Bani: Papa? Kya hua Papa ko?

Rano: Di, we can't find him!

Bani: what time is it?

Pia: Di, where have you been? It's almost six in the morning!!! And you're just now returning from somewhere?

Bani: Pia, we have to find Papa. We can talk about me later. Have you both checked the entire house?

Rano: yes, di…we can't find him….(she started sniffling)

Bani: Rano, it's okay. We'll find him….why were you looking for him anyway? It's only 6. He usually wakes up later!

Rano: Papa has an interview today and he wanted to make breakfast for us with his own hands today and he told me to wake him up at 5:45…(now she started crying)

Bani: ohh….ok…you go check in the front…I'll go check in the backyard okay?

Just as the three sisters were going to disperse, they heard the back door open. They looked at each other frightened. Just then they heard their Papa's voice….

Papa: Bani, uth jao beta!

The three girls ran to him and all started talking at once, "where were you?...i was so scared…how can you just leave like that?"

Papa: slow down…slow down. See these flowers?

For the first time, they noticed the beautiful flowers in his hand.

Papa: I sneaked to the garden so I can pick them without them knowing. 😆

Bani grinned: Papa…you stole their flowers!!!

Papa: it's okay…they steal ours all the time…

Pia: good thing, Papa, you're back. Did you know, Bani di just….

She was silenced by Bani's hand.

Bani: Pia just wanted to tell you what a good sister I am, right Pia? 😆

Pia: mmmmmm (struggling to speak against Bani's hand) 😆

Rano: yeah…Pia's been praising Bani di all night long.

Bani and Rano looked at each other and grinned.

Classes have just ended and Pia was pushing and shoving through the crowd to get to Bani.

Pia: Di, di, di, you won't BELIEVE what happened today!

Bani distracted: what?

She was looking around her for Jai. She hasn't seen him this entire day.

Pia: Di, I met this really cute guy. His name's Pushkar. (poor Pushy...Pia's never gonna leave him alone 😆 😆 )

Bani frowned and said: Pia, you should really start doing your homework on your own now. You're in college. 😆

Pia: Di, that's soooo mean. I AM doing my homework on my own now. Oh look, that's him!

Pia pointed at a cute guy standing in between a crowd.

Bani: seems to be popular. Is that why you are so happy?

Pia: Di, can you believe all the invitations to parties I can get now? He doesn't care that I'm only a 1st year student. I'm going to go talk to him. You want to come?

Bani: No. I'll just wait here. You go talk to him!

Pia left and Bani began looking in the crowds to find Jai, without being too obvious of course. We can't have him knowing that Bani's looking for him. 😆

Just then someone put a single red rose in front of her face. She looked behind her to find Jai.

Jai with a grin on his face: Looking for me?

Bani: Of course not! I was waiting for Pia!

Jai: I just saw you talking to her…so you're definitely not looking for her.

Bani narrowed her eyes and with a saucy smile said: Were you spying on me?

He just winked at her.

Bani looked at the rose in his hand and said: Is that for me?

Jai: I don't know. Do you want it?

Bani: I don't know. Do you want to give it to me?

Jai: let's trade…

Bani: huh?

Jai looked into her eyes: I give you the rose and you give me….. 😳

Bani breathless: I give you….? 😳

Just as Jai was about to say something, his friend Rohit came along. Bani looked at him and frowned disappointedly. 😆

Rohit: Hey, Jai! Are you coming?

Jai: where?

Rohit: to Rahul's party, dude! It's supposed to be the hit of the season! (this Rohit is really weird like the frog-faced Rohit...hit of the season? 😆 😆 😆 )

Jai looked at Bani: okay…here's the deal…I give you the rose…and you come to the party.

Bani gave him a look that said, "Do I look like an idiot to you?" 😆 😆

Bani: I don't want the stupid rose…I'm not coming!

Jai just shrugged and said, "okay."

He began walking away with Rohit.

Bani smacked her lips together so she won't call his name. She tried…she really did…but what can she do? She really wanted the rose. 😆

Bani: Jai!

Jai stopped in his tracks, grinned to himself, and turned around with an innocent face. 😆

Jai: yes, Bani?

She put her palm out.

He held the rose up and said, "Will you come, then?"

Bani glared at him and nodded. He grinned, put the flower on her palm, and walked away.

Bani watched him walk away and thought of a hundred ways to murder him. 😆 But she couldn't think of one way she could survive without him. 😳 She sighed as she turned around to find Pia. Now she has to find a way to keep Rahul from drooling after her. 😆


*Rahul's the guy who has a crush on Bani...he's not very important!

Rano and Pia's room –

Pia: tu tu tu tu tu tara…todo na dil hamara…tu tu tu tu tu tara…todo na dil hamara 😆

Rano: Oh my God, Pia, shut up!!!! I'm trying to study!

Pia ignores Rano. She looks at herself in the mirror and is satisfied with the reflection.

Pia: Pia, you're the best! You're the best! You're the best! Oh yeah…I am the best! 😆 😆

Rano looks at her with a disgusted face: you know, you're very vain!

