So finally Bani said what is on her mind. Wondering now what Jai would do. Will he pursue the relationship or just let her go. Loved the Ranveer Rano angle at least one couple seems to move in the right direction. With Jai and Bani it is in a see saw mode. Also what will their parents have to say seeing that the kids are not happy what they thought and what is actually happening are two opposite things.

First of all let me begin by thanking u for taking over this SS, and devoting time to it. It was one SS I definitely wanted to read. I like how the story is progressing esp with RR adding some lighthearted banter to it. I am happy that Jai is finally back and has accepted his parents. I want to believe that Jai is truly sorry for his behaviour and wants to reconcile with Bani also, but like Bani mentioned in the previous update I cant help but think that she is now acceptable to him since she is pretty. Hope I am wrong, I am sure u will prove me wrong, looking forward to more updates.

Dhani super part...I think I loved this, Bani finally getting all that ugliness that had been eating away at her...yes she is right, she is still the same person...the same girl he ripped apart on the wedding night.

Bani's outburst is so justified. jai now wants her when she is sophisticated, beautiful. She still hurt by Jai's words.

Jai took out his anger against his dad on an innocent girl. Its not easy for her to accept Jai's changed attitude toward her.

Waiting to see how Jai can convince her his feeling are for her as person & not just her changed looks.

"You can't always have what you want jai…you need to earn it…" Krishna said looking at her son sympathetically who looked dishelved, with a day old stubble still unshaved…

"Maa…I said I will make it up to her…" he sounded pompous…

"But what she said was not wrong jai…" he remained silent, unable to counter that…

"I can't change that…" he muttered…

"But it did affect her jai…"

"So what do I do now…pair padoon kya uske…" he said with a flash of anger…

"Kabhi dil se bhi soch liya karo…jai…" Krishna left him alone…

It was no point staying here…he was so much better off in America, untouched by the intricacies of over-bearing relationships…he wasn't meant for it…rather they weren't meant for him… he was an aimless wanderer…a kite without a string… he got hold of his phone…

"Ranveer book me a ticket NOW…I am going back…" yelling he hung up…

He sat with his suitcase open…he sat motionless, holding his clothes…he felt unassumingly upset over the thought of leaving…the thought of leaving behind his joyous mother, his content father and more importantly Bani…leaving behind a family which could be his if he made a sincere effort…the wonderful moments of the last few days had calmly wiped away the bitter memories of his past…he didn't want to leave all that…the smiles, the laughs, the happiness…it was after so many struggling years that he was genuinely happy…and maybe at peace with himself… …he himself had disagreed to confess that it was only because of bani this was possible…but today he felt at ease telling himself that bani influenced him in a way he even didn't notice… almost unsayingly she said may things through her eyes…

"You are leaving…" his idle thoughts got disturbed by his father who wobbled in…

"I guess…yes…" jai said throwing his clothes in the suitcase carelessly…uday walked in slow steps, sitting on a chair opposite to him…

"Hurt…" he asked…

"No…"

"Don't lie…" jai kept himself busy, not looking at him directly… …

"You are hurt by her rejection…" jai didn't utter a word… …

"Do you realize that she went through the same…in fact much more when you accused her with no fault of hers…?"

A brief guilt built inside him…

"Put yourself on her place and think jai…if you really do love her then you will understand her…"

"And don't repeat the same mistake I did…I hurt your mother believing a misconception… and ran away…I never asked her what she wanted…" uday got up… walking out…

"Women are strange jai…we men can never understand them…the only thing we have to do is love them truly and they will only give back…we can't even imagine how much they give us unconditionally…"

Uday's words rang in his ear… For the first time in his entire life he despised himself…he despised his arrogance…he despised his ego…he was no different from his father…like him he also hurt his mother…like him he also ran away from circumstances…even today he wasn't doing anything different… …

Just then ranveer barged in…

"What is up with you man???" Ranveer said throwing away the air-ticket which flew and finally landed on the floor… …

