Jai Walia - Saint and Satan - Q & A!

You wonder why Jai has such a huge fan following, no not just because he is "One Hot Guy" as Khoo so delightfully and cutely described😳, well that is one big factor, but I think his biggest appeal lies in the fact that he is such an engimatic character....he is almost next to impossible to predict....a complete mystery yet open like a book to read!

My God, today Jai actually gave me the shivers...he was pure evil today...there is really no other word to describe him! And I think partly the credit goes to Ram for putting so much of effort into humanizing or rather demonizing Jai Walia and for the writers who have created this multi-hued character, who is a far cry from most of the male protogonists shown in other shows!

I would have thought that Jai was depressed and hurt that Bani has let him down like this, but no, he was depressed and hurt but more than that he was muderously angry and full of hatred for Bani...the way he brings Bani close to him and whispers evily into her ears that even he has certain rights over her which he has not yet exercised but since she gave these rights to someone else, he wonders what is stopping him from going ahead.....this statement of his not only brought shivers in Bani's heart but even the viewers....it was bone chilling!😲 The overall effect of Jai towering over Bani and holding her extremely close to him was Brrr....very, very scary!

Jai was dripping with saracasm and loathing for Bani and yet he could not ward off the feeling of complete jealousy that enveloped him. The only moment where he looked as hurt and broken as Bani was when Jigyasa pulled her by her arm to throw her out of the house and Bani looked at Jai for support, he simply couldn't see the hurt in her eyes and yet he could not bear her presence.

And only yesterday, we saw a different Jai...one who is warm, loving, caring and sensitive & understanding....the proverbial "Ideal Man" whom any woman would give her left arm and leg to have in her life!

What I find discomforting about Jai is that he always reacts to situations and incidents rather than to people and that is exactly what Bani tells him today...Jai has till date never seen Bani as an individual, but has only reacted to her by virtue of her behaviour towards him; If Bani gets Pia and Pushkar married in his house, he breathes fire on her and then if she goes all out to make Massi happy, Jai is affectionate and kind towards her.....and this sort of behaviour is only kept for Bani and no one else...I wonder why?😕

Sometimes, the portrayal of Jai Walia really confuses me.....he is so indescribable....just like air, you can feel it, smell it, breath it, even touch it....but cannot see it.....the same quality of elusiveness lies with Jai also and that is why he is so attractive!

So here are my questions for you;

What is your overall assessment of Jai Walia's character? Please remember that you have to answer keeping in mind only Jai as a person and not his relations or his past.

Jai is a very confused person at the moment. He is torn between his hatred for Bani and his new feelings for her. He doesn't know how to react to her, with her etc. Just when he starts to trust her, something happens to cause him to question his trust/feelings for Bani.

Bani tells Jai that he has always found both good and bad in her and hence she can never decipher what his behaviour toward her will be; Is Bani indicating that they can never have a normal relationship because Jai has till date always been unstable in his attitude towards Bani whereas she has always been consistent?

I believe she is indicating that there relationship is not normal in any sense of the word. They have had very little history as to how they react to each other and thus don't have a foundation for expected behaviors of each other's reactions.

I belive Jai is capable of giving Bani a secure and happy marriage. This will just take time; as with any other relationship they are currently going through ups and downs because they are unsure about what they feel for each other. Once they both acknowledge (at least to their own selves) their feelings, that will help them in making their relationship secure.

He is at the moment shattered b/c his trust has been broken again. He is also at some level jealous that Bani had a relationship with someone else thus making him completely vulnerable at the time. As the saying goes, only the person we love completely has the ability to make us vulnerable.

I think many on this forum have described Jai well, as a strong, forceful, educated man who sometimes has lofty ideals of good and bad, and has most recently with his experiences of love, been challenged by these ideals. Overall though, he is a caring and loving person who has so much anger and fear in him, that kindness and genuine affection only peak through once in a while. Like in yesterdays episode.. when he let his guard down.

I think that Bani is perhaps saying that Jai has never really tried to see who she is.. rather he has judged her circumstancially, seeing her in good and bad situations. And yes, she has been consistent. He hasn't been.

I do think that Bani and Jai can have a completely secure relationship, if they air their secrets out to each other. Jai has to share about the Raaz and Bani has to reveal the truth of the pregnancy and finally, they have to share their feelings about the other.. and have the courage to do so. I think for both, fear rules most of their actions. Fear of rejection, fear of feeling too much. They are caught up in a web of their own making.

Goodness and warmth. I think its at the core of who he is. Circumstance, the pettiness of those around him, and his insecurities with himself cause him to doubt his own sense of right and wrong, and go off the deep end.

I would start off with complete surprise. I think despite the fact that Bani has been on his list of people to hate, and torture.. he has always held her up on pedestal. And moreso since Maasi came, and her actions have reinforced what she has always said she waslike-- caring etc. So, when he found out about her pregnancy, he was stunned. Its as though he doubts everything he knew about her. And I would say that jealousy is part of it too.

Hey MT....here r the ans...im the first one..!!!

1) Jai Walia as a character shown is a complete man...u have everything in his life he wished for....if he is bad then on the other hand he is soft-hearted....he is the character who can give anything to anyone..but other hand...can ruin any1 very easily....a complete package of love, emotions, turst n faith.

