Billo Masi Part 5

Pia and Rano, both looked angrily at Bani, "Di…why are you letting him do this? That man out there threw you out of the house…and now you are willing to help him."

Bani skimmed the clothes hanging in Pia's wardrobe. "Listen…I know what I am doing…and anyway…what did masi do wrong to me. I too would like to meet masi…why is your jiju so desperate to please his masi? Pia I need something…to wear…I want one of the sari with those skimpy bra top blouse."

Rano's eyes popped out, she gave a strange look to Pia. Pia looked at Bani as if she was crazy, "Di…you don't like blouses like that…are you sure you want to meet his masi wearing a sari like that."

Bani nodded, "Haan…best way to find out how his masi feels about me…whether she judges me by what I wear or…she waits to find out what I am like…"

Rano gave nod of approval, "Di…I like that…not bad idea…she if she is fuddy duddy old hag or she is one of this hip cool granny."

"Don't call her names…you don't know her." Bani chided Rano.

"Well if that is how she raised her nephew…I mean jiju…she didn't do a good job with him."

Bani took the sari from Pia and disappeared into the bathroom, ten minutes later she came out, pinning the pallu at one end. She looked herself in the mirror. "huh…I look half naked…" Bani muttered. Pia rolled her eyes, "Honestly di…you look fine. Pehli baar aisa lagta…than you just get used to it."

Bani picking up her purse, "I hope so…listen Rano…you stay here with Pia…I am not sure if I want to take you with me just yet."

Rano hugged Bani, "Don't worry di…I am in no hurry to step back into that house. You just take care of yourself. And don't take any shit from anyone…you don't owe them anything."

Bani patted Rano's cheek, "Thanks for the advise…but I have things in control for the moment…your jiju needs me…to save his ass from his masi…"

Tarun whistled loudly as Bani came out. "Whoa…Bani…you look so hot…I think I changed my mind…we should go out on a date…forget chai and masi."

Bani caste a quick smile at Tarun, "Thanks Tarun…I shall take that as a rain check…but I signed a contract so I have to go and meet masi first."

Jai smirked at Tarun, "Chai hi milegi aaj raat…aur woh bhi meri biwi ke haath ki… "

Tarun picked up his laptop, "Chalo…at least now you acknowledged that she is your wife."

Adi popped his head into the room at the door, "Come on guys…now Jigyasa is calling me every five minutes…masi is getting very hyper now."

Adi raised his brow as he stared at Bani. "Hmm…interesting…dekte hai…" he mumbled to himself.

"Come on Mr Walia…lets get this show on the road. Let's get home before your masi develops high blood pressure." Bani waved at Pia, Pushkar and Rano and walked out of the apartment.

In car, she went and sat in the front passenger seat. Adi chuckled as Bani put the seat belt on. "You know Bani. I am so glad you are coming back home. You had only been gone a few hours…but maa and I were missing you. You will love masi. She is fun…maa and she really have blast when ever she comes."

Bani sighed softly, "Thanks Adi uncle…"

The door of the Walia mansion flung open, even before the car came to a halt. Masi rushed down the steps as Jai came out of the car. "Munna…"

Jai smiled at masi, "Sorry masi…thori der hogayi…"

Masi pinched his cheek, "Koi baat nahi…abh meri bahu kahaan hai?"

Adi opened the door of car and waited for Bani to come out. "Masi…yeh rehi apki bahu…Bani." Adi called out as he escorted Bani towards masi. Bani draped the pallu over her shoulders and touched masi's feet. "Namaste masi." She said softly.

Masi took hold of Bani by her shoulder and stared at her for few moments and then she nodded, "Biji…sach kehti thi…tu bahut pyari lagti hai…" And then looking at Jai, "mei bahut khush Bani…ke mere munna ne sahi chunna hai iss baar…"

Adi sniggered at masi's word, if only masi knew the truth about Jai and Bani's marriage. Who chose who? Only God could answer that.

Jigyasa's voice boomed from the doorway, "Masi…aap bahar baite karenge. Yeh rahi apki puja ki thali…jaldi karo…sab ko bhook lagi hai…aur khana thanda ho raha hai." She gave a venomous look at Bani, her happiness of having got rid of Bani was short lived. The girl who made her blood boil was back again in the house.

Part 6

Masi made Jai and Bani stop at the door so she could do arti before letting them in, "Aree yeh toh mera hak hai…meri bahu ko mere ghar mei welcome karne." Tarun sneaked his face between Jai and Bani, "Meri pyari masi…mera bhi welcome kardo saath saath…"

Masi pulled Tarun's ear, "Chal…hath…jab tu bahu ko lei ke ayega tabh mei tum dono ko welcome karungi…aaj sirf munna aur uski bahu."

