Hello all...I am back with another update...and possibly my last.
There seem to be new people reading this FF...but somehow again the lack of response is causing me to feel that this FF is not upto the mark and I would rather stop it here...

Chapter 15:
Once Bani left the roomā¦Jai felt like his whole world turned upside down in what seemed like just a few minutesā¦maybe half an hourā¦how was this fair God? Or was he destined to suffer for the rest of his life for a mistake that he did not commit? See the love of his life married to his best friend? š And his own child growing up away from him? As soon as he thought about this, his thoughts returned back to Tarun who was still standing there flabbergasted at the happenings of the past few minutes.
Tarun at this moment felt like the biggest je*k š on the face of the earthā¦what has he done now? He knows that Jai's life without Bani was a torture for himā¦but the deed was done. How could he, without a moment's hesitation have married Bani when he knew she was still in love with Jai? š And even though she did not remember anything about her past, it was evident from her recent encounter with Jai that there was something inside her that still stirred when she saw Jai. š How was he to undo what has happened? And what will Binita's reaction be if she finds out about her past? Will she believe Tarun and trust him like she did in the past? What if she turns against him? Will he be able to survive her hatred? š¤
"What have you done Tarun? What have I done? Tell me nowā¦my great friendā¦why did you not once think that you could have contacted me and we could have together done something at that point? Why did you just make up this cock and bull story? š” And what is with the whole Binita thing? š” Ohhhā¦let me seeā¦now I get itā¦youā¦you who still claims to be my friendā¦is in love with Baniā¦the woman you know I cannot live withoutā¦the woman who accepted your story as the truth since she did not have any memory of her ownā¦why Tarunā¦ why did you deceive me and Bani both? And what about my sonā¦is he to grow up and live all his life not knowing who his father is?" said a cynical Jai, sarcasm laid in his every word.
(Let's say while all this was going onā¦prankster Krish had managed to slip out of the room again. I do not want the baby to be witness to any of the verbal assault that is about to take place)
Tarun was guilty, yet as he thought of that day he could not get over his anger. š”
"Enough of this cr*p Jai. I have had enough of all this. Listen to me now will you. I gave her a new identity since she had wanted one. She wanted a new name even before her attempted suicide and consequently lost her memory. She wanted to go away from you and you keep forgetting that the two of you were officially divorced. No, correction, you did not forget thatā¦and that is why she is in the state she is in nowā¦you are the one who is solely responsible for her current state. And don't even get me started on what all she had to go through because of you." š š š (I love Tarun so could not help it)
"Me? What did I do? You took her to Mt. Abu and promised me to convince her to talk to me. I waited for you to come back. And you never came back until now. How am I responsible for what happened? š "
"Wait you did Jai, but you could not wait any longer, right? The day she decided to end her life was the day you had announced your engagement to Pia. š” It was there, the headline news on all the dailies. That is what had prompted the sudden change in her behavior. That was the last nail in the coffin, she did not think twice before she jumped. I was shocked too, but only after Bani was better again did it register that it was your engagement's news that caused her to take that drastic step. And you ask me how you are responsible. Could you not even wait for me to come back to Mumbai? Or were you so desperate to be with Pia?"
"Tarun, what do you mean? You know the truth about Pia and what happened between us, don't you? I could never get engaged to Pia, let alone married. That news was her and Jigyasa's doing. I myself was shocked when I saw it." Jai too was angry at this time and could not hold it anymore "Piaā¦what have you doneā¦Godā¦ how I wish I had strangled her that day itself when I found out the truth. But I could notā¦because doing that would have meant betraying Bani once more. Now I just wish I had done that. She ruined my life and moreover almost killed her own sister in her stupid attempts to achieve what was never hers." (I wish you had killed her...but what was the use...the deed was done)
Tarun who was now able to gather his wits together calmly responded,
"Jai, I know now that you were not responsible for that. But when you accused me of tricking Bani into marrying me I could not take it any longer. I may have made a mistake, but at that time I am sure I did what I thought correct. With your engagement announced, Bani pregnant without any recollection of her past, doubting her character and child, my urge to protect her took over my sense of reason. š¤ All I wanted to do at that time was hold her close to my heart and protect her from the likes of you and give her all the happiness in the world that she rightfully deserved. š She was, and is the most wonderful person I have met till date and yet all the misfortunes in the world always came her way Jai. I could not bear to see the sadness in her eyes anymore Jai."
Tarun had not realized when his almost calm had sudddenly turned possessive. Jai, who was the first to notice, could not help but sneer at the irony of their situations. Here were two grown men, best of friends, proclaiming, not so openly, their love for the very same woman, but both in their own manner. One who had lost everything in love and the other who had found everything?
"Looks like my friend has finally found someone who could steal his heart and tie him down. I am happy for you Tarun, but at the same time I cannot help hating you. You know that right?" Jai tried to his best to keep his voice free from his emotions. "We shall just have to let the best man win because I for one am not going to let Bani get away from me that easily this time." (Good luck you two... šš¼ )

And that my friends is the end. At this point the story can turn either way. Tarun and Jai are both awesome and you can decide whom you want Bani to be with.
