You Haunt My Dreams
The dream haunts me since when I can remember
A dream of a kid hanging from a cliff about to fall
Rescued by another kid - a girl desperate but of courage tall
A dream of temple bells
And an image of Kali in splendour swell
A dream of farewells and goodbyes
But who are the kids - that are bonded in ties?
The dream keeps haunting me day and night
Then there is the young lady with the mysterious locket
That brought to the forefront my dream that taunted
She touched my hand and I stood mesmerized
Her touch consumes my mind
Is it she who haunts my dreams by night?
Her touch flowed through my veins right to my heart
I looked for her in vain - around and around I sought
But "poof" she had vanished with a blow to my heart
Oh! Will you not return to me?
From dream shadows and memory?
I love you - you my beloved of the past
Without knowing how, where, or when - I long for you
Step out of the haunting dreams and come to me at last!
