Chapter 37
Bani received the call from the inspector in the afternoon. She was about to sit for lunch her cell phone buzzed she excused and took the call. Aditya followed her. He wanted to hear what she was going to talk to the inspector.
Charles had spoken to him after he spoke to Bani. Bani saw her papa and shook her head. The inspector spoke to her in lengths every time she answered him she looked at Aditya. Aditya nodded as she spoke each word carefully.
They returned to the table three pairs of eyes up on them.
'Di, what is it?'
Bani gave a feeble smile. 'The driver is caught and the inspector was asking few questions ....'
'Why sad face? Asked Pia.
Bani shrugged.
Aditya smiled and shook his head. "She thinks she is doing injustice to the woman who had tried to kill her...'
Bani put her head down Jigyasa threw her a look.
Pia and Sahil gave an exasperated look.
'Are you real? Asked Sahil.
'This is a serious issue.' said Bani.
'Like?' Aditya looked at her.
'She has a family because of her one mistake they are going to suffer... A family will fall apart...'
'Who do you think you are Bani? You at times really make me angry she had done a severe mistake. She should think about her family before committing a sin you are not responsible for them she is..' Aditya shook with anger. Bani looked away guiltily.
Jigyasa reached her hand and touched her husband. Aditya gave her a look and then pulled his plate.
Bani picked on her food. Aditya looked at her and asked, 'Eat Bani..'
'Ji..'

