PART 25:

Bani awoke feeling disorientated....her head felt heavy with fatigue....pain was throbbing at the temples....what was happening to her??? why was it happening?....where was she?...where was Jai?....

She couldn't feel the heat that usually penetrated from him.....fear was gripping her....why was she here alone?....she tried to raise her head....but the pain just increased followed by a wave of nausea......Oh god....what is wrong with me??... she thought....

the bright lights in the room were causing her eyes to blink and water...increasing her despair further.....

panic began to take root deep within her.....what's happening?....why can i not get up??....where is mr walia??....pia?....rano?.....

......

Jai couldn't believe what he had heard.....he was going to a father??....bani....pregnant?......

tears of joy sprang from his eyes......his heart ocerwhelmed with such happiness of which he had never experienced before....

God had granted him the biggest gift in all eternity.....

he had almost given up hope......never having received any happiness in his life......his life having consisted of only hurt, sadness, lonliness.....pain.....but now....now he had happiness....he had love.....he had a sense of family...he had HIS OWN family.....someone to think of HIM....all because of Bani.....Bani...

Pain knifed through him......it was fear....what would happen when bani found out the truth???....would she leave him????

no....no that couldn't happen....she wouldn't leave him.....couldn't leave him......the little miracle that had taken route inside Bani's womb would not allow it....he/she would bring them closer.....not apart....NEVER apart...

They were united......

but he hasn't time to worry about that now.....now he had to go see Bani....to thank her.....to be with her.....to see her.....

He walked briskly....almost running...down the corridor towards the private room in which Bani was residing....

Bani fell further and further into the abyss of her despair....what was happeinig to her??....why could she not get up?......

the panic that had taken root earlier began to grow........

then she sensed him....he was here....he was with her.....

immediately she began to feel relaxed....safe.....protected.....

"Mr Walia...?" she asked weakly

"Haan....haan Bani....main yehi hoon....tumare paas...."

He walked closer to her....placed his hand on top of hers to reassure her....he brought his face closer to hers and kissed her softly on her forehead....

she looked up at him....afraid to lift her head again....afraid of the nausea that threatened.......

"Thank you bani...." he whispered to her....

Bsni looked deep into Jai's eyes quizzically.....why was he thanking her??

"Aaj tumne mujhe....zindagi ki sabse bahri khush kahbri....tum pregnant ho bani...."

Bani blinked up at him....confusion marring her face.....pregnant??......was that what was causing this???

elation filled her....she was pregnant!! she was going to have Jai's child....a symbol of their love.....

she looked deep into Jai's hoping that this wasn't her mind imagining this....that it was the truth....

She saw the truth......she was pregnant.....she saw the tenderness in Jai's eyes....his happiness...that she was sure mirrored her own....his love....his....fear??....

why was he afraid?....what was the cause of this fear?....

concern and fear snaked through her....was something wrong with the baby??....was that the cause of all this sickness??

she had to get up.....she had to know....

she tried to lift her head again.....the nausea coming....she tried to fight it...but....it was too strong....

Jai held while she vomited into a bucket that appeared miracously in front of her......

she slumped against Jai when she had finished....feeling suddenly weak and tired....

tears flew from her eyes....she turned into Jai's shoulder and held him tight....

"Bani?...Bani?....kya hua?"

"Yeh .....yeh sab mr walia....humara bacha....?...oose kuch...?"

He saw fear in her eyes....vulnerability.....

he pulled her tighter into him...."No bani....this is just due to the stress you have been under...and also your blood pressure has been low......its not....not ...nothing wrong with..."

they held each other for a while....each exhillarated at the news they had received.....but each fearful of the unspoken truth that lay amonst them....
