Chapter 8
-After everything that happned the girls, (Anu, Jigyasa and Rano) were finally able to get Bani to close her eyes and sleep at almost 3 am. Jai had left a driver behind so Rano went home with Jigyasa for the night. They promised Anu that they would be back in the morning around 10am. It was now only 7am when Anu and Bani were awakened by the pounding on their door. Anu gets up to open the door, and sees that its the college dean who looks furious.-
A- Sir aap yahaan?
Dean- Bani kahaan hai?!
A- Woh...
B- (just then comes to the door) Kya hua Anu?
D- Bani Dixit, u have to pack your things at once and get out of out hostel. U are no longer welcome here.
B- Sir?
A- why sir, problem kya hai?
D- What is this...we will not tolerate any thign liek this from the students at our college.
(He throws the paper at them. It is the mornings paper and the front cover is a pic of Bani from the library with her clothign torn. The title says "Girls like this Cry Rape when they seduce the men"...making it seem like Bani had seduced Pushkar.)
A- Sir yeh saab jhoot hai...nothign like this happned...
S- Main kuch nahin janit...u hav to go Bani.
A- Lekin sir....
D- Ms Anu if u have a problem then u can go as well.
A- Lek...
B- Baas Anu, main chali jaungi...tum kuch maat kahena...think of your education.
A- Lekin Bani...where will u go?
B- Ill go home to cachi and take it from there.
(Bani packs her thigns and leaves. She gives Anu a hug and says she will see her later. Anu then tries calling Jigyasa and Rano but both their phones have lost all charge. Bani arrives at her cachis house around 9am., she knocks on the door and is greated by her cachi who is fuming mad.)
C- Toh tum aagaye, aapni muh kaala karke.
(Bani just keeps looking down. Her hands are full becuse she has 2 suit cases and her hand bag with her)
C- Kaal kya kahaa tha tumne ke tum Jigyasa ki gaar mein ho. Mujhe paata tha...tum khabi na khabi aisa kaam karogi. Chi, besharam. Acaha hua ke tumhari ma aur bap zinda nahin hai yeh saab dekh ne ke liye. (Bani starts to cry). Oh ho, why r u crying...rona to hume chahiyeh, kahin ka nahin choda tumne hume. Why r u here? After all this u think u can say here no way. Tumhari is gaar mein koi jaga nahin hai, get out. Rano se bhi maat milna.
B- Magar Cachi...mere baath toh suniyeh...
C- kuch nahin sunna mujhe...get out!
(Cachi pushes Bani out and closes the door on her face.)
B- (crying profusely) -thinking- what will i do now, where will i go. I have no one else but Rano and cachi will keep Rano from me. I cant go to Anu or Jigyasa because they have to think aobut their own families. How will i face tarun? God why me, why did u do this to me. (Bani then goes and sits on a bench near a bus stop. She is oblivious to ppl around her. She is lost in her own world)
(Mean while at the Walia house: Jigyasa and Rano have been trying Anu and Bani for hours with no luck. Anu had to go home after al that happned cuz her parent s called her home. It is now almost dark and the weather is really bad. No one knows where Bani is. Jai has some private investigaters looking for pushkar. Sahil and Adi r also hepling by going out to look for some leads. One call comes in that someone saw Pushkar getting on a train from the station. Jai sends Sahil out to check it out. Sahil has no luck and is headed back home. It begins to rain very hard. He is driving past a bus stop that is totally deserted because of the rain. Then as he is pulling away he sees the outline of a person. He backs up to offer to help that person and sees who it is. He sees a wet, tear stained, red eyes lost looking Bani. He gets out of the car and goes to her.)
S- Aare Bani tum yahaan?! What r u doing here?
(Bani is still just staring out into the street)
S- Bani say sumthing!
(Bani is shocked out of her unresponsive state when she hears Sahil yella t her)
B- Sahil Bhaia aap?
S- Bani why r u out here in this rain?
B- Hostel se mujeh nikal diya gaya aur phir cachi ne mujhe gaar ke andar nahin jane dia.
S- (he gets her bags together and gets her by the shoulder; when he gets close to her like that she jerks back as a reflex) Sorry bani, i shouldnt have held u like that, but chalo tum mere saath Walia house jarahi ho.
