita. She avoided talking the whole time from the fear of calling her Bani and then upsetting her. She held Binita's face in her hands and showered her forehead with kisses. 😭 😭 😭 She finally managed to say that she had missed her a lot during the past months.
Aditya, too had a very emotional meeting with her. 😭 He was happy to see his lost daughter back. He however, did not refrain from talking. He asked her how her about her well being and her whereabouts for the past few years. (I can't help it if everyone cries on seeing Bani)
Ranveer and Rashi were very happy to see Binita back too. They however slipped and called her mami. Jai quickly covered for them saying that since Tarun was almost a brother to him, they had always called her mami.
Binita was left very confused after seeing the emotional outburst of every member of the Bali family. The one reaction that left her completely stunned was Jigyasa's. Jigyasa on seeing Binita could not stop crying. She gave Binita a hug and repeatedly asked for her forgiveness. (please try to imagine this…I am trying hard to redeem all the vamps).Since she was not sure why Jigyasa doing this, Binita impulsively told her that she was forgiven. She made another mental note to ask Tarun about this particularly teary reunion later.
As everyone got done with the breakfast, the new arrivals convinced others to go for their outing tomorrow. Today, let's just spend some time together. With this decided, ladies headed to the kitchen to get the lunch prepared, while the men had a quick business meeting.
Masi and Dadi sat down to talk about general stuff and play with their grand children. Krish and Rajveer were very excited to have found playmates their same age. They were being perfect cousins and sharing their toys without much fighting. Laxmi, Simi and Tarun who had nothing in particular to do, decided to go for a short stroll.
After a while, Dadi and Masi turned on the TV and started watching some of the old home movies. The one they had on when all the ladies came out was from Jigs and Adis wedding. Jigs remembered the last time they were watching it and how Adi and Dadi made fun of her. She could feel the tears in her eyes again. She went and sat by Dadi and suddenly started crying uncontrollably
"Ma… will you be able to forgive me ever for the way I mistreated you? You were always a mother figure to me, but I never respected you. I was always rude to you and Adi. I know things have become better between Adi and I but I never had the courage to face you again. Please forgive me." (laugh if you must...but jigs can change too... 😆 )
"Arre puttar…ek taraf ma kehti ho aur doosri taraf maafi mangti ho. Aur waise bhi tu Lalita Pawar / Bindu ke role me hi achi lagti hai. Meena Kumari ban ke to tune mujhe confuse hi kar diya. And it was not always your fault. I never left an opportunity to taunt you either. So just forget about it, theek hai beta? Aur waise bhi, jab subah ka bhula shaam ko ghar lautata hai to use bhula nahi kehte."
"Pata hai ma…use Jigyasa kehte hain." Jigs completed Dadi's sentence for her.
Seeing Jigs joking about herself made everyone burst into laughter. Even Adi who had witnessed the whole scene could not help admiring Jigs for this. She had not only accepted all her mistakes so far but had also tried to make things right with all of them.
---Later in the afternoon ----
Everyone is sitting down, just talking in general.
"Ranveer, Sahil, Nachiket, beta I need a favor of you guys." Masi suddenly asked them.
"Tell us Masi. What do you want us to do? Do you need something? Just ask." Ranveer responded to Masi's question.
"Nothing too much. You all know the reason why Karuna left Laxmi with me. Given the lifestyle I live in Chandigarh, I hardly meet appropriate men for her. Since you are all almost in the same age group, can you help me find a suitable match for her? I am also planning on coming back to Mumbai soon, so it would be better if the boy is from Mumbai too."
Hearing Masi talk about her marriage, a slight blush crept up her face. She knew what her Nani's intentions were but her discussing it with everyone like this caused her a lot of embarrassment. 😳
Nach who had caught Laxmi blushing, grabbed the opportunity to tease her.
