Chapter Thriteen

Recap: pg 57

He slammed the brakes hard as he reached towards the hospital. Damn, he hit his hands in the steering wheel due to heavy traffic and no parking space. With out caring, he parked the car near hospital site. He heard people calling behind him but he rushed inside.

"Gauri." He panted to the receptionist. "Mrs. Gauri Kapoor just has an accident". The receptionist nodded, "third floor, O.T 4 at right side"

Coming out of elevators, he rushed to the O.T 4 Corridor, where he saw Nikhila crying and Mahan consoling her. Maya, Voila and Shyla were all standing anxiously waiting for new. He rushed to Nikhila, "Gauri?"

Nikhila looked up to her son was shocked to see tears in his eyes, his eyes were red. "Mom, why aren't you telling me? What happened to Gauri?"

He then went up to where Maya and Voila were, "You have got what have you wanted?" he yelled at them leaving all them astounded. "I knew it from the start, it were you. But let me get this straight, he said pointing the fingers at them, "If anything happen to my child and my wife, I'll kill you! DID YOU HEAR THAT?"

"Shiv" Shyla rushed to him and calmed him down, "It's not their fault"

Voila was now crying in her mother's arm. They both were looking scared. "How did it happen?" he asked, standing the other side, looking at them in disgust.

"She was waiting for to cross the road then somebody pushed her to the middle and a car hit her. A teary Voila said.

"You pushed her!"

"NO. I and mom had already crossed the road"

"Why didn't I realize that!" he said sarcastically glaring at them. "Obviously you made someone do it!"

"Shiv!" Nikhila said in a warning tone. "Don't go blaming her, why should she done it. We are in hospital"

"Mom I am surprised you don't know your own sister"

"SHIV!"

Just then the doctor emerged from O.T doors followed by few nurses. Shiv hurried up to him, "Doctor, How is she?"

The doctor looked at him and family behind them. "Mr. Kapoor, you must be her husband. I can't say anything at the moment; she's at very critical stage as she is also pregnant. We are trying all our best"

"WHAT DO YOU MEAN; YOU ARE TRYING YOUR BEST?"

Mahen rushed to his side and calmed him down. "I know how you are feeling but please we, doctors are doing everything we can" Another doctor emerged from the doors, it was a female doctor, "Rahul, she needed to be transferred to big theatre, I suggest O.T 6"

"Please do so Juhi" he then looked at them and excused himself. In a matter of few moments, a wheeled stretcher was being carried out by Doctors. Shiv saw, Gauri laying there covered in blood, just then nurse covered her face. As he saw her, his heart torn into little pieces, it killed him more to see her innocent face, the way he tortured her. The way she kept up with him. He slid down. Nikhila eyed his son and watched him brake down helplessly.

It has been five hours since they last spoke to the doctor and till then there was no sign of Shiv. He had left the hospital immediately. Voila and Maya has left for home due to their tiredness while Mahen, Nikhila and Shyla stayed there. The tension was written all of their faces and why did Shiv blame them? Just because he's over protective about Gauri and his baby that's why he blamed them, Nikhila reasoned to her self, because they were there. He needed to take out his frustration.

Nikhila was relieved to see Shiv. She noticed he has been crying. His eyes stayed at the O.T Doors. The red light went off, the doctors came out. Shiv went up to them, "How's the baby and my wife?"

"She is weak and fine. The baby is fine, you have been lucky. If the car ran over her, they both would be dead. If she was in her late stages, there would be more complication. Gauri is fine but she needs rest due to loss of blood. I suggest you let her stay here for three more days then you can take her home. A nurse can supervise you if you wish"

As if the big burden has lifted from his shoulders, he felt bit right but the news of her being weak was still disturbing. He nodded. They weren't allowed to meet her for two hours. Shiv asked the other members to go home for rest. After much convincing they agreed and promised to come later.

He sat outside the bench, why does he have to be targeted? If it wasn't for that, they'd be living like friends, no arguing, no fighting but peace from both sides. If only she'd understand him and trust him. He knew he has broken her trust but it was not in hands to stop this. If he only wasn't drunk. if he'd heard her that day. If only …

As he saw her from the door glass, lying in the bed with billions of wires connecting to the machines. He was numb to see her, he'd never imagined to see her like this, she has been strong always. He slowly turned the knob and entered the room silently and sat on the stool beside the bed. She looked pale and very weak. He has to quit only for his baby but it will hurt her more. The trust he was trying to re build would be drained in seconds, she'd be crushed. He didn't have any options. He can't tell her.

