Placing his mobile safely in his coat pocket, Jai gave a confused smile as the girls surrounded him, before pushing him towards the staircase, all talking excitedly at once…
R: You have to be ready quick mamaji…
P: Just freshen up or you'll be late…
Rano: Di's been waiting for you for ages jiju…
J: Wait, wait!!…what's going on?!
He looked from one face to another grinning face to another, and instantly knew they had planned something…
J: Wait a minute, what's going on?!
Pia: Uffo…you're getting late!!...we've booked you and Di a table for dinner…
Rano: And no need to thank us…we know we're great!!
Jai grinned at Ranos cheeky remark and thanked God for blessing him with such smart nieces and SILs!...Pulling them all in to a big hug, Jai took the steps two at a time, before disappearing in to his room…

Coming down half an hour later, Jai was greeted by the sight of Anu, Raashi, Rano and Pia waiting impatiently for him at the bottom of the staircase…no sooner had he hit the bottom step that he was surrounded by them once more…
R: Wow mamaji…you look handsome…I don't think any of the women at the restaurant will be able to take their eyes of you…
As the girls burst in to laughter, Jai cleared his throat and tried to ignore Raashi's comment…
J: Umm…Bani…?!
P: Di will be here soon…but first, our reward…
Amused, Jai looked at the four outstretched hands in front of him and dug his hands deep in to his pocket…
J: What reward?!!
Anu: You know what we want mamaji......we've all decided to go shoppign tomorrow and we want your credit card for that!! (aah...the CC days!😉)
Suppressing a grin, Jai gave a dramatic sigh as he pulled out his wallet and slowly took out his credit card…
J: Don't you all have husbands to pester?!
R/Rano/P/A: No!!
And with that, Jai's Credit card was taken from his hand, and only the girls knew the fate in store for it…
J: Now can I have Bani?!
R: Sure you can Jai uncle…she's right behind you!!
Surprised, Jai turned round, only to find Bani standing barely a few a feet behind him, clad in a simple yet elegant sari…she had pinned her hair up with a small dainty clip which Jai took an immediate dislike to…she knew he hated to see her hair up, yet still insisted on doing so…after roaming the rest of her body with his eyes; taking in her pallu clutched tightly in her hands, the creamy skin from her waist exposed from behind the pink material, a few wisps of stray hair framing her face, and her eyes…Jai sucked his breath in and felt the world slowly fall away as he looked in to the eyes he had fallen in love with…there was a twinkle in them that didn't fail to trap his gaze, no matter how many times he looked in to them…
Bani blushed and unconsciously fiddled with the end of her pallu as she found Jai's piercing gaze on her…he looked refreshingly handsome dressed impeccably in black, and his roaming eyes had Bani's heart beating faster, allowing a rush of colour to flood her face as she found herself, like Jai, drowning deeply in to eyes she come to fallen in love with…
The girls exchanged amused glances and silently tiptoed away, leaving Jai to gently take Bani's hand in his, and slowly lead her to the car…

Sighing softly, Bani closed her eyes and gently placed her head on Jai's chest, allowing his arms to encircle her waist and his fingers to lightly caress her hair, which had somehow come loose in the events of the evening…as she felt her hair slide of her shoulder and his lips taking its place a second later, Bani smiled to herself and hugged him tighter, the soft music filtering through her ears…
A while later, the music ended and Bani reluctantly pulled away and allowed Jai to lead her towards their table, his arm securely holding on to her, causing Bani to blush as his restless fingers slowly traced light patterns on her waist…
No sooner had they sat down than Bani heard a very familiar voice behind her…
S: Bani!!

Huffing loudly, Raashi turned to lie flat on her back again, and stared at the ceiling, her eyes slowly becoming accustomed to the darkness…again she felt a pang of hunger and feeling restless, scrambled in to a sitting position…immediately her eyes fell on Ranveer beside her, sleeping peacefully as the moon peeking from behind the large curtains cast a soft ethereal glow on his face…
Feeling only slightly guilty, Raashi inched closer to him and shook his shoulder…
R: Ranveer!!…Ranveer…wake up!!
Groaning at having being disturbed, Ranveer pulled the covers over his head and buried his face deeper in to the pillow…but soon he was stripped of his comfort, and without really wanting to, was forced to look up sleepily at Raashi who looked ready to throw him of the bed if she had to…
Ran: What is it Raashi?!!
R: Ranveer…I'm hungry!!
Sighing and his mind still focused on sleep, Ranveer glanced at the clock on the bedside table…
Ran: Raashi…it's one in the morning, have something for breakfast!!
Annoyed, Raashi watched as he mumbled a barely audible 'goodnight', and went back to the comfort of his bed and blanket; falling asleep as soon as his head hit the pillow…sighing to herself, she scrambled out bed and pulled her nightgown tightly around her…there were something a woman just couldn't ignore!!

