Hey guys..........sorry for making you wait so long....but it ook me ages to write this up.........And I ahve to warn you.......it's not that good!
J: Look, I don't care what you were told, just fix a meeting with Raj nowā¦do you understand?!
Without waiting for a reply, Jai switched of his mobile and shoved it into his pocket as he stepped out the lift, mentally going through everything he needed for the meetingā¦he nodded slightly at all the employees who wished him a good afternoon and walked briskly along the corridor headed towards the conference roomā¦
J: 5 more minutesā¦
Jai dug his hands into his pockets after checking the time and was about to turn the corner when something caught his eyeā¦backtracking his steps he came to a stop in front of the large glass window of Bani's cabin and tilted his head, an amused smile tugging at the corner of his lipsā¦
Bani was dressed in a very formal black business suit, but she had discarded the jacket to reveal a cream blouse which hugged her curvesā¦she had hurriedly clipped up hair resulting in some wisps coming free and framing her face which held a look of utmost concentrationā¦her hands were buried under the files which she had splayed open across her arms and her head tilted to the side as she balanced the phone between her ear and shoulderā¦
Jai hadn't seen Bani since he had carried her carefully to her apartment and left her sleeping while cuddled up in his coat, after the accidentā¦the past few days had been spent rushing between Delhi and Mumbai as he tired his best to keep up with all his work which seemed to increase daily with his absence from the Mumbai officeā¦
But that wasn't of too much concern to himā¦once Bani would agree to come back to Mumbai, everything would be sorted outā¦
He sighed and ran his fingers through his hair as he admired every inch of her, just wanting to take her in his arms and hold her there for eternityā¦

Suddenly Bani started looking around for her pen - which she had carefully tucked behind her ear ā while awkwardly trying to balance the phone and filesā¦to busy in her search, she didn't notice Sameer who came up behind Bani and tapped her lightly on the shoulderā¦startled, she whirled around and sent the files flyingā¦
B: Oh my Godā¦the phone!!
She got down on her knees and rummaged through the mess trying to locate the phone which had fallen on the floorā¦she finally retrieved it from all the papers and started looking for the correct fileā¦
B: uhh Miss. Singhania?!....yeah, I'm still hereā¦umm, one secondā¦
She hurriedly gave the details and breathed a sigh of relief as she put the phone downā¦she finally noticed Sameer who was trying to suppress his laughterā¦
B: Sameer!!...why did you creep up on me like that?!...God!!...look at this messā¦
S: Yeahā¦but the look on your face Bā¦Priceless!!
Sameer laughed as Bani threw a file at him before pulling her closer by the arm to take of her clipā¦he watched as he hair slid down her shoulders and gently hit her on the head with her clipā¦
S: That's betterā¦
Bani pouted and whined like a childā¦
B: Sameeeeeerā¦.my clip!!

Jai tore his gaze away from Banis cabin and pulled out his mobileā¦
J: Helloā¦.yes, I'm comingā¦
He glanced one more time at Bani and Sameer before making his way to the meeting ā face set with determination and brain trying to take in everything he had just seenā¦

Jai stopped at the sound of Bani's name and retraced his steps to where a group of women were standing around Nehas desk flicking through her engagement photosā¦
A picture of Bani and Sameer caught his attentionā¦she was wearing that simple yellow sari he had seen her in on Karans engagementā¦even though it had only been for a fleeting second, he had seen the most beautiful women thereā¦
"Don't they look good togetherā¦Hey, wasn't Sameer going to propose to her?!"
Jai's head snapped up at those wordsā¦the thought that had kept him from sleeping last night was in front of him againā¦
"Awwā¦they make the perfect coupleā¦"
Jai closed his eyes trying to keep control of his temper which was threatening to erupt like a volcanoā¦he'd have to ask Bani about thisā¦

