For those who are wondering, there are two prospective shows with the title of "Waaris". One of them is supposed to be a Smriti Irani show with the likes of Iqbal in it and that one's supposed to be on Zee TV. The other one is being created by another company for Star Plus. Here's a newspaper article from HT in this regard..

As for Sandeep Sikand, I believe he's creating a show for SONY channel.. Not too sure about it though so pls don't quote me on it. Hope this eases out the confusion a bit ~
