Both of them i.e jay and bani divided the prize money and went out for shopping together. Both spent the money but didn't agree to reveal what they had bought unless the other person did so. Finally none of them knew where the other one has spent the money.
During bani's and saahil's vacation they always used to freak out on Sunday with jay. It was a hard job to make jay say yes but bani knew thousand of tricks and jay fell trapped in one of those. It's not that he didn't like the way his Sundays were passing, actually he waited throughout the week for that time. It was great opportunities for him to get to know his nephew saahil more and of course his sweet friend bani!
At times when he felt tired at office, he used to make a call to saahil or bani. In case they were unavailable he had begun nurturing a habit of recollecting the events of the past weekends or Sundays or better than that he used to plan for the next Sunday. Once jay's father asked him to go out of station for some work and that too on a Friday! He knew it wouldn't take less than 4 days for him to return. He was literally disappointed but his reserved nature prevented him from pleading to his father to postpone the visit. He wasn't doing anything on that Sunday but he was away from his new friends! After he returned he was surprised to know that his loyal friends actually cancelled their plans just for him.
Days passed by, the families celebrated Christmas, new year together even jay's birthday, the one in a long time much due to bani's insistence. The college was about to reopen. It was the last Sunday before the new session. So saahil and bani planned to have a get together at saahil's place. Jay wasn't much impressed by the idea and tried out ways to make them change the plan. But bani had already made up her mind and she was able to make jay agree to join them in the get together.
When jay reached the place he found that none of the guests had arrived. He asked bani and came to know that due to construction work going on many of the roads their friends have decided to postpone the get together otherwise they could have faced difficulty while returning home. As they were talking a female voice interrupted their conversation. Bani jumped with joy when she saw pia, her cousin and rano, pia's best friend.
Bani(elated): "pia, rano. Thank god tum log to aaye."
On hearing rano's name, saahil came running least bothering about the clothes he was wearing. Jay looked at the two unknown female faces who were exchanging some jokes with bani, jigyasa and dadi. Jigyasa saw saahil, she excused herself and held his ears to lead him to his room. Saahil then realized that he was in towels. He got a strong dose from jigyasa for his reckless behaviour.
Meanwhile bani introduced pia and rano to jay. Bani even mentioned that pia's boyfriend pushkar was rano's elder brother. She started to narrate how pia met rano in an intercollege meet, both studied genetics but at different colleges and in different years as rano was younger than pia by an year. Pia was in bani's college whereas rano was in another prestigious college. How they started to chat on phone, then gradually became the best pals. She elaborated the fact that pushkar and pia fell in love at first sight. It was rano who called her brother to pick her from pia's house one day and then the rest was history. Jay actually took immense interest in the story and it was the way bani narrated everything made it more interesting. He expressed his wish to meet pushkar.
Saahil by that time dressed appropriately joined the group and made several attempts to draw rano's attention towards him but he failed miserably. He finally resoluted to seek bani's help but he knew that he ought to be careful regarding her.

Part18
As the college reopened, assignments and class tests ruined all the fun the trio used to have. A month passed already and it was February, Bani's favourite month. God knows how she used to get the naughtiest in that month. Actually she liked the weather during February too much so that her mood remained fresh always. For the past one month she didn't get much time to spend with jay. So she decided to utilize her off day due to some event at college by spending some time with jay.
It was 1 o' clock when jay's cell phone rang. He had a look on the number and it was unknown to him. After a few seconds of staring at the number he received the call. On the other end there was a feeble yet stylish female voice. Jay couldn't recognize bani's voice as she was speaking in a different tone.
Bani: "hello mr.jay walia."
Jay: "may I know whom am I speaking to?"
Bani: "but we didn't start to speak yet."
Jay(louder): "listen madam we are already speaking. May I know your name please."
Bani: "naam mein kya rakha hai?"
Jay: "look I guess apke paas bahut free time hai barbaad karne ke liye but sorry to say mere paas nahi hai. Toh agar aapka kaam ho gaya hai toh main phone rakhta hoon."
Bani: "nahi nahi. Main to bas majak kar rahi thi. Actually hum dono ek dusre ko jaante hain. Main…………….sanjana."