Bani received a call from Charles in the evening. He had asked her to come back. She did want to go and see her Pappa but she was saddened by the thought of going away from her family and Jai too. She was angry with him and she refused to talk to him when he called. She decided to call him and tell him her Pappa had asked her to go back she did not know what drama he would create hearing about it. Before that she needed to talk to Jigyasa. She had no idea how she was going to do it. Bani walked to the living room Aditya was talking on the phone she stood at the door as he disconnected the call she walked in and stood before him.
'Yes Bani..'
'Papa I er... Pappa had asked me to go back...'
'What?' came a meek sound form the sofa. Bani and Aditya turned to her. Jigyasa looked from Aditya to Bani. Bani looked at her in shock.
Jigyasa looked at Aditya and then her gaze fixed on Bani.
The silence filled the room. Jigyasa got up from the settee and walked towards her and stopped before her daughter who looked at her in bewilderment.
'You are going?' Asked Jigyasa.
Bani looked at Aditya.
'I er...' she nodded.
'Why?'
Bani looked at Aditya again.
Aditya stood silently looking at mother and daughter. Bani returned her gaze on her mother. Whose face looked very pale.
Bani looked again at Aditya for help. What should she tell her? How would she tell her mother she is going to her Pappa? What explanation would she give her she looked again at Aditya. Aditya took her hand and encouraged her. 'Bani I think you both need to talk...' a lump formed in his throat. He patted her hand and left the room.
Jigyasa saw him leave. She wanted to hold him and tell him please stay I need your support Adi I need you...... her heart screamed no words came out of her lips. Her gaze fixed on Bani.
Bani's heart hammered in her chest. 'What was going to happen to her? Did her mother learn about her? Does she know Bani is her daughter? Bani searched Jigyasa's face. She saw her eyes well up with tears. Her heart pounded in her chest. Bani had just one dream ever since she stepped into the house. She wanted her mother to acknowledge her. Bani's gaze did not leave her face. The silence stretched between them.
Jigyasa's throat tightened. How was she going to look at her face and say I am your mother. She had known all along who her mother was she was the one who was unaware of her presence. When silence became unbearable she cleared her throat and asked, 'You are going?'
Bani nodded.
'why?'
'You don't like me to stay here. Wont it be better I leave without bothering you...' Bani did not have anything else to stay.
Jigyasa's face blanched and Bani felt like hitting her.
'I am sorry. I know you have changed. I need to go I have a Pappa who lives in Panchghani who does not let me away from his eyes.' Bani stopped and looked at her. Jigyasa face twitched.
'He is my own father.' Said Bani seeing Jigyasa's face getting paler . her eyes widened she almost whispered. 'You know?'
A tear spilled from Jigyasa's eyes. Bani looked at her mother in shock.
Bani grabbed her hand and shook her. 'you knew and you did not tell me?' Pain flashed in her eyes.
'You knew too Bani why did you not tell me?' Asked Jigyasa as her heart tore into thousand pieces.
Bani choked. How could she tell her she was bound by promise. Bani bowed her head as her eyes filled and tears spilled on her cheeks. Jigyasa lifted her face up as their eyes filled and tears rolled down on their cheeks.
'You knew all along who I was not once you.........'
'I though you would recognize me... I thought a mother did not need any confirmation when she sees her child I thought no matter from where I came you would know me....' Bani choked over her words unable to continue....
Jigyasa took a step back from her she couldn't bear to hear more.
Bani looked at her with tear stained face. 'I did not want to create any problems in your family. I was happy to see you from distance..'
Jigyasa sat on the settee and buried her face in her hands.
'I don't deserve to be a woman...' she mumbled as Bani came and sat down before her. Bani held her hand. She took her hand and caressed. "it's alright it's never late....' Jigyasa looked at her. This was the child she had prayed so much for. How could she have been so blind and not notice this child, how cruelly she had behaved with her tears sprung from her eyes. Bani held her mother's hands in her small hand and looked at her and then smiled between tears. 'Please don't cry... It's not your fault. You did not know.. you'r family had betrayed you and you can't blame them too..'
Jigyasa looked at her daughter in surprise how can she talk like this? She had prayed to god to give her a child whom the whole world would love and he had blessed her, everyone liked her except Jigyasa she even doubted her.
Bani was threatening her marriage when all the while she was her own enemy Jigyasa looked away in mortification.
Bani patted her hand and continued, 'fate had played a cruel game with all of us even Pappa, he did not betray anyone he......'
'Bani please...' Said Jigyasa turning to look at her.
'I know he has been misunderstood you both have been tricked. Pappa did not marry anyone at that time. He had an accident and was hospitalized for almost a month. When he came to look for you, You have been moved from the place. Don't hate him he is not at fault...'
Jigyasa's heart broke. She cried for them she cried for her lost child.
Bani took her in an embrace and a tremor ran through Jigyasa. She put her arms around her daughter. She felt warmth flowing with in her.
'We can not dwell on our pasts. You have married a good man a man who waited for you patiently all his life he gave you three beautiful children he made a home with you and he gave a FATHER I called him papa first and he gave me my biological father. He has done so much for us...'
Jigyasa was amazed by her wisdom. She withdrew from her and looked at daughter's face. 'I am so sorry Bani...'
'me too..' she smiled between tears. 'I need to go pappa wants me to be there..'
Jigyasa shook her head. 'No Bani... not now..'
'He wont let me stay..' Bani said studying her mother's face.
'Talk to him please...'
Bani nodded. She left her mother's side and reached for the phone. Jigyasa's heart pounded in her chest. She did not want to see them speaking she got up from the settee and walked out of the door. Bani saw her leave the room she turned he attention to the voice that boomed from the phone.

When Jigyasa walked to her room Aditya was sitting on the bed lost in thoughts. Jigyasa cleared her throat. He looked up. She went and sat beside him. She wanted to tell him so many things thank him for all he had done. Ask forgiveness from him for her rudeness. She looked at him and choked over her words. Aditya took her hand in his.
'What should I do Aditya how can I repay you for the things you have done? How can you be so understanding? Tell me you hated me..'
'I did..' he smiled saying it. 'I did hate you so much. Then I saw Bani there's so much you can learn from her Jigyasa.'
A tear welled in her eye and fell on her cheeks. She nodded. Aditya held her close to him. 'Did you tell her that you know she is your daughter?'
She nodded. "good she deserves to know.'
'What about her going back?'
'I don't know...'
'I'll talk to her.'
Jigyasa put her arms around him and placed her face on his chest.