Pia: oh shut up Rano! No need to be jealous.

Rano: I'm not jealous!!!

Pia: you know what Rano…if you take off those glasses, shave off that mustache and get a new face, you would be pretty too! 😆 😆 (no offense to rano...she really is pretty..pia was just making fun 😃 )

Rano gasped, her face filled with shock!!

Rano: Diiiiiiiiiiiiiiii…did you hear what Pia said to me?!?!? Pia, I'm going to kill you.

With that, Rano throws her book down and starts running after Pia.

Pia: Diiiii, Rano's trying to kill me….

Pia and Rano run into Bani's room and skid to a stop.

Bani was sitting in front of her dresser, putting on a pair of new bangles.

Rano: Di, you look so pretty!

Bani smiled: Thanks Rano.

Pia: Di, you do look pretty…but you do know that we're going to a party right? Not to a puja! 😆

Bani looked at herself. She was wearing a yellow salwar kameez with matching earrings and golden bangles.

Bani looked at Pia questioningly: Not exactly party wear?

Pia shook her head: not exactly!

Bani shrugged: I don't care. Let's go!

Just then they heard a car honking outside and knew it was Jai come to pick them up.

Pia and Bani said goodbyes to Rano and Papa and went outside.

Jai: Hi Bani. Hi Pia!

They get in the car and head off for the party.

At the party –

Pia and Bani get down from the car while Jai goes to find a parking space.

Pia looks at Bani and grins: We're single. So let's mingle. 😕 😆

Bani: Pia, do whatever you want to do, but BE CAREFUL!

Pia: ok, di! I'm a big girl. I can take care of myself. Ooh there's Pushkar!

Pia left Bani standing alone as she went off to talk to Pushkar. Bani looked at the people around her, scantily dressed and dancing outrageously. She didn't mind the dancing but the dressing. Oh God! She thought Pia dressed badly, but these girls, they barely dressed! As she continued looking for people she knew, her eyes landed on Rahul. Uh oh. Don't let him see me. Don't let him see me! 😆 He saw and smiled.

Rahul: HI BANI!!!!

Bani's eyes widened and she turned back around to leave and ran straight into Jai.

Jai: Arre, Bani, kaha ja rahe ho tum?

Bani looked relieved at finding Jai: Jai, Rahul's here!

Jai looked amused: You know, Bani, it is his party! 😲

Bani looked scared: You can have it back!

Jai confused: what?

Bani: the rose…I don't want to stay here.

Jai: I don't want the rose!

Bani: Jai, please! I can't stand Rahul!

Jai: Fine! Let's get away from here.

They both got in Jai's car. Bani began babbling…

Bani: thanks Jai…rahul…I can't stand him…it's like I break out in hives when I see him… 😆

Jai: Um..Bani…

Bani: no really thanks Jai..let's get away from here…I don't know what I was thinking…omg

Jai: Um..Bani…

Bani: no no…I can't go..

Jai screamed: BANI!

Bani surprised: what Jai?

Jai: you forgot Pia.

Bani: oh. 😲

Jai: yup

Saying that, Jai backed out of the parking lot and headed on to the road.

Bani: um Jai, didn't we just decide that we forgot Pia?

Jai: yea…

Bani: so aren't we going to get her?

Jai looked at Bani and said so very casually: no 😆

Bani: WHAT?!?!

Jai: omg! Your sister talks way too much! Didn't anyone ever tell her to shut up? 😆

Bani: YOU shut up!

Jai grinned and winked at her.

Jai: serves her right for talking too much.

Bani: so we're just going to leave her there?

Jai: maybe… 😆

Bani: what if someone takes advantage her?

Jai: Bani, whoever tries to take advantage of her will run in the other direction when she opens her mouth. 😆

Bani tried mock indignity but failed…she started laughing.

Jai looked at her and grinned: See, you're not all that nice as you pretend to be! 😳

Bani smacked him on the shoulder: I'll have you know, I'm a very nice girl! But seriously Jai, we can't leave her there.

Jai: we won't! we'll come back for her!

Bani: ohh…so where are we going?

Jai: where do you want to go?

Bani: to Venice! Will you take me there?

Jai: um some other time…for now, how about some place in Mumbai?

Bani grinned at him: Let's go get pani puri!

Jai: okay...

Bani: Jai, this is so much fun...let's make a pact!

Jai: what pact?

Bani: a pact that we would always do this...run away on some whim and eat pani puris!

Jai: oooooooookay...

Bani disappointed: what? you don't think its fun?

Jai: it's okay...

Bani: fine! tell me, whats fun?

Jai: beach...surfing!

Bani: surfing? 😲

Jai: yeah...

Bani: so you think i'm boring cuz i don't surf?

Jai: i don't think you're boring...

Bani: let's go surfing...

Jai: umm...Bani...

Bani: we'll pick Pia up, drop her off at home, and go surfing!

Jai: right!

Bani: i'm serious! i'm very very serious! let's do it!


That night, Bani decided she and Jai would go surfing! and there was nothing Jai could do to change her mind!
