Thanks Sim for pointing to KZK, here I was thinking that its so unique to have a leading lady address her hubby as Mr...... but no, its the same old "steal from my old show" formula

To share a bitter truth girls, if u were to watch The Great Indian Laughter Challenge.... you would NEVER want to watch ANY soap EVER again!!!

My six months in India the only show I watched when I got a chance was this one and Nach baliye.......

Plus KSKBT has this deathly grip on women, let the story leap 10 generations some women wud still watch it 😕

The love story track has only so much appeal....

I tried brainwashing some married types here 😉 (RK if u are reading, plz note the extent we go to to cult-ize thsi whole thing) they were like "What is the BIG deal?" Who cares for M&Bs. M&Bs hotey kya hain?
Some women were from the Hindi belt some were from the Tamil belt, nvr hrd of M&B's never read them while growing up..............

So, if the show became a porridge of horror, family, bahu torture, miscarriage melodrama........ accept it as THAT IS WHAT PEOPLE WANT

Well Adi....to that all I have to say is don't give up on the RK campaign! We've got to get more allies against Kekta and her formula! 😛

I see your point Aditee. Thats with anything na? For example there are certain American shows that only get aired in repeats & at certain times, in certain regions. No market elsewhere. KS may be demographically challenged in the long run.. but i do think, that as with Hindi films. (which are as commercial as it gets), consumers are more intelligent, and looking for a bit more. And to that end, we've seen KS, Saath Phere type shows bring in more TRPs. It gets old seeing Saas Bahu Saazishes. The hystrionics are overkill.

Sensibilities aside, I think that KS does have the potential to run a good course. Provided the Creatives keep to form and really understand that they should deliver a different product. It doesen't have to veer away from cultural values etc... but it can be sophisticated. I think even the KS of the past 6 months had elements of Saazishes.... Jigs, Adiyta, Maasi.. Roshni.. all of it. And yet, it was a bit more. It can work.

I guess this is more a statement than an argument as its getting longwinded... but I think to each his own na? If they aren't M&B'ers.. the'yre missing out on a whole other world. Besides.. you found all us likeminded folks!

It's all a trend Adi....how long will people watch reality shows...they'll have to come back to the ghissa pitta formula evenetually.....KS gaining slow popularity is a proof of that except that Kekta threw it into a whilpool even before it had completely established itself....isi ka toh rona hai! 😕

Adi you must be out to turn the married women society a RK buff...this effect must have been caused by that article yesterday..but your right most educated married women in India have a job and don't make it on time to watch the show, or as you said are cooking..fulfilling their duites as working wives and house wives..and those who are unpard in India and are housewives would not waste their time drooling over JW..for them it's all rubbish and their pati is god, every other man is bhai or beta so such thoughts about RK being sexy never cross their minds

I have aunts and bhabhis in their 30's in punjab who ofcorse have never heard of M&B let alone even pronounce the name..they watch these shows but once the show is over their thoughts about the show or RK are over and they go on to tend the kids and houses..and never discuss such topics about the show at all..they just pop up infront of the tv during showtime...and after that they are oblivious to the show or the characters

aditee what can i say....i am speechless. It was fantastic. I think the interaction between them was so realistic and cute and romactic. JW was fantastic all controlling, humble, apologetic, loving and sexy...does not get any better. Just what the doctor ordered after today's episode. I could not make myself watch the whole thing. PD is sucking big time these days. The whole sonograpgy scene so did not touch me. They should so stop comparing her to tulsi. I was watching a video of kyunki (don't ask me why I was bored) that lady can speak with her eyes like no one's business. I wish they would put smriti and rk together. the action quotiont would be through the roof.

Thank you. I have stooped watching the vid files. I am so caught up in writing my FF and living my sorry life there is NO room what so ever in it for PD's sucky acting.

I wud have done a mental rewind to compare with my reaction on seeing the first ultrasound image, and cud have broken my TV........ DH wud have requested the doctor for my dimaag ka ultrasound😡

Ok as far the show being redeemable I think it is....there's so much post-C that can be shown as we've already witnessed from Adi's FF! 😳 But it's up to Kekta if she believes that a married couple can in fact live harmoniously after C and finding out that they're pregnant! 😛It's a matter of coming out of the formula and realising that there's more to a soap than just troubles and woes! But I suppose that's the way we're conditioned to think (what with Bollywood movies and all of tellydom!)😕
I don't think it's less of a show since they C but the fact that the show has become more of a circus with unnecessary issues brought in makes it less of a show. It's not the loss of chemistry or the romance in the relationship that's affecting the show...it's the loss of logic! 😕 I mean what with all the bombing, shooting, running away the show's losing out on sanity! 😕 At one point as different as the situations might be from real life we were still able to relate to the characters but now within all of this "excitement" the characters have lost credibility which is what bothers me more than anything else! I still think Kekta can redeem the show before damage is done but it's up to her and how she breaks free from her conventional thinking! Since I don't have much confidence in that I'm gonna have to say that we might be headed for a downfall!

Glad you reminded us of all the post C stuff that we drooled over. Hell, if life were all about the build-up.. then whats the point in achieving anything huh? If its a journey thats the point.. not the destination.. then I guess pre-post, during.. all can be interesting! The burden of intelligent decision making lies with the Creatives!