Jay: "sanjana? Kaun sanjana?"
Bani: "arre sanjana. Yaad hai hum new year's eve pe mile the."
Jay: "shayad. Dekhiye mujhe yaad nahi hai."
Bani: "no problem. Ek kaam karte hain. kyun na hum aaj coffee peene chale aap ke hi restaurant mein."
Jay: "but main apko pehchanunga kaise?"
Bani: "what? (controlling herself) aap taiyyar hain. Oh thanks! Aur apko mujhe pehchanne ki jarurat nahi, main to apko pehchanti hoon na. to thik hai hum aaj shaam dot 5 baje milenge. Bye. Till then have a nice time."
Bani was getting impatient to see jay's reaction. She reached the restaurant 5 minutes earlier and took a seat at the corner. As the clock struck 5 she could see jay entering the restaurant. He looked here and there for a minute or two and then he took a seat. His phone kept ringing and he got engrossed in telephonic discussion in no time. Already 30 minutes have passed but jay was least attentive about it. Bani then decided to do it in another way. She went towards jay's table and behaved as if it was a pleasant surprise, meeting him. Jay had just finished making a call.
Jay: "bani tum yahan?"
Bani: "haan main apni ek friend se milne aayi thi aur tum(inquisitively)?"
Jay: "waisa hi kuch samajhlo(trying to avoid to tell the truth)"
Bani felt very happy as her plan of fooling jay worked. She wanted laugh louder but she couldn't in front of jay. So she went to the washroom. Meanwhile jay checked out his watch and finally decided to leave. But then he thought to leave along with bani. He picked up his cell phone from the table and then called the number from which that unknown sanjana called him. The ring was going but no one picked up. Without disconnecting the line he looked on the table where another cell phone was vibrating. As he had no knowledge whose phone it was, he picked it up and saw his name flashing on the screen. He looked up to see bani standing a few steps away from the table but completely petrified. Jay left his seat and stood close to bani. Without uttering a single word he left the restaurant holding her hand after he settled her bill. They walked till they reached jay's car in the parking lot. Finally jay spoke.
Jay(in an angry tone): "bani what kind of a joke is this?"
Bani(regaining confidence): "what did I do?"
Jay: "all this stupid sanjana show was a joke and you played it with me with that cell phone god knows whose?"
Bani: "excuse me it's my new mobile phone. The latest one. And you. you are accusing me for what? Taali ek haath se nahi bajti. Na jaan na pehchan main tera mehmaan jaise tumne aaj behave kiya hai. Yun to bade bhole bhale se dikhte ho par ho nahi. Ek anjan ladki ne coffee par bulaya to jhat se maan gaye? Main aaj hi aunty ko jake batati hoon."
Jay: "haan thik hai jao."
Bani: "main sach mein bata doongi."
Jay: "bata dena. Mujhe kya? Mujhe laga tha ki roshni ki koi dost hogi."
Bani: "is roshni back from Singapore?"
Jay: "hmmmm….. but you. you now go from here. You have wasted my time really."
Bani: "ok let's go together. Meri gaadi maine ghar bhijwa di hai."
Jay finally broke into a smile and and started to believe strongly that this bani was impossible. Bani didn't miss to notice his smile and she finally had a whole hearted laugh which she desired to do for the past so many minutes. Both of them continued laughing like fools for 2 minutes standing in the middle of the parking lot.

Few months later:
Bani was in second year and was doing well in her class. Actually she became the second girl of her class and one of the favourites of every teacher. Meanwhile the walias were busy fixing up jay with roshni. As both of them knew each other for long and the families were really interested in their marriage, the issue came up. At first jay refused to the proposal but later on due to his mother's insistence he agreed to it. Roshni on the otherhand was also interested in the marriage. When jay told bani about his marriage with roshni, she was not too happy with it. Actually she was not convinced that the pair will do well but she was not in a strong position too to object.