Bani had hard time convincing her father. She had to beg him. He threatened to come and get her. Finally he gave into her whims.
PiA and Anu jumped with excitement. Bani had decided to stay for few days. Sahil watched his mother who ran in and out of the kitchen and she looked very happy. He decided to corner Bani and ask her what was behind his mother's happiness. Sahil did not need any confirmation about his doubts he was shocked to see his mother sitting on the chair a plate in her hand and she was feeding someone he tip toed and stood behind a pillar. His mouth dropped opened at the sight. Bani was sitting on the table her eyes were filled as she looked at her mother. Sahil so much wanted to go and join them he had never seen his mom this way he stood watching them. Bani choked over her food and he saw his mother getting water for her. Bani's gaze fell on Sahil she smiled turning red in the face. Sahil returned her smile and gave her a wink. Jigyasa's gaze followed Bani's she looked at her son. Her face paled. Sahil walked towards them and stopped before his mom. he looked at her hand she was holding a piece of roti he took her hand brought it to his mouth. Taking the piece in his mouth he looked at his stunned mother. He smiled at her. Jigyas'a eyes filled she looked away from him. Bani smiled in between tears. Her heart swelled. Sahil went and sat down next to Bani taking her hand in his he kissed the back of her hand and muttered, "only you could do this.. thank you.'
Jigyasa looked at him he was up from the table immediately and drew his mother in a tight hug.

Jai took his cell and dialed her number. The call was picked up in the third ring.
'Hi.'
'Jai sir..' she sounded little excited and his face broke into a smile.
'Missed me..'
'No...'
'Oh, i thought you sounded little excited to hear my sound.'
He felt her silence.. 'I am very happy..'
'Oh, why may i ask?'
'Ma knows I am her daughter..'
'What?' he almost shouted.
'Han..'
'I coming then..'
No Jai sir... I...' He did not stop to listen the line went dead.

Bani jumped form the bed as she heard the sound of the vehicle in the porch she did not know what to do he was unpredictable she feared he would come running looking for her. What would her mother think? She reached to the door. Pia flung the door open.
'Oho... waiting for him aren't you?'
Bani blushed scarlet.
'Sit here Bani di..'
Bani sat down looking at her. Pia burst out laughing. 'Go honey go and meet the majnu he seemed pretty anxious... does bua know all this?
Bani did not look at her face. She did not get up from the bed. Pia came and sat down next to her and laughed. "it's okay go and make his tea.'
Bani did not move. Pia pushed her out. Bani got down the step. She saw him stand near the door talking to his uncle. They looked up as she got down. Bani looked away from his piercing glance.
Jai watched her as she came down the stairs her face looked radiant. Her dream has come true her mother had acknowledged her. That was her dream. His thoughts broke as Aditya cleared his throat. Jai looked at him and smiled.
'Bani tea..' Said Aditya and winked at her. She blushed profusely.
Bani went to the kitchen and made tea for them. She took them to the living room she stood hesitantly at the door and Aditya called her in.
Jai looked at her face her face was worth to watch he smiled. She walked to Aditya and gave him his cup and then turned to Jai. He took the cup and looked at his uncle. 'MA was telling me she wanted to talk to you.'
Aditya nodded. Bani did not know what to do she moved to the door.
Jai chuckled. Aditya turned to him. Jai shrugged his shoulders.
Bani left them alone and walked out of the room.
Jai couldn't hold his curiosity he finally asked his uncle about Bani and Jigyasa.
'Who told you this?' Asked Aditya.
'So it's true.'
'Yes,'
Aditya looked happy and content.
"I am happy for you.. you deserve to be happy more than anyone in the world..' Aditya smiled.
'I'll talk to di..'
'About what?'
'You and Bani.'

Jai who had followed her to the terrace startled her by appearing in front of her.

'when can I see you then?' she heard him. 'don't shrug on me Bani.....'

'"I told you not to call her bua...'

Al right i'll talk to her soon...' Jigyasa heard his foot step she moved away from there.

