Think that you're a king. Your grandparents killed their cousins who ruled your country before by cheating in a war. Now you want to bring a new change in laws and do something good for your kingdom. People will naturally resist change. They will blame you in the name of what your grandparents did. You don't know whether they were right or wrong. So you have no other option than to rewrite history and convince others that your grandparents were nice people.Just look at British Royalty. Everyone killed everyone because no one liked any one. But there is no proof for anything though everyone speculated who did what. Still, no one said anything against the throne, because there was no proof or even if there was any proof, it was destroyed. Queen Victoria's guard and favorite friend Mr Brown kept a diary about their daily activities. It was burnt after his death by her son for the fear of public humiliation. Even such a small thing was a matter of threat to the throne. Royalties always need to protect their face before the public. They cannot stand against public opinion.