"Massi, mujhe nahi pata tha ki aap ki bakbaki navasi ko sharmana bhi aata hai? Ever since we got here this morning I have only seen her talk. When did she learn to do something besides that?" 😉
"Arre Nachiket mama, you just arrived today. I have been tolerating her for the past two days. Once she starts, she never stops. My ears are hurting already. Masi, how do you manage?" Sahil had joined in too. 😆
Seeing the guys' gang up on her, and the rest of the people either nodding their agreement or enjoying her teasing, Laxmi decided it was time to take matters in her own hand. Slightly pouting she responded,
"Sahil bhaiya, if you think I am eating you ear off, then fine. This is the last time I talk to you for the rest of my stay here. Now try as you may, I am not going to talk to you. And for you Nachiket mamaji, you barely know me, and here you are…"
"Mamaji? How did I become your mamaji? Maan na maan, mein tera mehman? Laxmi, first of all , I am not your mamaji. And secondly you can call me anything but mamaji. Nach, Nachiket, Nattu anything will work. Get it." Nach had butt in without letting Laxmi finish her sentence leaving her shocked.
Everyone else was shocked too. Nachiket had never stopped anyone from calling him mamaji…had always laughed over the fact that his neice and nephews were all the same age as him. So what was this about?
"Lekin…sab bhi toh…" Laxmi trying to defend herself.
"They are a different case and you are different." He checked himself for a second. What am I saying? "What I mean is, that Jigyasa Di and I are related, but I am not really related to your mum. So why the formality? Plus I have a very nice name too." Nachiket completed his sentence.
Masi was the first one to react to this monologue by Nachiket.
"Tum aur munna kuch cheezon mein ek se ho. He wont let anyone talk either, always make your own point, don't let the other person even explain. Anyways, baccho, as I was saying, mujhe jaldi se is ladki ke haath peele karne hain. So if you know of any nice, eligible bachelor, who can keep her tongue in control, let me know."
"Nani, you speak of my marriage as if I am some burden on you. Just say it and I will go away. No need to get rid of me like this." Laxmi got a little emotional seeing her nani trying to get her married off asap.
"Its not that way Laxmi. Don't misunderstand you nani. For a parent or a guardian, it is always of utmost importance to see their ward happy in life. And marriage is a big step. Obviously Masi wants to give you the best in life. Take me for instance, I as a mother figure to my two sisters. Did you know how much I had to fight the world to get Pia married to the man she loved? I had to take on my own husband and tolerate his wrath. And you should know by now that to go against Mr…." Binita was suddenly silent. 😲
She had just realized what she was about to say. Why did she say that? Was she just going to say Mr. Walia instead of Tarun? Why would Tarun have a problem if Pia wanted to get married? She was really confused, and looked at Tarun, hoping to find some answers there.
"Binita, I think you have tired yourself too much. Why don't you go rest for a while? Anyways, Krish will be up in some time and you will again be very busy for the rest of the day." Tarun tried to avoid the question in her eyes. "Go ahead, I will join you in a few minutes." He added, noticing the uncertain look in her eyes. 😕 😕 😕
Everyone in the room had suddenly got quiet when Binita had almost said Mr. Walia. They all wondered if this meant that she was regaining her memory. But then why did she look so confused. They were worried for her well being but at the same time they saw some hope of her regaining her memory. Once she left the room, everyone heaved a sigh a relief. No one was happy that Tarun had made her leave, and they immediately asked him what that was about. 😡 😡 😡
He explained to them that he thinks she is remembering bits and pieces of her life right now. But he wants to confirm with her doctor, if it were okay to tell her the truth right now. If permitted he would go ahead and let her know. Saying this he excused himself to go call the doctor and then check on Binita.
Once he left, everyone there started discussing what just happened. They knew that if slowly they were to bring up topics from Bani's past, Binita would start to remember things. But they did not want to be too obvious in their efforts.
Unfortunately Jai was missing through out this whole scene. He was busy attending to a business call…

Coming up next... what will Tarun tell Bani? about what just happened and about the other things Bani had questions about....
The Mandir piece...I have heard from a few of you already and I want to keep it as the last piece to remind her about the reality of her relationship to Mr. Walia. I have another peice after that to remind her of the reason she is now with Tarun...and then maybe the END....