Her eyes bore into him and he knew that was not just normal. He felt she wanted to say something to him.
'Mami you wanted to tell me something?' As he spoke to her it dawned on him he looked straight in her eyes and said, 'I am serious about Bani mami i'll talk to ma..'
Jigyasa stared at him. He knows about her and Bani? he too knew all along she looked away with shame filled face. Jai reached for her hand and squeezed them. 'Nothing is to be ashamed off I am happy you have acknowledged her.'
A tear spilled form her eyes. Jai felt terrible. He reached for her and took her in an embrace. 'Be strong mami and feel proud you have a daughter like her.'
Jigyasa smiled in between tears. 'Will di agree to this? She almost whispered.
'She will, there's only one woman in my life and that is Bani..' he left her side and walked out of the door. Jigyasa wiped her eyes. And her gaze fell on her husband who was watching her from distance. Their eyes met and he smiled at her in assurance.

Krishna Walia sat dumbfounded. Aditya understood her emotion. Silence fell between them and finally he broke the silence, "Di what do you say about it?'

Di she has changed and ...'
No , no Adi you may forgive her but I cant I love my brother too much to forgive someone who had put him through hell all his life..'

Krishna looked at him angrily. 'I am not big hearted like you Adi. I can't forgive her.'
'Di...' Aditya caught her hand in his. 'Jai likes Bani...'
Krishna did not respond.
'you were against thinking her as my daughter, Jai knew all along who she was. She is a gem of a girl.'
'she is..... I can't accept the fact that she is my brother's wife's daughter and her father, he is a Christian what would I tell Jai's father's family? How do you think I should handle this? I though you would understand my situation.. I am sorry Adi I cant.. Jai will have to forget her.'
Jai can't forget her ma..' said Jai walking to the room. He had been listening to them for a long time. His mother was not ready to listen to reasons. She was being stubborn he could understand what she was saying he understood her dilemma. He understood his mother but he can not forget Bani.
Krishna Walia stared at him. 'For you she is above me?'
'No ma you are my mother, there's difference between a life partner and mother I know you know that.
'Jai I do not want to hear anything. I can't give you my consent. I can't go around your fathe'sr family and explain to them about Bani's family... you know how they are...'
'Yes ma I can't jeopardize my life for them. Either you give your blessing to us or forget about my marriage if not Bani then no one.' He was tired by now. he had gone through emotional trauma with her father and now his mother why the whole world was hell bent on keeping them apart?
He walked out of the room angrily. Krishna Walia cried copiously. Aditya was up from his seat he touched her shoulder and then left the room leaving Krishna Walia in her misery.

Jigyasa was waiting anxiously for Aditya's return from his sister's house. One look at his face she knew everything had gone wrong. Her heart ached for her daughter. She had feared Krishna Walia's reaction. She understood her sister-in-law. But she loved her daughter above all reasoning. How was she going to take this?
To Jigyasa's surprise Bani took it very coolly. She had received a call from Jai saying he had failed her. Bani had consoled him asked him not to get angry with his mother, and asked him to support her in her hard times.
When he had asked what she would tell her Pappa she had told him not to worry. She will take care of him. Before he disconnected the call he had asked for her forgiveness to which she had laughed and kept the phone.
As she had put the phone down a lump had formed in her chest.

Bani behaved very normally with everyone. Pia had broken the news of Bani being their sister to Anu . Anu was ecstatic. Jigyasa looked at her children lovingly. To Pia's insistence Jigyasa had to hand feed all her children. Pia had jumped with joy when Bani told her Jigyasa had acknowledged her. She had cried for not being there when it occurred. Sahil had gloated in front of her. He had teased her their mother had fed him and Bani with her own hands when pia had gone out with her friends to enjoy.
Aditya watched his family with pride. He teased Jigyasa for giving her time to her children and neglecting him in the process.
'Papa is jealous.' Said Anu laughing at him.
'Han I am why can't your mother stretch her hand little bit and feed me too...'
the children laughed uproariously as Jigyasa looked embarrassed.
'Come on ma papa is waiting..' Said Pia, looking at her mother.
Jigyasa looked at Bani and Bani nodded. She turned to Aditya and fed him too. Their children clapped and cheered and the parents laughed along with them. Bani's cell buzzed and she reached for the phone. The laughter stopped as she picked up the call and said, 'Yes Pappa..'