Bani pushed a strand of wet hair behind her shoulder as she rushed to the front door where the shrill ringing of her doorbell wouldn't stopā¦panting slightly; she unlocked the door and peered out to see Sameer grinning down at herā¦
S: Hey beautiful!!
B: What are you doing here?!
S: Neha told me your car was at the garage and to pick you up!
He let himself in and gave a low whistle as he saw exactly what Bani was dressed in, causing her cheeks to take on a red colourā¦
B: Sameer!!
Her wet hair tumbled down her shoulders and curled at the ends, sending droplets of water to trail their way down her neckā¦her light yellow bathrobe was pulled protectively around her and the hem just brushed her kneesā¦
Noting her flushed face, Sameer laughed out loud and pulled Bani into a warm hug, ruffling her hair like an older brother would doā¦
S: Go get changed before Neha kills me for getting you late!
Bani smiled as Sameer automatically went to his favourite place in Bani's apartment ā her kitchenā¦
Sameer was so sweetā¦he knew her so well that it was hard to think they weren't childhood friendsā¦recently he had become a little protective of her after he had found out through Neha that Jai was the ex-husband Bani had left with a broken heartā¦even on Bani and Nehas insistence that things had changed, he had remained firm on his opinion of Jaiā¦
Bani knew he was still fuming over the fact that Jai had put her life in danger after he had seen Banis cuts and bruises the morning after the accidentā¦she was just glad that Jai hadn't come in front of Sameer ā yetā¦
Sighing to herself she was about to go and get change when the doorbell rang againā¦Bani knew Sameer would be to preoccupied with the kheer in the kitchen to think of anything elseā¦smiling to herself, Bani opened the door wide, forgetting that she was clad only in her bathrobe, and froze at the sight of Jaiā¦
He surveyed her appearance, taking his time and noting her bare legs, the bathrobe, the drops of water on her neck, and her hair framing her face, which held a look of complete surpriseā¦
B: Jai, whā¦
Jai cut her off and stepped inside her apartment ā¦
J: Bani, we need to talkā¦
She could tell by his face that he was in a bad moodā¦a little concerned; Bani moved closer to him and gently put a hand on his armā¦
B: What is it Jaiā¦
J: What is Sameer to you?!
Bani was taken aback by his questionā¦something was definitely wrongā¦
B: weā¦we're co-workers Jaiā¦
J: Then what is thisā¦
She winced as something hit the side of her faceā¦looking down, she was stunned to see pictures from Nehas engagementā¦only there was no Neha and Karanā¦Instead the pictures were of her and Sameerā¦she recognised one where Sameer had circled her waist with his arms and placed his chin on her shoulderā¦
Jai grasped her arm and pulled her towards himā¦his face was twisted in fury and his eyes were ablaze with angerā¦bringing Banis face closer he hissed in her earā¦
J: Don't lie to me Baniā¦Any fool can tell you're closer than just two co-workersā¦or did you think I wouldn't noticeā¦you could carry on two flings at one time and I wouldn't notice?!
Bani tried to wriggle out of his hold in vainā¦hot tears were streaming down her face as she realised what Jai was talking aboutā¦how could he even say that?!
B: Jai stop itā¦you're hurting me!!
J: Hurtā¦
He clutched her other arm and shook her until her eyes met hisā¦they were full of fear and Jai could feel her body shaking with the tears that flew down her faceā¦but his brain refused to back away and instead of letting go, he held on tighterā¦
J: Bani you have no idea what kind of pain I'm going through right nowā¦I have people in the office talking about my wife's bloody marriageā¦
B: I'm not your wife!!
Her body was shaking worse than before, only this time with angerā¦trying to steady herself underneath Jais glare, Bani tried to push him away as she spoke in a lower, more calm voiceā¦
B: Jaiā¦there's nothing between Sameer and meā¦
As if on cue, Sameer emerged from the kitchen, an empty bowl in his handā¦
S: Hey B, do you have any moreā¦
His words died away as Bani's tear stained face caught his eyeā¦he then noticed Jai's hand firmly holding on to Bani and immediately his body tensedā¦
Bani closed her eyes in despair as she felt Jais grip tightened on her arm and noted anger flicker on Sameers faceā¦
S: What are you doing hereā¦
J: I should be the one asking you thatā¦but now that your here, you can leave as wellā¦I have something important to discuss with Baniā¦
S: I won'tā¦
B: Sameer pleaseā¦justā¦goā¦
For a second it looked as if he would argueā¦but a second later, Sameer grabbed his jacket, which he had discarded earlier and left Bani's apartmentā¦
Jai was the first one to break the silence, which had fallen over the apartment after Sameer had slammed the door shut behind himā¦
J: Your boyfriend doesn't seem to be to happyā¦
B: Jai pleaseā¦you've got it wrongā¦
J: I've got it wrong?!ā¦you're here in your bathrobe and Sameer's in your kitchen!!ā¦ What am I supposed to think?!
Finally something snapped inside Bani and she felt her anger rising againā¦
B: So what?!ā¦if me and Sameer are going out, how does it concern you?!ā¦If you cared about me enough to actually be hurt, you wouldn't be ignoring me for your businessā¦If me and Sameer are in love, we will marry and there's nothing you can do about it Mr. Waliaā¦
J: Oh but I can Miss. Dixitā¦
And before Bani could protest, Jai pulled her closer and roughly sealed her lips with hisā¦startled, Bani tried to break away but he pulled her closer deepening the kiss until Bani felt herself responding to his touchā¦
Their anger had died down and was replaced with a deep fervour that left Bani's mind reelingā¦she clutched his shirt and breathed heavily as he planted hungry kisses down the column of her neck across to her shoulder which was now bareā¦he nuzzled her neck softly, following the trail of a water drop as it disappeared underneath her robeā¦
Banis body felt as if it was on fireā¦the touch of his lips on her bare skin after so long left her exhilaratedā¦she tilted her head back as Jai made his way back up to her neck and paused at her lipsā¦ his breathing was ragged like hers and she clamped her eyes shut as his warm breath fanned her face and his fingers seemed to sear her body through the bathrobeā¦
Not being able to wait any longer, Bani slipped her fingers through his jet black hair and pulled him closer with a soft moanā¦a second later she felt his lips brushing against hersā¦teasing and coaxing at the same time until she parted her lips, allowing him to savour her lips once more as her hands found their way to his broad chestā¦
Lost in their heat of passion, neither of them paid any attention to Bani's robe, which fell at her feet with a soft 'thud'...
