Nalini: He won't find out... if you keep your mouth shut...

Bani: I'm begging you, don't do this... I won't say anything now… but if you don't stop-

Nalini: Watch your mouth Bani! Just because my foolish husband and his thankfully belated wife had a soft spot for you, does not mean you and your sister will enjoy the same indulgence from me! I won't let you sink your claws into my husband's money!

She pushed the quilt off her, turning over, murmuring in her sleep...

Bani looked around the room, frantically searching for something... anything... her eyes fall on a glass vase and she smashes it over Rishabh's head... he falls to the floor, blood pours from the wound... grabbing Rano's hand she runs...

Bani's eyes were closed but the tears fell, dampening her pillow...

Bani, tearfully: Kuch nahin kiya maine Sir... aap please mujhpe yakeen kijiye...

Rishabh: Toh phir poonchiye na Papa, mere sar pe yeh ghav... unke ghar pe itne saare paise milna... usne dhokha diya hai aapko Papa... she wanted to trap me too, and when I refused she attacked me with that vase!! And now she has resorted to embezzling funds from the company account…

Bani: Nahi Sir, yeh-

Hrishikesh Banerjee: Toh phir tum kya kar rahi thi vaha par...?

Bani: Me voh... me...

She looks at Nalini... at Rishabh... unable to tell the truth, remembering their threats, she hesitates, looks at the floor...

Banerjee: Agar tum sahi ho toh sach bolo Bani…

Nalini: Yeh kya bolegi darling? Agar usse sach kehna aata toh kehti na! Aise logon ko tum nahin jaante darling…

Banerjee: Me tumhe apni safaayi dene ka mauka de raha hoon Bani… because I trust you… tell me the truth…

She remembers Rishabh's threats against her sister, Nalini's warning to her… stays silent, but cannot look him in the eye…

Banerjee: Mujhe tumse yeh umeed nahi thi Bani... I treated you like a daughter after your father died… and this is how you repay me…?

Bani: Sir...

Banerjee: Tumhaari yeh jhuki hui nazar sab kuch keh rahi hai Bani…just get out of my sight... leave this city... I never want to set eyes on you again.

Rishabh: Papa hame Police ko bulaana chaahiye...

Banerjee: Nahin... naam hamara hi kharaab hoga… just throw her out of the house…let her live with her own disgrace... I trusted you Bani… you let me down…if you ever had even an iota of respect for me then leave, leave and never come back!

Rishabh, roughly escorting her outside: If I ever hear of you even trying to contact my father… I will ruin you… and your sister… in the worst way imaginable…

He pushes her out of the house…

Rishabh, smirking: oh… and Bani… don't expect a good reference from Banerjee Finance Inc.

The door slams shut on her face.

Bani jumps awake with a gasp, old wounds scratched open by Jai's tender words….

She holds Mickey close to her… it smelt of him… and her thudding heart was comforted a little. Just holding it reminded her of the warmth and tenderness of his embrace… her eyes well up again as she cursed her own inability to tell him everything about her past… of why she had left Mt Abu… why she had been unable to find a job elsewhere… why she used to spend so much time looking over her shoulder… a fear that Jai had made her forget… until now. But all his talk of trust and faith… the respect she saw in his eyes for her… it worried her…

When she had moved to Mumbai she had wanted a clean slate… she hadn't been too worried about lying to a prospective boss… but Jai wasn't just her boss anymore…

Their relationship didn't stand a chance if she couldn't be as truthful as he had been with her… but she didn't want to fall in his esteem… she didn't want him to doubt the trust he seemed to have in her…

She knew she was innocent… but what if he didn't believe her…?