"I am not going…" jai said as a matter of fact, bundling his clothes in his arms, putting them back in the cupboard… …

"I almost pleaded that woman and now you are saying this…kaise gadhe ko janam diya hain aunty ne…DOG you are!!!" ranveer stomped his foot and left…jai chuckled as he heard ranveer scream abuses at him, complaining to his mother, gorging on something his mother must have prepared… …

Bani snapped her fingers…rano was lost in her own world… …

"Where are you Madam???" bani asked overlooking the final preparations…her cheeks flushed…

"You are blushing…" bani asked amused…

"Okay what happened????" bani's eyes grew wide…

"He kissed me…"

"WOWWW!! And What???"

"And nothing…"

"So finally the Great Rano falls in love…"

"I don't know…" rano said a bit unmindful…

"I am so happy for you both…" bani hugged her…

"It's too early bani… "rano argued…

He didn't see bani…deliberately avoided her… he didn't want her to be upset again, not before her performance… she had invited everyone except him…but he would be shameless and gate-crash, thanks to rano, she had sent him an invitation…jai adjusted the tuxedo…straightening the black satin tie… he whistled as he made his way downstairs, surprising his parents…

"What???" he looked at their puzzled faces…they both shook their heads too speechless…

"Chalen…we are getting late…" he hurried outside…

Ranveer quietly slipped backstage…

"Hi Gorgeous!!!!" he smiled as he saw rano doing a last minute check….bani would be on stage any moment…

"Ranveer I am busy…"

"I just came to say thanks for sending the invite…jai is elated…" ranveer said moving away as she sprinted from one end to another…

"Your friend better take care of her or else he has to deal with me…bol dena usse…" rano said looking at him squarely…

"Tum gusse main bhi achi lagti ho…" rano broke into a smile… just then the announcement was made about Bharati's much awaited performance…the music started, bani glided in soft steps… …

Jai sat in the farthest corner, away from his parents who were seated in the front in the VIP section… his eyes remained fixed on the object who captivated him, he was spellbind…his insides churned as she, playing Sita jumped into the fire with a smiling face…he took out his camera…focusing it…he clicked her in various postures… … even long after the performance was over he sat glued to his seat…understanding the metaphorical meaning of the whole concept…he done something like that...disgraced her… he actually thought about how a seventeen year old girl would have felt upon being subjected to such barbarity of pinching words…from his side maybe he was too angry and hurt but he had no right to demean her like that, mocking her existence… no wonder she was so sour and touchy about certain things in life… …

"You were wonderful darling…" ranveer hugged bani…

"Thank you…" she said as she came out of the changing room, removing the make-up, clad in simple, regular clothes… … rano hugged her tightly… …

"It's already late we should leave…" Krishna said…bani's eyes grew cold as she saw jai coming towards them from behind…she gave a hard stare to rano who cleverly avoided her sight pretending to be busy talking to uday…

"Aunty, uncle and rano why don't I drop you…jai will take bani with him, they can directly go home…" ranveer suggested, bani was about to protest but everyone agreed unanimously, walking away leaving jai and bani alone… …

"Chalen…" jai said softly…bani nodded her head, getting her bag from inside… …

"You were awesome…" he complimented her…

"Thanks…" bani said keeping her gaze outside…though nothing was visible in the darkness…

"Er…Bani…I am sorry for everything…" jai said looking at her briefly…

"For everything possible…I really am sorry…" bani didn't find anything to say in reply to his apology… …

"I can't change what has happened…"

"I was hurt too bani…I hated my father and you know why…my parents forcefully got me married…what do you expect bani…and all that pent up anger I took out on you…"

"I know I shouldn't have done that… but I wasn't thinking right…"

"I think we better leave this here…I don't want to go through all this again…I forgive you…honi ko kaun tal sakta hain….maybe it was our destiny…" bani said taking a deep breath…

