What happens to Shashank and why does Gauri get married to Shiv?

Gauri and shashank are to marry but shiv' friend create a prostitution scandal of gauri causing shashank to run away on his wedding dae and mahen kapoor gets shiv to take his place because it was due to him to scandal occurred and shashank ran away. Thts why shiv and gauri got married but after the wedding gauri saw shashank in the wedding hall and he silently begged for forgiveness by folding his hands infront of gauri and left her letter which an unknown person burnt before it reached gauri.