(Sahil helps Bani into the car and they dirve off)
(At the Walia house Jai and Adi are still working on leads while Jigyasa and Rano are still trying to get info on Bani. Everyone is tensed when a fuming mad Tarun walks in)
J- Aare Tarun tum, kya hua u look upset?
T- Upset, im so mad i could kill her.
A- Kill who?
T- Woh besharam Bani aur kaun! Why did she get engaged to me if she had hobbies liek this.
J- Tarun what do u mean,?
(Tarun takes out his laptop and shows everyone the pics that Pushkar sent to him of Bani. Pushkar made it seem like bani was some kind of dirty model and does this for money and fun. Everyone is stuned that he has those pics. Massi and Dadi dont say anything. Jai and Adi are furious at what they just saw.)
T-Chi...maine kaisa ladki pasand kia, uski toh koi character hi nahin hai. Woh toh...
(Just then Sahil enters the house with a socking wet Bani. Jisyasa sees this from upstairs and comes running with Rano)
R- Didi aap kahaan thi, hum aapko kabse dond rahe hai.
Jig- Bani kya hua, tumhari yeh halat.
J- Sahil kya hua?
S- Bhaia woh...
A- Rano, Jigyasa tum log Bani ko upar lekar jao, she is soaked to the bone. Use change karni chahiyeh.
Jig- Gi, Chalo Bani.
(Bani goes up with them still lost in her own world)
J- Sahil...
S- Haan woh...(he tells them the story about what happened and how he cae across Bani at the bus stop all by herself in the rain)...so thats why bhaia, maine Bani ko humari gaar le aaye.
T- Sahil, tumhe usko us bus stop paar hi chod dehna chahiye tha.
(Just then Jigyasa and Rano retun with a dry but still very tired and weak looking Bani. Jai had told the butler to get some hot tea and samosas for her to eat)
R- Didi aap kuch toh ligiye, i know u havent eaten anything.
Jig- Haan bani, i know how much u love hot tea, its your favorite.
(no luck Bani just stares into space)
T- Aare Bani yeh natak chodo, no one believes u!
(Everyone turns to Tarun in shock)
J- Tarun! What r u saying. Tum jante bhi ho ke uski saath kya hua?
A- Tarun Bani ki haalat to dekho.
T- Yeh saab iski natak hai, just to get money. Thats why u agreed to marry me right, so u can get my money, u dirty whore!
S- Tarun Bahia...baas...aab main aur nahin sun sakta...aap Bani ko yeh kya keherahe hai.
J- Tarun tum sono toh kya hua (Jai then tells him the details about waht happned. The rape his rescuing her;everything)
T-OMG Raped? Nahin yeh saab uski chal hai, she is just character less! I will not marry her, humara rishta aab nahin raaha, That B****!!!
J-Baas Tarun!...aage kuch maath kahena...main saab kuch mane ke liye tayaar hoon...aaga tu mujhese yeh bhi kahe ki assman neel nahin green hai toh main manlungi...lekin main yeh kabhi nahim mannungi ke Bani ke charitra pe daag hai.!!!
(Everyone stares at Jai for what he just said, even our shell shocked Bani. They r suprised to see that Jai has so much passion and anger and frustration for Bani. No one is more shocked than Tarun)
T- Jai tum in ladkiyoon ko nahin jante...woh hume aapni jaal mein phasane ki kosish mein hai...
A- Tarun baas...
J- Tarun tu mere ghaar se nikal ja...isse pehele ke main kuch kardoon, tu chala ja...
T- Jai tu is ladki ke liye humari dosti tod rahi hai.
A- Jai kya Tarun, hum bhi...asse dost nahin chahiyeh jo ek aurat ke baare yeh saab soch sakta hai, aur woh bhi humari Bani ki baare mein.
T- Tik hai, main jarahaan hoon, (turns to Bani) aab tumhara plan toh fail hogaye...kya karoge...no one will marry u now...u filthy whore...
(Bani closes her eyes and tears just come out, no sound. She is in pain and everyone can see it but Tarun. Jigyasa and Rano quickly go to her and envelop her into a hug0
J- Tarun kaun kaheta hai ke Bani ki shaadi nahin hoga, kaun kaheta hai ke use koi shaadi nahin karega...Bani ki shaadi hoga, woh bhi us din jo fix kia hai...kyunki Bani se MAIN shaadi karunga......
