PART 5

A: Jai…. Jai neeche…. Vo neeche Police……

J: WHAT?!!!

They both run downstairs to find 3 policemen waiting.

DCP: Hello Mr Walia. Main DCP Yadav.

J: Kya hua inspector, aap yaha??

DCP: Sorry Mr Walia, lekin baat hi kuch aisi hai…….

Jigs, Ranveer, Roshni and Dadi come rushing down the stairs and on seeing the police Jigs is shocked out of her wits.

Jigs: DCP sahab aap yaha? Hua kya hai?

DCP: Mr Walia, aapki biwi hai yaha?

Jai's face drops as he is reminded of that which he wants to block out.

J: Er….. nahi, vo….. vo…….

Dadi: Jai yeh tum kya keh rahe ho!!! Bani kahan gayi itni subah subah.

Jigs and Ranveer look at each other uncomfortably, saying nothing. Jai replies, his heart broken,

J: Dadi, vo…. Vo kal raat hi…. Massi chali gayi thi iss liye…… vo bhi …..

Dadi: KYA???!!!! Jai yeh tum kya keh rahe ho? Aur tum mujhe ye ab bata rahe ho?! Kaha gayi meri Bani, tumne usse roka kyu nahi??!!

Roshni looks ecstatic, thinking to herself that finally she can make a play for her ex-boyfriend again. "Chalo, balaa tali!!" she thinks, flicking her hair to one side.

DCP: Mr Walia, hum isi liye aaye he yahi. Unfortunately, ek buri khabar hai……..

Jai looks up, his face paling, thinking the worst.

DCP: Aaj subah hame Juhu beach pe ek laash milli hain. Laash se humne ek purse baraamat ki hai, jisse hame aapka naam aur pata mila. Aur iski saath ye kangan bhi…

He holds up 2 kangne with red rubies in them. Jai, shaking, holds his hand out for them and recognises them instantly. He remembers "ye mere liye Mr Walia?", "nahi Bani, maine bangles pehenne shuru kardiye hai…"

He drops them in shock and his world shatters around him. He can see Adi, DCP, Dadi all calling his name, but he hears nothing – only an echo in his head, "Aaj subah hame Juhu beach pe ek laash milli hain."

oh.. why did u stop... i hope the laash.. was not Bani's