Jigyasa was amazed by her wisdom. She withdrew from her and looked at daughter's face. 'I am so sorry Bani...'
'me too..' she smiled between tears. 'I need to go pappa wants me to be there..'
Jigyasa shook her head. 'No Bani... not now..'
'He wont let me stay..' Bani said studying her mother's face.
'Talk to him please...'
Bani nodded. She left her mother's side and reached for the phone. Jigyasa's heart pounded in her chest. She did not want to see them speaking she got up from the settee and walked out of the door. Bani saw her leave the room she turned he attention to the voice that boomed from the phone.

When Jigyasa walked to her room Aditya was sitting on the bed lost in thoughts. Jigyasa cleared her throat. He looked up. She went and sat beside him. She wanted to tell him so many things thank him for all he had done. Ask forgiveness from him for her rudeness. She looked at him and choked over her words. Aditya took her hand in his.
'What should I do Aditya how can I repay you for the things you have done? How can you be so understanding? Tell me you hated me..'
'I did..' he smiled saying it. 'I did hate you so much. Then I saw Bani there's so much you can learn from her Jigyasa.'
A tear welled in her eye and fell on her cheeks. She nodded. Aditya held her close to him. 'Did you tell her that you know she is your daughter?'
She nodded. "good she deserves to know.'
'What about her going back?'
'I don't know...'
'I'll talk to her.'
Jigyasa put her arms around him and placed her face on his chest.

Bani had hard time convincing her father. She had to beg him. He threatened to come and get her. Finally he gave into her whims.
PiA and Anu jumped with excitement. Bani had decided to stay for few days. Sahil watched his mother who ran in and out of the kitchen and she looked very happy. He decided to corner Bani and ask her what was behind his mother's happiness. Sahil did not need any confirmation about his doubts he was shocked to see his mother sitting on the chair a plate in her hand and she was feeding someone he tip toed and stood behind a pillar. His mouth dropped opened at the sight. Bani was sitting on the table her eyes were filled as she looked at her mother. Sahil so much wanted to go and join them he had never seen his mom this way he stood watching them. Bani choked over her food and he saw his mother getting water for her. Bani's gaze fell on Sahil she smiled turning red in the face. Sahil returned her smile and gave her a wink. Jigyasa's gaze followed Bani's she looked at her son. Her face paled. Sahil walked towards them and stopped before his mom. he looked at her hand she was holding a piece of roti he took her hand brought it to his mouth. Taking the piece in his mouth he looked at his stunned mother. He smiled at her. Jigyas'a eyes filled she looked away from him. Bani smiled in between tears. Her heart swelled. Sahil went and sat down next to Bani taking her hand in his he kissed the back of her hand and muttered, "only you could do this.. thank you.'
Jigyasa looked at him he was up from the table immediately and drew his mother in a tight hug.

Jai took his cell and dialed her number. The call was picked up in the third ring.
'Hi.'
'Jai sir..' she sounded little excited and his face broke into a smile.
'Missed me..'
'No...'
'Oh, i thought you sounded little excited to hear my sound.'
He felt her silence.. 'I am very happy..'
'Oh, why may i ask?'
'Ma knows I am her daughter..'
'What?' he almost shouted.
'Han..'
'I coming then..'
No Jai sir... I...' He did not stop to listen the line went dead.

