Part-6
Bani woke up with a dizzy feel?the night had been sleepless for a considerable part, crouching thoughts kept her pre-occupied? she wasn't ready to face them?not then?not now?may be never?she had promised herself not to? five years was too late to dwell in the past?she got up reinforcing the positivity which always infused her with a new hope?after taking a shower, longer than usual?she changed into a casual dress, a fitted jeans and a loose top?she tiptoed into jai's bedroom? to find him missing?a wave of panic shot through her?
"Jai?jaiii?" she shouted in despair, her eyes scanning all around when a faint click of the door calmed her nerves? she composed herself as she witnessed him coming out of the bathroom, freshly bathed, looking better?
"Good morning?" he smiled weakly?
"How are you feeling??" she stepped back?
"Much better?" he said looking at her?he hadn't expected her to stay back and take care of him?in a similar way his mother used to do years and years ago?he had even forgotten?but she surprised him?and his belief strengthened that she was not merely a lady with a pretty face but much more?she was so indigenous and grounded?somewhere he envied her for all the goodness she possessed and he didn't?or probably he never did choose to see the good part?he had realized it by now?crossing thirty, may be some wisdom had bestowed upon him with elapsing time and piling experience?
"Good?" bani smiled, adjusting her rimless glasses?a bit nervous at the way he was looking at her?they were not of desire?nor of the usual maleness they tended to exhibit?they were soft?as if they were admiring a great piece of art?that made her fidgety? he wasn't supposed to be like this?. he wasn't supposed to look at her like this? vulnerable and mellow?he was aggressive, demanding and angry?that was the image she had in her mind since the first time she laid her timid eyes on him?a man who had fire in his eyes?a fire so dangerous that it threatened to burn down everything that came his way?and unfortunately it had turned many things into ashes? she pitied him somewhere that in the process of spilling that fire he had burnt himself too?and he didn't even realize what he had lost into those dead ashes?his parents?who yearned for him day and night?
"Thanks?thanks for everything?and sorry for ruining our date?" jai said apologetically throwing away the towel which he was holding?
"It wasn't a date Mr. Walia?" she said a bit flatly?she saw him frown?
"Well, I guess I must leave?I have work?" bani said vacating his room?checking her small bag if everything was there or not?
"Bharatii?hey?stay?" jai followed her into the living room, now filtered with the bright morning sunrays?
"Take care of yourself and please take your medicine on time?" bani said swinging the bag on her shoulder?
"Bharati?I?I?need to tell you something?" jai uttered desperately?
"I forgot?a woman came to see you?" bani informed him?she heard him curse under his breath as her hand lifted to unlatch the door?
"Bharati? it's not like that?she is?not what you are thinking?" jai fumbled?opening the door bani turned around to look at him?
"I am not thinking anything jai?and no need to tell me about your life?we are barely related?" bani said with a smile?jai kept watching her till he heard the door shut with a bang?

"Are you mad???" rano screamed after listening to what her best friend told her just now?bani shot her a glare?
"I mean?it was perfect?he fell sick, you took care of him?and this was even better?his ex comes in?it would have been great but you ruined it ALL?" rano said exasperated, and highly upset over the fact that her rosy plan went for a toss?
"Bas rano?hum se yeh sab nahin hoga aur?"bani said frustrated by this pretence and drama?this was not right?she pulled out her suitcase, literally dumping her clothes?
"Bani?yaar?I know but he deserves every bit of it?" rano said justifying her exclusive plan to trap Jai Walia?
"No rano?he doesn't deserve it?" bani stood erect, with her hands crossed against her chest?
"I can't believe YOU!!!! After what that jerk did you are siding him?Tum toh insaan ke roop main devi ho?maate?" rano bowed in front of her dramatically?
"Rano please?the circumstances were different?and I never blamed him for anything?shaayad unki jagah par hum hote toh hum yehi karte?" bani said picking up her ghunghroos which rang in delight?
"Par think about baba and ma?" rano said?
"I have decided to tell jai everything?" bani said firmly?rano gaped at her?
"WHAT!!!!!" she yelled?
"Yes?baaki jai ke haat main if he wants to come or not?" bani said, before rano could say another word she had already picked up the phone, dialing his number?

He had been pacing in the lobby for the past half an hour, bharati had called him to speak something very important?his pulse raised?damn that woman Roshni who came last night and messed up everything, she was not even his girlfriend for the matter, she was just a mere acquaintance who caught his fancy?they hadn't even?. Arrgghh!!! He had practically shredded her over the phone?he would have killed her?now it would be an uphill task to convince bharati that he was not two-timing her?he stomped his foot in extreme despair?no woman had made him so imperatively desperate as she made him?for unknown reasons he couldn't reason himself that this was just a passing affair like it had been for most part of his life?no woman was strong enough to make a hold in his heart and possess his mind?but bharati?she was inimitable?she managed to seduce him like a snake-charmer who made the snake dance to his tunes with effortless ease? and she did all this without even actually trying to do anything?maybe that was the beauty?all the women he knew tried to please him? acting diligently at his whims?but bharati was stark different? she challenged him?provoking the deepest desire inside him which was fossiled somewhere deep down in a well guarded by its steep unending walls?
Jai stopped in his tracks as his portent eyes lay on her slim figure gliding towards him? he clutched the bunch of flowers in his hand even more tightly, almost crushing them? bani mentally grinned, he and his flowers?she was sick of it?not that she didn't like flowers but somehow the mere thought of her estranged husband meeting her again suddenly, almost falling for her, trying to woo her with his best charms?it all was too surreal to happen in reality?
"Bharati?listen?roshni?she is insane?its nothing like that?please?believe me?please?" he rambled?stretching out the pure white incarnations towards her? bani gingerly took them, caressing the soft petals?
"Mr. Walia?I need to tell you something?much more important?" bani said standing aright?for a moment jai tried to predict what she was going to tell him, blissfully unaware of the fact that what was coming was much more than what he tried to anticipate?
"You believe me?sure?" he asked with tentative eyes?bani nodded her head proceeding towards the restaurant in the hotel
