Two weeks after that fateful morning.

Ami is in a rush and she goes to see her mum. Bani on seeing her daughter rush through things.

Bani: Ami why is it that you are always like a hurricane. Can't you slow down a bit and try managing your things on time.

Ami just gave her a look.

Ami: Don't put words into my mouth now mum.

Seeing that hr daughter is royally pissed off at something and she very well knew it would have to do something with Jai.

Bani: Alright I'm all ears as to what happened now can you just tell me instead of giving me those looks.

Ami: You don't like to hear complains. So its just goanna be a waste of time. As it is I'm late for the rehearsals and off late that's become a habit and Mark has been chewing my brains in spite of doing extra hours a the end of the session.

Bani: You promised to give it a try. And if you want I will speak to Mark. He will understand…

Ami: Oh no, you are not going to do anything of that sort. But yes you can tell that husband of yours please stay from the kitchen and house hold chores. Frankly mum I don't know how he runs his business. He doesn't know to pour a glass of water from the jug without making a mess…

Bani on hearing the rambling was shocked to the way she referred to Jai.

Bani: in a strong tone Ami...

Ami: I get it mum show some respect but I swear mum he doesn't know a head or tail of anything Shaun too has his hairs standing up. I am not joking on this and you seem to find it really amusing.

Bani: I never saw the both of you getting so worked up before. We used to have hiccups earlier too.

Ami: Hic cups please mum its disaster. Just wondering when I will have to dial the emergency number.

Bani: Panicked tone she says why what happened? Did anyone get hurt? Accident happen

Ami: Very soon that's what's going to happen if he stays on.

Bani: You just tell him what you want I know he will cooperate

Ami: Mum don't you get it. The problem is not cooperation rather the guy doesn't know anything. Today he poured the maple syrup into the noodles thinking it was the soy sauce for it. Doesn't the guy know the difference between the two even if they are of the same color?

Bani was smiling she could imagine what had happened and the disaster following that.

Ami: Mum it's not funny and my lunch is screwed I am ending up having the salads daily now. So please mum spare us and ask him to remain confined to the living room hopefully then we can do things without messing around.

Bani: Alright. And get something to eat from the deli next to the dance school.

Ami: Ya great and all the extra calories I will have to do a week of work out for that no thanks.

And she just walks out.

After an hour Jai comes in and like every morning he is a bit dejected. This has been the ritual for the past one week since Jai moved into the house. Bani has to spent time encouraging Jai and to lift his sprits she has to give in suggestions. But the very next day that turns out to be the biggest disaster in the house.

Bani on seeing Jai starts to smile. And Jai is now sure Ami should have updated her regarding the morning mishap. She said she is going by the hospital to drop in and give Bani some toiletries and personal things.

Jai: Alright what did she come and tell you. You seem to be enjoying this but I'm telling you one of these days I'm sure they are going to throw me out.

Bani: Oh you don't have to be so upset. Well as per today's report if you could confine yourself to the living room you wouldn't burn the house down.

Jai: Hey I got the dinner burned only once. I didn't know at what temperature the oven had to be set once it's heated up for baking. She didn't mention that to me. It was her fault.

Bani: Well she did no know the great Jai Walia doesn't even the ABC's cooking. Why did you agree to do that in the first place?

Jai: The day before I saw her doing it and found it quite easy. And you know it's really depressing to see that your kids toil around while you just sit there.

Bani: Well now that's what they want you to do?

Jai: What? You said to try and build things and now this you know that's the only way they talk to me or lese they do their work and then they wind up tot e respective rooms I do not even get to se them.

Bani: Jeet I never thought I would be giving you ideas on how to win around people.

Jai; they are not some people they are our kids. And I have to make up for the twelve years lost. You don't understand Bani. I know now what it feels like to be left out. I am telling you it not at all good.

Bani: Jeet give them time.

Jai: I am willing to give them all the time but you know there is this wall which I feel I will never be able to cross. And today Ami was really upset as her lunch got spoiled and she didn't even have time for making a sandwich and she out righted said no when I suggested shall I make some for her.

Bani: Probably she thought she might get a food poisoning attack.

Jai: This is not funny Bani. I have become a joker for you now.

Bani: Jeet it's really nice to see the Jai Walia getting all flustered up in front of his teenage kids.

Jai: Oh please just tell me how you I can just try and be with them. You got to help me out here.

Bani: This would be headline news to see you begging.

Jai: Come one Bani show some mercy here on the poor old man.

Bani: Hey my Jeet is not old …and gives a pouting look. Just then an idea strikes Bani. Why not take lunch for Ami today.

Jai: Eh are you out of your mind

Bani: Do you want to get to know your kids. Then do as I say for once listen to your wife.

Jai: Alright were I have become a clown so many times one more time wouldn't matter.