Bani jumped form the bed as she heard the sound of the vehicle in the porch she did not know what to do he was unpredictable she feared he would come running looking for her. What would her mother think? She reached to the door. Pia flung the door open.
'Oho... waiting for him aren't you?'
Bani blushed scarlet.
'Sit here Bani di..'
Bani sat down looking at her. Pia burst out laughing. 'Go honey go and meet the majnu he seemed pretty anxious... does bua know all this?
Bani did not look at her face. She did not get up from the bed. Pia came and sat down next to her and laughed. "it's okay go and make his tea.'
Bani did not move. Pia pushed her out. Bani got down the step. She saw him stand near the door talking to his uncle. They looked up as she got down. Bani looked away from his piercing glance.
Jai watched her as she came down the stairs her face looked radiant. Her dream has come true her mother had acknowledged her. That was her dream. His thoughts broke as Aditya cleared his throat. Jai looked at him and smiled.
'Bani tea..' Said Aditya and winked at her. She blushed profusely.
Bani went to the kitchen and made tea for them. She took them to the living room she stood hesitantly at the door and Aditya called her in.
Jai looked at her face her face was worth to watch he smiled. She walked to Aditya and gave him his cup and then turned to Jai. He took the cup and looked at his uncle. 'MA was telling me she wanted to talk to you.'
Aditya nodded. Bani did not know what to do she moved to the door.
Jai chuckled. Aditya turned to him. Jai shrugged his shoulders.
Bani left them alone and walked out of the room.
Jai couldn't hold his curiosity he finally asked his uncle about Bani and Jigyasa.
'Who told you this?' Asked Aditya.
'So it's true.'
'Yes,'
Aditya looked happy and content.
"I am happy for you.. you deserve to be happy more than anyone in the world..' Aditya smiled.
'I'll talk to di..'
'About what?'
'You and Bani.'
'Thank you.'

Bani lingered in the hall for a while. Jigyasa who had walked in to the kitchen saw her and stopped before her. 'Need something?'
Bani shrugged her shoulders. She followed her mother to the kitchen to help her Jigyasa sent her back.
Bani could never sit still without doing anything. She took the cloths form the washing machine and went to the terrace to hang the cloths.
Jai who had followed her to the terrace startled her by appearing in front of her.
'Jai sir....'
'Oho Bani stop calling me Jai sir I have a name..'
She nodded. A shy smile formed on her face. He reached for her hand she shrugged.
'Oh Okay... I'll stay away.'
She nodded.
'You happy Bani?'
She nodded flashing him a brilliant smile. He forgot the promise he pulled her towards him and Bani gasped. 'Leave me... Jai sir please...'
He left her with a chuckle. She moved further away from him.
'Where are you going?' he asked crossing his arms over his chest.
'Keeping a safe distance... you can't be trusted.'
'Oh really?' he took a step forward.
'Jai sir please..'
'Okay... i did not see mami where's she?'
'she is in the kitchen...'

Jigyasa went to look for Bani . she had left a sari in the machine. She took it and went to the terrace to give to her she stopped on her track as she heard Bani talk..
'I don't know... Pappa had asked me to go back..'
'You mean you are going?' Jigyasa heard a male voice and she recognized it as Jai's a frown formed on her forehead.
'when can I see you then?' she heard him. 'don't shrug on me Bani.....'
Jigyasa heard her daughter's voice, 'talk to bua Jai sir..'
'"I told you not to call her bua...'
Bani chuckled.
Al right i'll talk to her soon...' Jigyasa heard his foot step she moved away from there.
Jai stopped on his track and looked at her. 'Can I give you a hug?'
'No..'
'You are so mean..'
"I am..' she smiled looking at his fallen face.
'Please just one..'
'Of course not... please go someone will come..'
'Oh, so you are scared someone might walk in otherwise you have no problem..'
Bani looked away as her face turned red with embarrassment.
Before she could move away she was crushed to him. He left her before she cried and whispered to her "please Bani no crying ...'
He left her on the terrace and walked downstairs hurriedly. He stopped before Jigyasa.
'mami... how are you doing?'
'Fine Jai..'
Her eyes bore into him and he knew that was not just normal. He felt she wanted to say something to him.
'Mami you wanted to tell me something?' As he spoke to her it dawned on him he looked straight in her eyes and said, 'I am serious about Bani mami i'll talk to ma..'
Jigyasa stared at him. He knows about her and Bani? he too knew all along she looked away with shame filled face. Jai reached for her hand and squeezed them. 'Nothing is to be ashamed off I am happy you have acknowledged her.'
A tear spilled form her eyes. Jai felt terrible. He reached for her and took her in an embrace. 'Be strong mami and feel proud you have a daughter like her.'
Jigyasa smiled in between tears. 'Will di agree to this? She almost whispered.
'She will, there's only one woman in my life and that is Bani..' he left her side and walked out of the door. Jigyasa wiped her eyes. And her gaze fell on her husband who was watching her from distance. Their eyes met and he smiled at her in assurance.