Tarun pouted, "Masi…par mei bahu kahaan se laaun…mujhe toh kissi aur Bani jaisi nahi milti…"

Masi did tikka on Jai and Bani and then handed the thali to Tony. "Tarun…bhabhi…bolo…Bani tumari bhabhi hai."

"kaise bhabhi masi…Jai thora mera bhai hai…humari sirf business relationship hai." And Tarun put his arm around Bani, "Aur Bani and mei and more friends."

Masi glowered at Tarun, " Dekh Tarun…yeh mei nahi janti…tumari business chakkar kya hai…par mei bas yehi janti hoon, tumeh Bani ko naam se pukarne ka haq nahi hai."

Bani took hold of masi's hand, "Masi…rehne di yeh saab…mujhe bura nahi lagta…aur aajkal…log ko rishte nate mei kuch interest nahi hai."

Masi gave a sad smile, "Haan teri baat bhi saach hai…par beta…Tarun aur Jai, dono ek dusre ko kitne saalo se dost hai…aur dosti ki naate toh usse tujhe respect dena chahiye nah."

Jai snickered, "Suna Tarun…Bani nahi bhabhi kehna usse."

Tarun smirked, "You are forgetting Jai…temporary arrangement hai…after that…"

Masi pulled at Jai and Bani's hand, "Chalo…"

Dadi hugged Bani and winked at her, "Meri Rani aagayi…aur kitni cute lagti hai…wah yeh noodle, doodle blouse mei toh very cute. Aree Jai puttar…abhi khayal ayaa tune kyun der kardi ghar aane mei…"

Jai frowned, " Dadi…kya soche hai aap, Bani Pushkar aur Pia ko milne gayi thi…wahaan kuch baate karne mei time nikal gaya…"

Jigyasa came and sidled her arm through Jai and put on a fake smile, her eyes reflecting spite, "Jai bhaiya…I am so glad you brought Bani back. Look at masi…a moment ago she had been looking so depressed."

Jai did not say anything, "Shall we have dinner…I am hungry. And then I want to sleep."

Masi nodded, "Haan…chalo dinner karlete hai…aaj toh saab ki saath baaithe ki khana khane ka maazaa ayega. Bani beta…jao Tony ko kehdo khana table pe lagaye."

"Jee masi…" Bani walked towards kitchen. Masi bustled everyone towards the dining table. Tony and Bani came few minutes later with food dishes. Bani started serving everyone. Masi looked at her, "Bani…chordo…Tony kardega yeh saab kuch…tu bhi hamari saath baith jana."

Bani smiled, "nahi masi…aaj mujhe yeh karne do…waise…I already had dinner at Pia's."

"Accha…chal toh parsonde khana…Tony ki haath ke khanna toh har roz milega."

Bani served everyone and then disappeared. Tarun sniffed the air, "Masi…mujhe kuch achi kushboo aa rahi hai…zaroor bani halwa banati hogi…"

Masi sniffed too, "Haan, Tarun…garam garam halwa khaane ki maza kuch aur hai."

Jigyasa snapped, "Haan aur phir saab complain karte hai ki diabetes hogayi…sharir size mei double hogaya."

Masi grinned, "ek din halwa khaye toh diabetes nahi hojayegi…aur mera naseeb hai meri bahu…ki haath ka bana hua halwa khana milega."

Adi and dadi, both agreed, "Haan billo sach kitne dino se halwa nahi khaya…"

Jai got up, "I don't want any desert…you guys eat. I am going upstairs…masi good night."

Masi did not look pleased, "Jai…yeh accha nahi hai…Bani ki wait toh karo…."

Jai shook his head, "Nahi…masi…aaj bahut tired hogaya hoon….aur uska toh abhi kitna kaam baki hai…"

"Kaisa kaam…ghar mei itne sare naukar…hai. Abhi mei Bani ko bhejti hoon…tu jaa."

Couple of minutes Bani came with tray full of bowl filled with piping hot halwa.

Masi looked at Jigyasa, "Jigyasa…chal Bani ki paas se tray lei le…tu sabko baant de…aur Bani…tu kamre jaa…Jai…theek hai ke nahin…chala gaya upar."

Bani groaned inwards, here we go she thought. She pouted a smile at Jigyasa, "Here di…I have to go…else masi will worry." Jigyasa scowled and took the tray from Bani and set it in middle of the table, "Help yourself everyone…I will skip the halwa…Tony mere liye diet icecream lei aa."