"Can't we start again??" he asked after a moment's hesitance as he halted the car before the house… bani watched him with unfeeling eyes… …

"I don't need to start again jai…I seriously don't…neither am I in love with you nor am I a wife to the man who took me to be shit…"

"I don't need to start again…." She uttered getting out of the car…she bent down to look at him through the open door…

"Thanks for the ride…" bani said slamming the door…jai hit the steering wheel in desperation… …

He discarded his coat, losing his tie, he kept walking, digging his palms in his pant pockets, he kicked the stone which came his way… …he deserved it…every bit of ruthlessness…after all he had given the same to her…it was enough now…for her…for him…he believed he wanted to see her happy, his happiness nested in her smile… he would be really glad if he would be able to give back that smile to her…even if that didn't include him to be anywhere in her life… …

Bani opened the door, surprised by the fact that who knocked at this odd hour…she wasn't asleep…she viewed jai; half hiding behind the open door…he was standing still…eyes a bit disoriented…bani patiently waited for him to speak up, clutching the edge of the door, half of her face obscured from his view… …

"I will divorce you…if that makes you happy…" she heard him speak…

"I am sorry…" he left noiselessly… …a tear trickled down her face… …

What did she want???? She asked herself in despair… … he made her angry, he made her happy, he made her sad…in every possible way he affected her…she wanted him yet she didn't… …

"At least we can be friends…" jai extended his hand…bani's heart dipped…she kept the divorce papers aside; he had handed over the papers to her, to go through them…

"Of course jai…" bani shook his hand lightly…

"No hard feelings…" jai said smiled retreating his hand…

"No…"

"Pakka…"

"Pakka…"

"It's such a relief…now…" he smiled…she smiled at him…

"I am getting late…you read the papers, if you want to add anything…" he said…she simply nodded her head…

"And ma aur dad ko tumhi batana…I don't think I will be able to…" again she nodded her head…bidding her good bye he turned around, he stopped after a few steps turning around he flanked at her…

"And bani…you can never be ugly…because your beauty lies within yourself…it's not limited to outer appearance…and try to forget what happened…don't give my words so much of importance…I don't think I am worth it…" he said leaving her thoughtful… for months she didn't look at herself in the mirror…because whenever she did his spiteful words slapped across her face…and she felt ugly…not only from outside but from inside too…she didn't feel happy seeing the divorce papers in her hands…she wanted it… she had asked for it…but why was she not happy, it's not like she had been a traditional person, still believing herself to be a man's wife who didn't care about her…she had very much moved on…and was happy too until jai met her again by destiny's design… …

"You did WHAT??????" Ranveer and rano said simultaneously, staring at jai who felt himself being interrogated by his best friend and his wife's best friend…

"Well, I wanted to see her happy…" jai replied, trying to do his work…which wasn't being possible because of the two raging people attacking him… …

"You best friend has gone nutsss…" rano yelled at ranveer…

"Jai, kya yaar…" ranveer said disheartened…

"Pata nahin…after listening to her…I just…I just felt so bad…mujhe lagta tha that I am the only who has been hurt, who has been wronged but she was wronged ranveer…losing her parents, getting tied to me at the age of seventeen, taking care of my parents just because she was indebted to them for their kindness…she could have left…went away…even when she met me, she could have tricked me…but she never did anything like that…she is just wonderful…and if she doesn't want me in her life…I would gladly give it to her…" jai ended thinking of bani… …ranveer and rano remained quiet…

"Par yeh dil…kya kehta hain jai…" ranveer said…

"Doesn't it say bani…??"

"Ab toh sab khatam ho gaya… "jai got up, smiling…

"I have just given the papers…there is a lot of time…so…" jai winked at them…

"Now that's like Jai Walia…" ranveer smiled broadly…

"Rano you need to help me out…tell everything about her…her favorite color…food…what she likes…what she doesn't…?"