Letting the chocolate ice-cream melt slowly in her mouth, Raashi shut the freezer and took another spoonful on her way out of the kitchen…no sooner had she reached the kitchen door, than raised voices out in the hall made her stop in her tracks…hastily, she shrunk back in the shadows, surprised that all the yelling hadn't woken up the whole house…
J: Bani!!…Bani, wait…listen to me…
Coming to an abrupt stop, Bani whirled round and glared at Jai who had just caught up with her…
B: What am I meant to listen to Jai?…what are you going to say?!…God, the way you acted with Sameer tonight…it was disgusting!!
Shoving his hands in to his pocket, Jai tried his best to control his anger, which was proving increasingly difficult with Bani's behaviour…
J: You know I don't like him Bani…
Exasperated, she threw her hands up in the air and exclaimed loudly…
B: Jai…her had his girlfriend with him…his soon to be fianc!!
J: But he still had eyes only for you…
B: Jai…this is ridiculous…
She attempted to storm of to her room, but was stopped by Jai who grabbed her elbow and pulled her towards him, causing her body to crash in to his…
J: No Bani…this needs to be sorted out right now…
B: What needs to be sorted out Jai?!!…this is all just a mistake…I shouldn't have come back…Sometimes I feel I would have been so much more happier if I had accepted Sameers proposal rather than…
Bani's word came to an abrupt stop and her eyes widened as she realised what she had just been saying…everything had suddenly become quiet, the only sound coming from Bani's unsteady breathing as she looked down at her arm which Jai had just released…
J: Then why don't you leave Bani…
Her head snapped up at his words and she looked at him shocked…as her pain filled eyes looked at him questioningly, Jai turned his head to the side and spat out his next words…
J: I'm Sameer will have no problems accepting you back in his life…
Feeling a surge of anger, Bani stomped of towards her room, struggling to control the furious tears threatening to spill down her face…
Half an hour later, she emerged carrying the same black suitcase she had entered the house with a few days ago…as she reached the bottom of the staircase, her eyes fell on Jai who was standing to the far side of the hall…the sound of her shoes echoing loudly in the empty space made him turn his head slightly, but when he made no move to stop her, Bani tightened her grip on her suitcase and walked out, the sound of her shoes tapping on the floor of the hallway, fading away slowly…
It was only once the door was closed safely behind her that Jai turned around and looked forlornly at the space which had been occupied by her only seconds before…without a sound, he slowly made his way up to his study, knowing any chance of sleep tonight would be impossible…
It hadn't been more than five minutes since Jai had left, that Raashi emerged from the kitchen, a long forgotten tub of ice-cream in her hands as the large clock in the hallway chimed to two in the morning, the flawless glass reflecting her tear stained face…

The door of the lifts slid open and Bani stepped inside as if in a mechanical state…the doors slid slowly back to their position, and the lift made its slow ascent to her apartment on the 11th floor…

As she watched each number flashing a slight green, indicating the passing of each floor, Bani found herself wandering back to the thoughts that had been on the surface of her mind for the past month…
How had it all gone wrong?!…one second she had been ready spend the rest of her life drowning in those intoxicating eyes of his, and the next, they had been shamelessly arguing in the middle of the hallway…

She knew he still cared for her, or at least felt as if she was his responsibility…all her small debts and loans had been paid for, her landlord hadn't pestered her for the rent, and Bani even had a suspicion that Jai had somehow taken care of her car which was famous for breaking down at every given moment…

Neha had also sat her down and told her simply that in her opinion, no-one but Jai could care for her so much…apparently Neha had been receiving frequent phone calls from Jai enquiring about her health…when she had stumbled upon that fact, she hadn't been as annoyed as jealous…yes, Bani shamefully admitted to herself, she was jealous of Neha…here she had been yearning to hear from him for the past month, but instead he had opted for ringing her best friend…

Even Sameer had reluctantly admitted that Jai had called a week ago and apologised for his behaviour, and Bani hadn't known till last night when Priya had accidentally let it slip that Jai and Sameer seemed to be on the best of terms…