Mai savouring a spoonful of halwa, "Aree Jigyasa…abhi teri dieting chal rahi hai…kitna acha hai halwa…aur tu diet ice cream khayegi."

Adi snikered, "Masi rehnedo…uska hissa meri pet mei jayega…mujhe Bani ki haath ka khana bahut pasand hai."

Bani entered the bedroom and looked at Jai sprawled on the bed. She shut the door with a bang, Jai looked towards her. "Mr Walia…you are sleeping on the floor remember. The bed is mine."

Jai scowled, "This is my house and my bedroom…"

"Yes but you agreed…as long as we have to share the bedroom…than you will sleep on the floor."

"I never agreed I would stick to the agreement…I had to get you here so I let you make up the contract…I have no intention of sleeping on the floor."

Bani turned on her heel, "Fine…I will just go and tell masi…I am leaving now…I only came here to meet her."

Jai jumped off the bed and grabbed Bani, "No…ok...ok..I will sleep on the floor. Just make the bed on the floor me…"

Bani arched a brow, "Make your own bed, the duvet is in the bottom of the wardrobe. I do any personal work for you."

Jai mimicked Bani silently and stormed off to the wardrobe, yanking it open, he pulled the duvet out and threw it on the floor. Pulling out his pjs he went off to the bathroom to change. When he came out, Bani was already tucked under blanket on the bed. She did not look at Jai as he walked across to where he had dumped the duvet.

Getting down on his knees, he straightened it somewhat and then sprawled down on it. After few moments, Bani turned off the light.

Jai woke up when bright light hit his eyes. He squinted and then rolled over on his stomach, grimacing as his back protested with stiffness. He had never slept on floor before, even on the so-called camping trips as kids, when they slept inside wooden cabin with bunks. It was too early, he got up and slipped inside the bed, he could at least enjoy the softness of his expensive bed mattress for a couple of hours. He sniffed at the blanket, it smelt of faint scent of flowers and spices…must be Bani's perfume he thought. He never knew she wore perfume…there wasn't a bottle on the table…may be she borrowed Pia…he remembered gifting Pia expensive perfumes. Within few minutes he had drifted off to sleep.

Couple of hours later Jai woke up when he felt someone shake him rougly. "Sir…wake up…you have to go to office." Tony's voice called out.

"Later Tony…let me sleep for a few minutes." Jai mumbled.

"OK sir…but I have laid out your clothes…and Bani mam said to remind you to come down for breakfast with masi."

"Masi…breakfast…ok." Jai mumbled before falling asleep again.

Tony sighed as he looked at the bedding on the floor. He picked it up and folded and put it back neatly. He hoped Bani mam wasn't sleeping on the floor again…men…can be such a pig when it comes to comfort. His father had been same…getting drunk and treating his mother like dirt.

When Jai woke up, it was past nine in the morning. Now where was his coffee, a cup of caffeine should get his brain going. But the usual coffee tray at the side table was missing. And then he remembered Tony telling him to wake up…may be Tony took it back as it had gone cold. Oh well better hit the shower. He buzzed the intercom, Tony…"Bring me a cup of coffee." He orderd.

"Err…sir…Bani mam said…no more coffee in the bedroom…no food or drink in the room unless a person is sick. You missed breakfast too sir…"

"I don't care about breakfast Tony…I need a cup of coffee dammit. I am going to shower, make sure coffee is up here when I come out."

Jai rubbed his hair with towel as he stepped out of the bathroom. He felt much better now. The hot shower had removed stiffness from his muscles. Jai stopped as he saw Bani standing in the middle of the room and become conscious of the nakedness, as he had just wrapped another towel around his bottom torso.

Bani smiled, "Good morning Mr Walia. I just came to tell, please don't harass Tony with demands of coffee. You can have your coffee downstairs. And from now on breakfast will be at eight am…and it would be nice while masi is here that you make an effort to join her."

Jai dropped the towel that was in his hand on the floor. "What the hell is wrong with you? You don't have to go around upsetting my routine. I don't need my life turned upside down to please masi…it is your job to keep masi happy."

Bani grinned, "But I am making masi happy…she told me to make sure…you don't slouch around in the bedroom…and that you come downstairs and join her for breakfast."

Jai rolled his eyes, "Women! Fine…go away…I want to get dressed."

Bani smirked, "I am…don't worry…I am interested in hanging around seeing you in your birthday suit. I am sure you are no different than other men."

Jai's jaw dropped, "Other men…how many men have you seen naked?"

"I don't know…I didn't know I supposed to count…" she said cheekily and with that Bani walked out of the bedroom.