Krishna Walia sat dumbfounded. Aditya understood her emotion. Silence fell between them and finally he broke the silence, "Di what do you say about it?'
Krishna Walia looked at him and shook her head, 'Adi they cheated you all these years and you how can you.. I can't believe this and Jigyasa she was behaving like she was...'
Di she has changed and ...'
No , no Adi you may forgive her but I cant I love my brother too much to forgive someone who had put him through hell all his life..'
'Di please now you don't start...'
Krishna looked at him angrily. 'I am not big hearted like you Adi. I can't forgive her.'
'Di...' Aditya caught her hand in his. 'Jai likes Bani...'
Krishna did not respond.
'you were against thinking her as my daughter, Jai knew all along who she was. She is a gem of a girl.'
'she is..... I can't accept the fact that she is my brother's wife's daughter and her father, he is a Christian what would I tell Jai's father's family? How do you think I should handle this? I though you would understand my situation.. I am sorry Adi I cant.. Jai will have to forget her.'
Jai can't forget her ma..' said Jai walking to the room. He had been listening to them for a long time. His mother was not ready to listen to reasons. She was being stubborn he could understand what she was saying he understood her dilemma. He understood his mother but he can not forget Bani.
Krishna Walia stared at him. 'For you she is above me?'
'No ma you are my mother, there's difference between a life partner and mother I know you know that.
'Jai I do not want to hear anything. I can't give you my consent. I can't go around your fathe'sr family and explain to them about Bani's family... you know how they are...'
'Yes ma I can't jeopardize my life for them. Either you give your blessing to us or forget about my marriage if not Bani then no one.' He was tired by now. he had gone through emotional trauma with her father and now his mother why the whole world was hell bent on keeping them apart?
He walked out of the room angrily. Krishna Walia cried copiously. Aditya was up from his seat he touched her shoulder and then left the room leaving Krishna Walia in her misery.

Jigyasa was waiting anxiously for Aditya's return from his sister's house. One look at his face she knew everything had gone wrong. Her heart ached for her daughter. She had feared Krishna Walia's reaction. She understood her sister-in-law. But she loved her daughter above all reasoning. How was she going to take this?
To Jigyasa's surprise Bani took it very coolly. She had received a call from Jai saying he had failed her. Bani had consoled him asked him not to get angry with his mother, and asked him to support her in her hard times.
When he had asked what she would tell her Pappa she had told him not to worry. She will take care of him. Before he disconnected the call he had asked for her forgiveness to which she had laughed and kept the phone.
As she had put the phone down a lump had formed in her chest.

Bani behaved very normally with everyone. Pia had broken the news of Bani being their sister to Anu . Anu was ecstatic. Jigyasa looked at her children lovingly. To Pia's insistence Jigyasa had to hand feed all her children. Pia had jumped with joy when Bani told her Jigyasa had acknowledged her. She had cried for not being there when it occurred. Sahil had gloated in front of her. He had teased her their mother had fed him and Bani with her own hands when pia had gone out with her friends to enjoy.
Aditya watched his family with pride. He teased Jigyasa for giving her time to her children and neglecting him in the process.
'Papa is jealous.' Said Anu laughing at him.
'Han I am why can't your mother stretch her hand little bit and feed me too...'
the children laughed uproariously as Jigyasa looked embarrassed.
'Come on ma papa is waiting..' Said Pia, looking at her mother.
Jigyasa looked at Bani and Bani nodded. She turned to Aditya and fed him too. Their children clapped and cheered and the parents laughed along with them. Bani's cell buzzed and she reached for the phone. The laughter stopped as she picked up the call and said, 'Yes Pappa..'
