Gitanjali's Pet Love

"I have 13 cats in my Pune house. We have a three storeyed bungalow at Sahakar Nagar in Pune so there it is easier to take care of them. I have a huge family in Pune and my brother and sister don't mind taking care of them. We have a huge garden so it's really easy to take care of them. We have some male and female cats. We have also employed people to take care of them. However, I think cats are independent pets and they do their own work. Therefore, they hardly need any special care," says the actress.

And it's not just the actress who is the pet lover of the family - her entire family loves having them around and enjoys taking care of them. "I think the love for pets is in my blood. I do not even remember when I brought my first cat in my house. I can only remember that from my childhood we have had cats at home. My sister is a veterinary surgeon and she decided to become a surgeon only because of them. Bringing them here is just impossible as I stay on the 11 th floor and I'm also busy shooting. From all of them Shambhu is my favourite cat. He is very big and nice. All of them have names. Apart from that, I have three dogs. A Dalmation, a Chiuaha dog and a stray dog."

"We have adopted all these cats and none of them are gifted. Pets always give you unconditional love and that feeling is amazing. It is a theory if you love them they will also love you more than you will. Whenever I go to Pune, they come to me and start rubbing themselves against me. Therefore, each moment I spend with them is a memorable moment for me," she says fondly.

Gitanjali has done serials like Kasautii Zindagii Kay in which she played a highly popular negative role.