He heard her moan as she opened her eyes slowly. He sat beside her and held her hands. The scene in front of her was vague. She saw a figure sitting next to her. It took few minutes to acknowledge her surroundings and saw Shiv looking at her. Unaware that he was holding he hand, she looked at him. "Gauri" he said softly. "How are you feeling?"

She sighed and closed her eyes. It hit her; her hand automatically went to her stomach. She felt him holding her hand and looked at him quizzically, "My Baby? How's the baby Shiv?"

"It's fine. You need to rest Gauri"

She nodded and pulled her hand away. Why was he there? She closed her eyes in order to avoid further more questions from him. Shiv left her side and went to sit on the couch that was adjacent to the bed.

She felt someone touch her hand and opened her eyes. The nurse was there checking her, she glanced around the room. "How are you feeling?" She asked her.

"Better than before." She replied weakly.

The nurse scribed something on her notepad while checking her, "You are very lucky, your husband stayed with you for last twelve hours. We told him to go and rest but he refused." She smiled, "He loves you very much"

She didn't know why but the tears formed around her eyes. The lady in front of her did not realize her position. He did not care for her, it was the baby he's worried. She thought. Why did the lady have to lie, he might have bribed her, she knew what he was trying to do. It was her baby, she thought. He cleared her that he'll be happy with her decision and she made it. The baby will be hers, she'll bring him up. She will tell him sooner or later.

Shiv entered the room with bag in his hands. The nurse shifted her position, made her sit back. She smiled at Shiv while leaving the room. She noticed his eyes looked tired. "How are you feeling Gauri?" he said as he sat beside her.

"Fine. What's in the bag?"

He smiled, "Your medicines and that remind me it's your time for break fast." He went to the side cupboard and did something. Minutes later he turned and approached her holding the tray in his hand. He reached out a table and set it out in the position where she can eat it easily and was in front of her.

Gauri frowned seeing the contents of breakfast, her body didn't feel like eating anything and he have brought everything she avoided having in the morning, Butter, jam, toast, fried egg and glass of milk. "You have to eat it Gauri, there is no way I am letting you off." He said reading the expression from her face. She made a face at him.

He smiled and as she ate the toast but no en egg. "Happy! Don't expect me to eat the egg as I'll vomit on you!"

He made a face at her and grinned, "I wasn't expecting you too Sweet-heart but now drink this orange juice. Vitamin C, Good for you and me!"

She eyed him while Shiv gave a sly grin, "I mean our baby too!"

"Whatever, it's mine baby and I do what I feel is right!"

"Sure Sweetie, Now Drink your juice, do you want me to call the nurse to give you one more shot?" it didn't take Gauri less than a minute to finish the juice.

The two more days went past quickly with Shiv guarding Gauri every time. He has guarded a secret body guard outside her room. It was done to let him rest in peace.

"Shiv?" A voice said as he entered his darkened bedroom at mid-night to get Gauri's personal belongings. He stopped and faced the person.

"What are you doing here?"

"Now Now Shiv calm down, you don't want the family knowing you raped your own wife and abused her!"

"How did you know about that?"

The person laughed, "Did you think I would let you off that easily? No! I am warning you again if you sided with her once more you'll pay big time. You still have time Shiv or I'll have to plan for another accident!"

"IT WAS YOU!" HE bellowed at her in rage.

"Sssh, we don't everyone to wake up, do we! You have one week to learn from your mistakes or …"

"Don't you even dare? I will not play your dirty games with you any more you bloody b***! You just wait how I reveal your truth to everyone"

"Who will they believe me or you when I have Gauri on my side?"

"STAY AWAY FROM HER!"

Can you belive there was HAGRID FROM HARRY POTTER! HE LOOKS SO DIFFERENT!! I didn't realize it was him but when I looked at him more closely and I was like, Oh MY gOd!!

Other was Phil and Ash and the other guy from East Enders.

And I am going to watch Mr.Bean on holiday!! 😉😆
