I know this one is short but I figured that I might as well post this since I may not be able to do another update until the weekend...
Please leave behind a note as usual...and your ideas and suggestions are welcome...

Chapter 16:

"You can be such a jerk when you want Jai…" while this is being said, you can hear the distinct sound of a slap and Jai can feel the stinging pain on his left cheek "and you know that well. I thought you knew me but I was wrong. I may have loved Binita, lekin agar tumne yeh soch liya ki mein tumhe Binita ki zindagi mein itni assani se lautne doonge to yeh tumhari galat fahmi hai." (I had the urge to do this since I saw him kiss Pia's forehead…so now that I feel better lets continue)

"What was that for?"

"Bani ko dukh pohchane ke liye aur yeh sochne ke liye ke tum yoonhi wapas bhi aa jaoge. I may not be the jerk to come between the two of you, but let me warn you, I do not want you to pursue Bani while she is Binita. Mere kehne ka yeh matlab hai ki, jab tak uski yaddash wapas nahi aati tum aisa kuch nahi karoge aur isime tumhari samjdari hogi.. If and when, she is better you will be given the chance to explain yourself and that I will promise you."

"But why? That may take forever."

"Because I say so Mr. Jai Walia. If I had wanted her to know her past, I would have done that a long time ago. But I did not, not because I was being selfish, but because I do not want her to suffer. Her doctors had clearly stated that she should not be stressing herself too much in order to identify her past. And I am determined to keep it that way. Honestly, in the last few weeks she has been regaining bits and pieces of her memory. She remembered Rano, recognized her, she remembers this house too. I am very sure, over the next few months she will regain her memory, all she needs is time and maybe some coaxing (this was said by Tarun with a glint in his eyes, as if giving Jai some clue)"

With that said Tarun stormed out of the room, completely forgetting about the fact that they were supposed to baby-sit Krish.

Rano walked in a few minutes later with Krish in tow,
"Jiju, yeh to wapas darwaze ko khula pa kar bahar chala gaya tha. Bilkul badmash bacha hai…jaroor apni masi par gaya hai."

"Shayad apne baap par bhi gaya ho, kyon Rano?"

"I don't know about that Jiju? Masi se poochna padega. Anyways, where is Tarun bhaiya? Di wanted to ask him something before we left. I will leave Krish here. You boys have fun together…" with a you-know-what-I-mean look in her eyes.

"Tarun just left from here…he should be in his room. Didn't Bani see him there? Maybe they have already met so don't worry about it." He was still trying to get over his recent confrontation with Tarun and it was obvious from his tone about what probably happened.

"Jiju, they don't share a room. Di sleeps in the same room as Krish." Rano left giving Jai a knowing look.

Jai wasn't sure what to make of this piece of information that Rano purposefully let slip. Should this mean that he still has a hope? He felt a new surge of happiness rise in him and he got down to spending time with his son…he liked the sound of it…he had his son by him…the child he had always wanted…but with this also came the realization of what he has been missing…but this was not the time to brood…he had this opportunity to spend time with his son and he did not want to lose it.

Meanwhile…in some other corner of the house…

"Tarun bhaiya…I cannot believe what you did today. Do you know Jiju was in such a state and I was so scared of going in there? I almost thought that if Krish wasn't with me, I would have been dead by now. I have seen him angry many a times in the past two years but today was different. It was as if he was rattled from the core. I still cannot believe that I could manage to keep a straight face in there. I hope this works coz I am not willing to part with my precious life just yet, not before I me my baby's face. Bas ab Di ki yaddash jaldi aa jaaye phir ye sab khatam ho jaye."

Once Rano left the room, Tarun did not know what got into him and he completely broke down. He was so lost in his grief that he did not realize when someone entered the room. In fact, he was completely shocked when a very compassionate hand was placed on his thigh.

Jai did not realize how soon the time went by…he tried his best to bond with his son but being the stubborn, arrogant child he was, he would not budge…all he wanted was his daddy. Tarun…you are so going to pay for this…he swore under his breath as he walked out of his room to find Tarun.

oh you are doing such a lovely job of potraying the emotions of both Jai and Tarun...they both love B so much.... 😭 😭

liked the way you had the 2 erstwhile friends talking,...didnt want to but can so empathise with Tarun...if Im guessing and hoping right it is Jai who laid a compassionate hand on Tarun and that he has realised what a wrench it is for Tarun too esp since Tarun too didnt know what had happened in the past few years with Jai..

Rano has been helpful to Jai here too eh?
totally enjoyed it....and now going back to my true nature 😆
being a greedy🐷 and asking for more..soon
