What happens when 4 Members of the KS Forum meet one Warm and Sunny Afternoon in a popular joint at a Posh South Delhi Market?
What happens when 4 women of different age group, different profile and different background happen to be Lunching together, with nothing in common except a strange friendship formed on the Net?
What happens when you meet people whom you have only heard and read before, but never seen or known, yet the moment your eyes meet, the friendship and camaraderie is instant?
What happens when the love for Jai Walia and mounting irritation for KS is common between 4 strangers?
This and a lot more was what happened when Aarthy, Sujata, Pooja and Rekha decided to meet one fine day…..aka Raaga, Garf, Pooja.Walia and yours truly MT! For one, I was late as usual and after frantic rounds of calling one another on our cell phones and deciding, changing and rechanging the location, we finally zeroed in on Pizza Hut at Greater Kailash Part I! Why GK? Well, it was closest for the three girls and poor me had to travel from one corner of the World to reach this place! But you see, Majority always wins! Why Pizza Hut? Ask the girls? 😕First, Sujata suggested Barista, but later got to know that Barista has been shut down. 😆Lolz….Then it was Mc Donald's, but on reaching there and finding the wrong group, I got a call from her telling me its Pizza Hut now! I told them to stop playing Musical Chairs and that I am reaching in 5 minutes!
As I straightened my Kurta and tried to be all dignified and graceful (Only tried…But failed as usual!) and entered Pizza Hut, my eyes fell on a young and very pretty looking girl (Looking like a College Professor for some reason) sitting with a Notepad preening seriously into it. I coughed and asked serenely, "Aarthy?" The lady in question gave me the most bewildered look and nodded negatively, I was immediately red, thinking how weird the girl in question must feel, that I have come to meet someone and I don't even know how she looks like.😳 As I turned away and tried to make a quick exist, a gaggle of feminine voices broke behind and Lo Behold, It was none other than my three invisible friends with whom I had been chatting and interacting for the last few months! A madcap and spontaneous hug followed and as usual, I was the one with the loudest voice, scaring the crap out of the poor guys in Pizza Hut (We are truly banned from there!)😆
After somewhat settling down followed by a lot of laughter & amusement on actually meeting the people whom I had never known in my life before, we kind of placed our order for Iced Tea. Sue excused herself cause she had a bad throat! Meanwhile, just like Aarthi, I glanced across at the three young ladies. Poo (You guys had to hear the description she gave of herself, she is just too cute!) in a off-white salwar kameez, very much the somber and reserved MBA student! Sujata, amazingly young looking for her 29 years, anyone could mistake her for a College goer (This girl will put all Boxtox users to shame, how can she look so young!) and of course, Raaga! Honestly, I was stunned when I saw her and actually ended up blurting, "Hey, I didn't expect you to be so pretty."😆 Lolz…Raaga just grinned unabashedly, prolly trying to make sense of what I said! Dressed in mustard Salwar Kameez, and a pierced nose, Aarthi ji looked like one of those classical old Tamil Movie heroines, except that she is such a riot when she speaks! Later in our conversation, I came to know, that appearances can be deceptive, cause our somber and dignified Pooja came out to be one with the most wry & killer sense of humor, someone who can crack a joke looking absolutely expressionless! Sujata was the demure one of the group, not just in looks but also in behaviour, but later, poor girl, woh bhi hamari rang mein rang gayi!
In the meanwhile, Aarthi had to call up Sangeeta (Our Viewbee who is also a very close buddy of Raaga and me!) and tease the hell out of her regarding our meeting! And Sangs, in a style true to her, got really bugged, which kind of only made the whole situation more funny than it was! But I guess Sangs was only playing along…..I told her that "Spiritually" she was with us here and having her share of Pizza and Ice Tea! We actually had an extra chair, plate and a glass laid out! I kept remembering Anu a lot……If she was also there, we would have surely been out of not only PH but also GK Market for good!
Btw, I have to say that PH service is pretty pathetic, considering that our order came almost an hour late! Lolz…Aarthy loudly commented that we should get our Food Free now! Ha Ha…..You should have seen the expression's the guys at PH had! Sujata was sitting facing them and could see the super-nasty looks they were throwing in our direction! Like who cares!
What did we talk about? Everything under the Sun, right from how super-sexy Mr. Walia looks in black to how we would want to see him penniless (And sitting under a Tree with a Katora!) Amidst nibbling Garlic Bread and Veggie Pizza's and constantly in hysterics over so many things, we sure made our imprint on PH! IF and we four are banned for life, no doubt about it!
Although, all the four of us were short on time, I don't think any of us wanted to leave this wonderful rendezvous! The 2-hours that we guys spent were definitely one of the highlights of my Stay-at-home-Mom Life for sure! I am still amazed at the instant rapport we four shared, and I don't remember one second of keeping quiet or not laughing!
Poo had to leave cause she had accost a friend on a groom-watching mission, Sujata has to scoot off Home, Aarthy as she mentioned had to report back to her 15th century aunt and I had a brat waiting for me at home (Got a distress call from Mom-in-law that if I didn't make it on time, the house would catch fire, thanks to Raghav!) Also, if we hadn't moved out on our own, PH would have got the Security and got us kicked out!
Before, boarding the Auto, I did a "Hail Jai Walia" with the girls, then quickly adding that I couldn't care less for him! Lolz! Don't want the three unmarried girls to get any wrong impression's of the way Married women behave! Aarthy in her very Raaga-way gave us a chocolate each, which I consumed before the Auto could even take off!
We clicked a lot of pics, most of which came out to be very funny looking, cause we couldn't control our giggling and Aarthy insisting on "Sticking" together for the Pics was also very funny…The PH Manager was giving us very suspicious kind of looks! Poo took a wonderful pic, in which we kind of look presentable, but Poo is missing in action! Aarthy got the PH guy to click a pic, but that bozo didn't know how to use a Digi-cam and all we get is a really hazy pic of the four of us! We will post a pic of us, but you guys have to assure that you won't stop posting to us, after you see how we look in real life! (Assuredly, I am going to scare you off!😆)
All in all, it was a wonderful & fantastic tryst we had…..As I said before, Friendship needs no particular reason to be formed and sometimes even a fictional character like Jai Walia can lead to four strangers meeting, bonding and becoming Friends for Life (I hope so truly!)
I really want to thank the KS Forum for giving me the platform, where I got to meet such lovely people and whether KS remains on air or not, I know that some of us will always remain friends!😃