2)I think bani didn't meant that they can never have a normal relations i guess she might indicates that he never understand bani....wat he feels is wat he say...he never got time to understand her.

3)I think Jai is the only who can keep bani happy n secure...not only bani...any girl in his life...is secure...n will be happy.

4)As i said earlier....that if he can be bad then he can be good at the same time...Jai walia's character is good, bad, evil, or soft-hearted...in short he's a complete package.

5)He is hurt....because he has started falling for bani...n then suddenly a big shock...he wont be able to tolerate...he is not angry...he is just hurt.

6)Watever Jai did was right n wrong....he was hurt so he got a right to shout on her....but the way he hold bani i think was quiet obsessive...he was bevaing like an obsessed lover...jis ko pyar mein dhoka mila hai....but we have to wait till the next epi.

Jai reacts to every situation with full emotions and what you see is what you get with him.. very passonate human I would say... a lovable human .😉

Jai's attitude towards Bani has always been the result of provokation in the past.. only recently he started seeing Bani as a person and became fond of her until she ruined everything by deceiving him..(if she is actualy pregnant with someone else's child).. I think Bani is hoping that Jai will come to respect her again..

Jai is most predictable character on KS and very simple at that.. As he demonstrated in dori scene twice and picking pink saree for Bani, he can make her feel special in every little way as well as being her pillar of strength for life...

Definitely the goodness of his heart.. he is like a coconut, tough on the outside and sweet tender on the inside. Whatever he is good or bad he is always passionate.

Dejection followed by hurt... hatred and anger are consequential reactions.. Jai was just starting to allow himself to like Bani and let nature take its course and everything came to a screaching halt.😡

As much as she loves the man she is married to it is a surprise to her that Jai could actualy think of doing the horrible act...I don't think she bargained for Jai's reaction to be so horrid and has realized what a hugh mistake she has made by hurting him either by not telling the truth (if not pregnant) or by actualy being pregnant with someone else's child..unless Cuddles has a memory lapse and does not remember he actualy had one night stand with her in drunken state and she does not want to reveal it to him..

I love Mr. Cuddly no matter how he is 😃. To me he is the most human character on TV specially in an Ekta show. He appears or rather wants to be tough on the outside but is warm,caring and loving human on the inside. He is also very lonely and insecure as a child when it comes to love.

Jai has always reacted to Bani and till date hasn't considered any relationship with her. Just like a child would throw a tantrum if his friends breaks his toys or would be extremely happy if he receives a toy from them, Jai reacts similar to it. If Bani goes against him(ex: Pia-Pushkar marriage,money issue) he would be mean to her, on the other hand watching her take care of him and Mausi, he becomes affectionate and caring towards her. That's what Bani was trying to hint.

Yes definately. Jai and Bani can have a very secure and happy marriage provided there is open communication of love and trust between them. Till they accept the feelings for each other and admit and confess to each other, there relationship will always go through turbulance. Once the turbulance is over, they will have a smooth ride. 😉

To me he is pretty much a balanced person with both of these emotions. He is an impulsive person when it comes to relationships. Not sure how he is when it comes to business. But when it comes to his relationship with his family he is very impulsive. Hence he keeps blowing hot and cold depending upon the circumstances.

I think he is more hurt by what Bani did to him. When he was coming to trust her and care for her openly, she goes and breaks his heart. So according to me hurt takes the highest precendence followed by anger,dejection and jealousy. I don't think he can be indifferent to Bani or anything related to her.

Being an Ekta serial I am pretty sure Jai will force himself on Bani. Moreover I think that is a natural reaction from any man who comes to know his wife has been cheating on him. My main problem with this whole twist is that why the heck Bani has to be a silent lamb. Can't she open her mouth and tell him the truth if she is really innocent. So tomorrow if Jai uses force I will not be able to sympathise with Bani at all. She is inviting this trouble and heartbreak all due to her own mistakes.

I think you've described Jai quite well - he reacts to situations, not to people. I think that has somehting to s\do with something that happened in the past - because he has this general air of disillusionment, not just becasue of the Pia thing. This episode really sent the shivers down my spine as well... Can Jai give Bani a secure marriage? Definitely. Because she knows how passionate he is about things that affect him on a mental level - like betrayal, or love and so on... It's really sad that the pregnancy thing came up now because I think he was starting to trust her and feel for her definitely now... I remember something you'd written in yesterday's update about how he came and asked her - trusted her enough to ask her, not trusting the report - that's proof that he was actually starting to care about her... the physical threats were something I actually expected - it's a very Ekta Kapoor thing to do - and I think it's mostly prompted by jealousy - the thought that she shared something so intimate with someone else and not him...

Well, that's all I can think of right now...

I had previously said that Jai and Bani have been portrayed in a very poor light. It is not expected of either. I do not approve of Bani staying quiet and neither do I approve the way Jai behaved today. He has no right whatsoever to use such derogatory words against Bani. Where is 'HIS' guilt now??
Neither of them are behaving like adults. Bani's character is losing its reality factor completely and Jai is behaving like Jigs.. which is absolutely atrocious.
Not sure what the scriptwriters have been drinking or eating!!!! they were unable to produce a good episode.

All this is based on what MT and Doyel have written.. but I dont think it will change after I watch the episode, because so far, I have been able to get the right picture from the updates.