The thought of Priya made the corners of Bani's mouth twitch in to a smile…she knew Priya would keep Sameer happy…you only had to see the way they looked at each other to understand the love that they shared…
11………Ting!
The button labelled "11" flashed furiously and the sound of the doors sliding open once again, brought Bani out of her reverie, and clutching her files tighter, she stepped out of the lift and walked over to the door of her apartment…once their, she fiddled with her keys and carefully opened the lock as she mentally reminded herself to ring Neha to confirm the shopping plans they had made earlier on in the day…
There was a click, and Bani entered her apartment, the need for a nice long shower to strong to ignore…but the shower was completely pushed to the back of her mind as the sound of laughter drew her attention to the sofa where Anu, Dadi and Mausi were sitting and chatting away merrily…
On seeing Bani, Anu nudged the other two and they wished Bani a good afternoon casually, as if walking in to someone's apartment and making yourself at home was the most natural thing in the world to do…
Stunned, Bani rubbed her eyes and even pinched herself a few times to make sure, but there was no denying the fact that they were actually there…
As she tried to digest the fact, Sahil walked in with a giggling Abhay perched on his shoulders, closely followed by Pushkar who was occupied with Nisha running around him happily…
P: Hi Bani…how was work?!
Suddenly Pushkar's attention was diverted towards Nisha who pulling on his hand impatiently…in one quick movement he scooped her in to his arms and tickled her mercilessly and grinned as she laughed loudly…
A second later Rano appeared from the kitchen carrying a plate…on seeinf Bani she gave her Di a quick hug before making her way over to where Mausi, Dadi and Anu were seated…
Rano: the Pakodas are ready!!
N: Yayy!!
Screaming in delight, Nisha jumped out of her mamu's arms and on to Dadi's laps, waiting impatiently for Sahil and Pushkar to join the group so that she could start…
Laughing, Rano ruffled her hair and placed the hot plate of savouries on the table…just when she was about to head back in to the kitchen, Pia emerged from Banis balcony, talking animatedly with her mobile glued to her ears…she gave a quick wave to Bani and jumped on to the arm rest beside Mausi while handing the phone over to Sahil…
Pia: They're coming tomorrow!…Ranveer said Raashi and the baby were fine, just sleeping…
This little bit of news was enough to launch the girls in to another one of the chatting marathons, with Dadi cracking jokes every so often and Mausi sipping a tea, a small smile on her face…
Just then, Jigyasa walked in rubbing her temples…she had obviously come looking for some peace and quiet, but the sight of the whole family seated there was enough for her to groan in annoyance…
Jigs: Tony!!…bring me a cup of tea!
Tony was here to?!…Bani suddenly felt light headed and clutching on to a nearby chair for support, she took a step backwards and nearly lost her footing a she bumped in to someone…
Somehow already knowing who it was, Bani whirled around to face Jai who had his arms clasped around her waist and was looking at her face intently…her face held a look of complete surprise and she unconsciously clutched the front of his shirt as she tried to steady her breathing while her heart pounded against her chest…
Lost in each other gaze, neither realised when the rest of the family had crept away in to the spare bedroom, leaving Jai and Bani to their privacy…
His gaze travelled slowly across her face, stopping at a stray strand of hair lying across her cheek…slowly, he tucked it behind her ear, the movement of his fingers gliding softly across her skin causing Bani to break out of her trance…
Pushing Jai away slightly, she attempted to hurry away to her bedroom, but was stopped as he clasped her wrist and forced her to turn around…taking her face in to her hands, he tilted her head up until she was looking in to his eyes again…
J: Bani…I know you're still made at me…you have every right to be…
B: I'm not mad at you Jai…I could never stay mad at you for to long…
Smiling, he gently wiped away the tears that had appeared on Bani's face…
J: Does that mean you still love me…
She nodded her head, smiling to herself as Jai placed his arm around her shoulders and pulled her closer in to his body…
J: Bani…I have something for you…
Surprised, she looked up at him and waited patiently as he handed her a small velvet box…curious, Bani carefully removed the light silver ribbon it had been tied down with and opened the box as Jai placed his arms around her waist and rested his chin on her shoulder…
The lid finally came of and Bani looked at the box confused, as it was empty…
B: But Jai…there's nothing in here…
J: That's because my gift is right here…
Nuzzling her neck gently, Jai slipped a perfectly cut diamond ring on to her finger…
J: Bani…will you marry me, again?
With tears of happiness streaming down her face, Bani simply nodded and embraced Jai, ready to start her life with the man she loved, once again…
