PART 3

Jai Dixit was now looking at the floor and fiddling with a button on the collar of his school shirt.

Bani could felt a dull ache in her heart.

"My poor baby."She thought.

She then let out a sharp sigh and sat down on her plush sofa and tapped the side of her lap,Jai immediatley sat down in her lap and patiently watched his mother's face.Bani stroked her son's familiar jet black hair and said,

"I'm dissapointed bacha,I didn't expect this from you my son,tum nai usko thaapaar maar nai ki kya zaaroorat thi,mein nai tumko yeh nai sikhaya hai."

Bani stroked the side of her son's face lovingly and holding the floodgate's back of her own raw emotion's continued hesitantly,

"I know you miss not having a papa but mein bhi usko miss karti hoon,yeh tummare papa aur meri majboori hai ke hum dono saath nai rehtai,maagaar yeh maat sochna ke tummare papa tumse pyaar nai kartai"

Bani stopped stoking her son's face and wondered if Jai was listening at all for he was now fiddling with his school hat that he was holding in her lap.

Realizing his mother had stopped talking,Jai sprang up from his mother's lap and said,

"Thank god lecture katum tu ho gaya,can i go and play video game's now."

Frustrated Bani refused and said that it was his punishment,no video game's for a week.

Jai smilied cheekly and looked at his mother in a sneaky way.

"I can alway's go to Rohan's house and play video game's there,Rohan's mummy never say's no to me."

Bani in mock horror had pretended to chase him around the room with her shoe in her hand,they eventually collopsed on to the sofa in a fit of giggle's,he cuddled up to his mamma and said,

"Sorry mamma,i won't do it again"

Bani blinked her eye's open and realized she had not heard a word of what Jai's principal was saying, she asked the principal to repeat what she had just said.

"I know, it was a shock for me too when i heard, i'm holding the letter now from the board,mein bus yeh kehna chatti hu,that out of all the school's in Dubai,Jai has won the award in the best essay writing competiton this year, you must be so proud Miss Dixit,the prize giving ceremony is in the school auditorium in two day's, you must be there Miss Dixit."

Bani didn't know weather to laugh or cry,after thanking Mrs Hussien for the good new's,Bani put the phone down and broke in to a huge smile.She ran her slender finger's through her dark luxurious hair as if to get rid of all the negative thing's she had thought had happened to her jigaar ka thukaara.She stood up and then sat down again not knowing what to do with her self,she was full of nervous energy,she paced around her ultra modern yet very feminine air conditioned office,she could hear the the whisper's outside her cabin through her open door,

"What's wrong with Bani madam."

"Madam teek tu hai."

Bani could feel a tide of emotion's rise up in her body and thought about all the awful thing's she had thought might of happened to Jai and let out a huge sigh of relief,Bani chukled softly to herself,she wanted to announce to her whole office,her whole neighbourhood and e-mail her sister's,that Jai had proved to her at seven year's old that he was his father's son,she was so proud of him,then lastly with a crash that bought her euphoric mood tumbling down,Mr Walia, her Mr Walia to know.

Bani felt a surge of longing creep over her mood, her temperture increased giving her face a warm glow and she felt a electricity within her finger's,she hadn't remembered Mr Walia for some time now,her little Jai had kept her far more busy than she ever thought possible.

Bani slumped down back into her chair and looked at her computer screen,her wallpaper was the only picture she had managed to sneak out of Walia mansion as she left all those seven year's ago, she still remembered that night after Mr Walia had gone to sleep on the day their divorce had been finalized she had simply transferred all the property,business,money back to Mr Walia and left the file on his desk for him to discover in the morning, thank god Pushkar had managed to sneak her out in time,she had simply climbed down the drain pipe's from her bedroom window(cafefully!)and picked up her luggage that she had secretly put in the bushes also beneath her bedroom window a few hour's earlier.
Pulling herself out of her bitter memories,Bani stared at the picture on her screen it was of Anu,Rano and Rasshi's wedding, all the Walia, Dixit and Chopra family in one magnificent frame.Bani lovingly stroked the computer screen and wiped her tear's on the back of her hand.

TAP TAP TAP

Bani looked up and her preety face turned red with embarrassment,for standing their at the door of her office was Rahul Malhotra her boss and confidant.