The marriage proceedings had just begun when there was a tiff between roshni and jay. It was while they began shopping for their engagement when in an interview jay's friend sonali who was an actress stated that she would have loved to get married to jay walia. Roshni got furious over it and argued with jay. Jay tried out every possible way of explaining that sonali was used to make such silly comments and there was nothing to get serious about. But who could make miss roshni understand? Finally the marriage broke off. Roshni flew to the states and jay was more of disappointed for his family than hurt. When sonali came to know of the events she apologized a lot to jay and she was even ready to talk to roshni personally. But jay requested her not to do so as he knew that roshni wouldn't understand her mistake. That was when bani met sonali for the first time. Sonali was very fond of bani and they became friends within sometime. Everything was back to normal as jay requested his family members not to persuade roshni for the marriage.
Meanwhile saahil had tried to talk to bani about rano but he was never so courageous to speak clearly. Bani realized his indications like linking rano to any conversation or to ask about her or anything else but she decided to keep mum until he speaks about it.

Bani's parents needed to go to mt. abu to settle some dispute over their mt. abu property so they decided to keep bani at the walia mansion for the next two weeks. Bani was very excited as it was a welcome change for her. Jay was happy with the news but didn't know what was coming his way. The first two days went without much change but the third day which was Sunday marked the beginning of thrill and excitement in jay and bani's life.
Aditya and jay were playing chess in the evening. As bani joined them only to watch, at times she felt the urge to help aditya as he made the wrong moves. Once she shrieked 'no' that made aditya cautious regarding his moves. He then started to seek bani's help before making any move. Jay realised after sometime that aditya was cheating on him. He looked at bani who behaved as if she knew nothing. Jay left his seat and headed towards bani. As soon as she saw jay coming towards her she started running. Jay was in no mood to leave her so he followed her throughout the house. Both of them had a cat and mouse race until jay bumped into his mother. Krishna was highly surprised to find her son running like the way he used to in his childhood. Jay kept standing looking like a fool while bani and aditya shaked hands on their victory.
Krishna: "jay kya hua? Tum is tarah kyun daud rahe the?"
Jay: "mummy dekho na jijaji aur bani…………." He suddenly realised that he was complaining like a child. He got back to his seat and with a confident smile he indicated bani 'the game is not over'.
Jay thought of ways to take a revenge on bani, so he called saahil for his rescue. Saahil came after an hour and the uncle-nephew duo planned out something. It was saahil's responsibility to initiate the plan but in the eleventh hour he was struck with a fear. He thought that if he did any such thing that will infuriate bani, that definitely meant that she won't help him in pursuing rano. He made thousand of excuses to jay to abandon the plan and finally succeeded to do so. Thank god!
At night when jay went to retire in his room he couldn't sleep. He was determined to teach her a lesson. He felt like the boy in school who spends his valuable time at home planning to get rid of that girl. Whooosh! After a long time, the same thrill.
Next day morning as jay stepped out of his house for jogging he saw bani waiting outside. She looked at him and raised her eyebrow questioning 'what are we waiting for?' they sat in the car and went to the park. They placed their bags on a bench and started jogging.
Jay: "mujhe nahi pata that ki tum bhi subah ko jogging par nikalti ho."
Bani: "shame on you jay walia. Shame on you."
Jay: "why? Kya kiya maine?"
Bani: "tumhe apni friend ki habits bhi nahi pata?"
Jay : "come on!!! Jaise ki tumhe meri saari habits pata hai?"
Bani: "saari nahi par haan bahut saari varna main subah tumhara bahar intezaar kyun karti?"
Jay: "oh! Thik hai, thik hai. Tum jitney din yahaan pe ho mujhe bhi sab pata lag jayega. Dekh lena."
Bani(taking a deep sigh): "dekhte hain."
Suddenly jay remembered all that revenge thing! This was the time. He increased his pace and went on talking to bani. He knew bani had to increase her speed to be in line with him. This continued for a while but finally bani stopped and looked at jay inquisitively. Jay broke into a smile and innocently looked at her.
Jay: "what happened bani? Why did you stop? I guess you are not among those joggers who jog less and survey the greenery more?"
Bani: "no I am not among them. Even I am not among them also who are a bit crack, who come for jogging and then start running as if they are in Olympics."
Jay didn't know how to answer. She was always a step ahead of him. He simply gave an awkward smile and finally both of them left.
